Also, if there is a lootable item or a literal special character with unique dialogue (and a journal drawing when leaving said location), I think it’s safe to say it’s not a “hidden location” or “a place developers don’t want you to find”. Just saying.

Yeah and further down the cavern making mostly rights and ducking under into that cove open up to a room with a cheat code in it. It’s all intentional there. The rest are glitches or using a teleport mod to get outside the map or tricks we picked up along the way for way to far of falls. Lol.

It looks like the developers might have had some plans for the interior of Sisika.
For anyone interested in a fun tip, all these remote areas and any areas far away that would take a long return trip back can easily be avoided by just simply setting up camp and fast travel. This is particularly handy if wanting to avoid possible death if you're exporing high on a rock mountain or on a cliffside, or are low on supplies and remedies in cold extremes and would rather save them for future use.
Or you could just play the fkn game instead of fast traveling around and skipping the whole experience.
@thegameshows1 Instead of telling me HOW to "fkn" play the game, instead of being a smart ass you could have just ASKED me how I HAVE played the game. Since you brought up the fkn comment, I feel obliged to TELL you I HAVE played the game....6 different play throughs, all with completely different approaches and personal outcomes based on those approaches. For anyone extremely devoted to the enormous content this game has to offer, one would be foolish to think there is only one way to play it. You would know that but I suspect you aren't really impressed as everyone else is with this masterpiece of a game and would just like to fkn get on with it. Too bad for you, the other 37 thumbs up get it.
A developer of red dead redemption here that place in the tower of sisika was one plan that john was gonna be saved from there that was scrapped
Cool! On a video about Manhunt, an ex dev said that he was still not allowed to speak out it! He had some sketches of charecters that were cut from the game. This was about a year ago.

Just picked up rdr and rdr2 for the first time this year. I finished rdr1 and am currently midway through Chapter 3 in rdr2. Thanks for helping develop one of the best games ever made. Hope the crunch culture wasn’t too bad for you. If you’re still working there, best of luck with gta6.

sisika penitentiary was originally supposed to be an explorable area, then the idea got removed
In case you didn't know, in RDO there is (or was? Maybe only in Halloween season?) a Call to Arms mode that includes the interior of the penitentiary.... at least most of it. Can't go into all the buildings.

That third location (by the ice walls) is one of the weirdest locations in the game.
The noises the ice walls make is lowkey terrifying. Like some kind of ancient eldritch god awakening from its thousand year slumber.
I highly suggest going there if you’ve never been.
On a side note, I am a bit disappointed that there is no alien encased in the ice somewhere.
Edit: this video just reminded me. The most terrifying location is that room in the cave (where “the devil” is), which leads to a steep drop off.
If you stand there and listen, you can hear this distant singing. Very strange and unnerving.

So much empty, unused space that needs to load in with the rest of the world every time you boot up. I guess it's true what they say about modern games not being optimized very well.

the only ones here I'd say are "places devs didn't want us to find" are the one in San Denis where you jumped off a walkway to your death, the snowy gorge one and the one in Sisika Pen. And the neanderthal.
I’m certain the Neanderthal man was supposed to be frozen in the frozen lake, and we could’ve seen it in the mission with Javier. And just like that, you would find a strange creature frozen in the prologue out of the map, just like in gta 5
