Her awkwardness as Anastasia is perfect and she hits the nail on the head. It's just like Twilight, how Bella was awkward and insecure (although Kristen just had no emotion at all) and I believe that no one could have played this role better.
And for Christian Grey, I think he's fine where he's at. People complain that he's nothing like Mr. Grey, but honestly, there's no man like Mr. Grey. People would've been upset either way because every woman had a different idea in their head of him.
Thank God that in real live there is no men like him, and if he exist, i dont want to meet him

that book was the most awfully written book. i'm not saying that sex in books is bad, or bdsm or whatever is bad but literally the writing of the book was awful, not to mention the sexual abuse and emotional abuse.

+VadyBell Couldn't agree more. Dakota is the perfect Ana. She brought her own unique perception of who Ana should be which was very different from the book IMO. Dakota made Ana smart, strong-willed, witty, yet vulnerable and cautios while navigating her confusing, yet beguiling journey to love with Christian. Dakota was perfection. Can't wait to see what she brings to Ana's character for Darker & Freed. I know she'll be awesome. Love her!!!

Dakota playing Anastasia was the best decision out of the other girls... she has the looks and she's Judy perfect for that role. When I saw the movie, I was applauding the cast choice. It was perfect. Wouldn't have watched if Lucy Hale or any others took Anastasias' role.

I can imagine Elizabeth Olsen as Anastasia but after seeing Dakota in the movie i think they made the perfect choice.Dakota is by nature so funny that it made her character more lovable & added some seriously funny scenes in the movie which are probably some of the best in it.

No one doesn't give Dakota enough credit, but she portrayed Ana perfectly! She and Sam Taylor was the only ones who held the movie together despite a poor script and book!

+TanuzMottale I could not agree more with you. Dakota was the forerunner from the start among the actresses who auditioned. Her audition pretty much sealed the role for her from what I've read and watched in interviews;however , I don't think I've ever heard of a film where eleven, yes, I said ELEVEN male leads end up turning down the role esp. a film that has so much buzz and was basically guaranteed to be a blockbuster. Jamie Dornan was never an initial contender. After Charlie Hunnam backed out pre-production, there was a general confusion about who and how to cast the character of Christian. General casting hadn't worked, so some smart person (STJ?) started reviewing tapes lesser known actors had submitted. Jamie was smart enough to be one of those actors, never believing it would be seen. Thankfully he did and how wrong he was! Because Jamie submitted that tape, Fifty Shades found it's Christian. That, in my opinion, is fate. I believe all of this happened because these two talented, beautiful actors were meant to co-star with each other. Their chemistry is unlike anything I have ever seen. It's electric, intense, and natural. So yes, I do believe all of the casting chaos happened for a reason: Dakota & Jamie lighting up the silver screen and our hearts. Glory and Thanks Be to the Casting Gods of Movie Heaven! ;-) ;-) Love them so much and can't wait to see them in Darker and Freed.

Dakota Johnson & Jamie Dornan are THE perfect couple. their looks physically complement ea other. they look great together. have incredible, & buildable, chemistry. I think it's only going to get better!

I wasn't a fan at all but after watching it ....I'm so hooked on it. Dakota did an awesome job as Anastasia Steele....Dakota is perfect for the role! She has a great body , great skin , leggy legs(best for camera shots) , her comedic timing was great too .And her acting, superb!

Dakota was destined to play that role of Ana and I cannot think of any of anyone else but her. Sam Taylor-Johnson, the director of the first movie casted the perfect actors for Ana and Christian. She had the vision for the movies and she made the right choice in casting Jamie and Dakota for the leading roles.

I read the books after the actors were cast and to me they were perfect for the roles lookwise. I don't like James' acting in the movie though and would have loved to see Charlie as Mr. Grey. Dakota, on the other hand, couldn't be more perfect. She's Ana! I always thought of Anastasia as the kind of person that maybe is not that interesting or pretty at first glance but then has that something that gets you and the more you know her, the more alluring it gets. Just like Dakota. I thought she was really plain at the beginning but now she has been my girl crush for months.
For some reason, even after the movie, I always visualize Christine Lahti as Carla and Victor Garber as Carrick. Although the actors that played them were also amazing, I can't help my imagination. Christine doesn't even fit the description...
Now, I think Kate and Elliot were nothing like the characters in the books. Kate was supposed to be really pretty. Margo Robbie (or Imogen Poots)kind of pretty, IMO. Elliot also should be a really hot guy. In my head, he looks like Chris Carmack. Luke Grimes is just meh. Now Mia Grey, I have no idea who could play her but it's not Rita Ora.
They made the right choice. They are two of the best actors in a long time to be put together on the big screen. Good job.

I loved Dakota in the movie .. I loved the movie too because the story its not just about the sex. Its about loving and learning how to love others. I know a lot of people were disappointed with the movie and I get why, But I really did like it. I liked that the focus more on the love and the growing of the characters. :D

Well, Dakota Johnson just fit in the role so passionatly perfect. The person couldn't have gotten more strongly romantic If it wasn't Dakota. I really loved the movie great job guys and I was really happy with such a trust teamwork between Dakota and Jamie we your fans could really spot the trust and joy through your acting. Best movie of 2015 made it great start for my year. Still waiting for the next 2 movies and I'm dying out of patience.

After watching the movie, interviews, and other Jamie Dornan movies I think Dakota was the best choice for Jamie to act this part with and vice versa. It is good that actors
know when a part is not something they are up for emotionally as it would ruin the movie
for the viewers. The actors in a movie have to have some kind of ability to manage tough
content and the off screen communication between takes contributes to the scenes also.
Theyhave both said that laughing and goofing around between takes helped them handle
the emotional and sexual content. I am in awe of the talent it takes to be an casting director as it can make or break a movie. In this case I think it was perfect.

Ikr. The first movie was disappointing.
Dakota was OKAY but I think, okay I don't want to sound rude or disrespectful but she's just not as underlyingly pretty as I imagined Ana to be. I don't see the potential to make her more high maintenance as the character transforms in the books. I'm not saying she won't be pretty all dolled up as the franchise continues I just don't think she will be as "beautiful" as a lot of people expect or pictured in their heads while reading the books.

You have to remember it's a job. If you were an actor and you were to make $20 million off of this particular role you wouldn't wanna miss out on the opportunity no matter how vulgar the character is. The movie SUCKED but they made $400-500 million........so..yeah.
