  • Welcome back TEG Family! We are proud to bring you our next interview with Billy Stanley!
Billy Stanley lived a life that only most of us can dream of! In 1960, he was seven years old when his mother Dee married Elvis’s father Vernon - and Elvis became his big brother.
The day that Billy moved into Graceland was also the first time he and his younger brothers (David and Ricky) met Elvis for the first time. From that first meeting, Elvis embraced them as the brothers he had always wanted. They became family, and over the years, formed very close bonds. Billy’s stories about growing up with Elvis as a brother, his childhood at Graceland, and how Elvis lived his faith are stories we will cherish forever.
Billy shares his unique perspective on what it was like growing up with Elvis as his older brother, providing an intimate look into his childhood and the extraordinary life of the music icon. From heartwarming family stories to behind-the-scenes anecdotes of Elvis’s career, this interview offers a rare glimpse into the personal side of the superstar.
To Billy - thank you for everything! And thank you for being one of the protectors of Elvis’s legacy. We are SO grateful to have met you and hope to one day see you in person soon! We love you!

Wonderful interview, ladies! I really like listening to Billy because I think he captures the kind of person Elvis really wanted to be all the time. Also, I have always felt like June Juanico is the woman Elvis loved-she was witty, spiritual ( she is the one that gave him The Prophet book), athletic, able to hang with the guys, able to talk sense to him, his momma really liked her, and he wanted her to come see Graceland right after he bought it. This is also when his career was taking off-and he chose to listen to “Col.” Parker. I think June would have stayed with him had he been able to be faithful. She really cared for him. Her book is the best book I have ever read by one of the girlfriends, and it is so aptly named. It made me cry for both of them.
Billy’s book is my favorite for getting a family perspective on Elvis, and how much his faith in Jesus meant to him. Elvis’s gospel music has always been my favorite-I sing it all day long.

@@ThoseElvisGirls actually the other favorite story is Elvis throwing the football 🏈 and calling Billy to catch the ball, while Elvis is aiming for the tree, and Billy crashing into the tree while Elvis is laughing and Billy's sprawled out on the ground seeing stars, I'm still laughing about it an hour later, Elvis was so,funny he was the typical big brother, I had brothers like that.

Excellent interview! I have seen Billy interviewed many times and when he says this is the most relaxed and most fun interview he has ever done, he means it. Part of a great interview is the interviewee knowing the interviewers are really interested in what is being shared and all three of you show intense interest and focus in every interview. Another part of a great interview is the interviewer being prepared and asking questions which demonstrate they have already consumed the writings of the guest, which makes the interview a joy not only for the interviewee to be part of but for the audience to behold. I was fascinated when Billy told us that Elvis had revealed he only loved two women during his life and both were pre-Billy, most likely meaning prior to 1956 when Elvis started meeting women who were attracted to Elvis the Star and perhaps not Elvis the Man. Dixie Locke is absolutely one of these two women, I think we can all agree there can be no doubt. I am not so sure June is the second based simply on the fact Elvis allowed months to go by without phoning her. Elvis loved Gladys and would never let a day go by without speaking with her and was the same way with Dixie. I do believe June's rejection of Elvis by marrying another hurt Elvis more deeply than he would have thought it would. I think the second woman may have been Barbara Hearn who knew the real Elvis before he became famous and shared his feelings of home for Memphis. Despite what Elvis told Billy, I also believe Elvis loved all the women in his life, but after Barbara there were always lingering doubts of their motivation for being with him. Did they love him or did they love his money and fame? Elvis was never able to fully commit because he allowed these doubts to fester in his heart and continued to seek another, the "right" woman, the one who would love him unconditionally like Gladys loved Vernon. Elvis may have felt that if he had been true and applied himself fully to either Dixie or Barbara, they would have been with him for life and provided the emotional anchor and heart to his family life which he so desperately desired, especially once Gladys was gone, an event he never anticipated while dating either lady. Keep up the great videos!

This was a really great interview! The more and more I listen to Elvis stories, I really feel so connected to him and feel like we would have been best friends. I like how he saw the world, he was very ahead of his time. Looking forward to learning more about Elvis. Also that comment Elvis made about the two loves, who were they? That question really stuck out to me. And that comment of how Elvis wanted us to feel about 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' amazing and I feel like hearing that confirmed how I feel how he was singing in the song. There's also a quote of Elvis saying he wanted to be a bridge to help people.
Thanks Billy for coming on the show and taking the time to speak for the fans! And thank you ladies for your time! Also thank you Kristen for replying to my comment! I don't have Instagram, but I do have a Facebook are you ladies on there? Also also (again) I don't know if you cover stories of places Elvis went to, but I am here in Florida and I am familiar with the place he performed in West Palm Beach! If you ever come by let me know would love to join in on the Elvis fun!

So I got on my knees and told God that I didn't want to keep living the way I was. The next day, I felt different! It was as though my soul was washed clean. After that I've never been the same. On Sunday I went to church and Bible study and never stopped. That was in 1984, if your looking for Jesus, just call out to him! I did have a few supernatural experiences in the beginning. Knowing Jesus is the greatest choice I made. Mÿ favorite albums of Elvis's are his gospel ones, I do like others but his gospel ones are my absolute favorites....
