There’s no doubt that women have always struggled to be taken seriously, to be respected etc. Being told they can’t do this, or they can’t do that. They belong at home. They’re not worthy. And so on. I know I’ve heard it all myself, and this song is just being angry about it which is totally valid.
How is this remotely misogyny? The things she’s saying like “too dumb or too young” isn’t what SHE’S saying about women, it’s what women have heard and continue to hear and she’s angry about it. If you’ve watched the movie, her character, and really, most of the characters have a warped sense of women and what they can do. Cinderella wanted to have her own business selling dresses and everyone told her it was insane, women can’t run a business. Vivian, Idina’s character, wanted her to just go find a rich man and to forget her dreams because it’ll cause embarrassment and disappointment because that was what was engrained in her to believe. This is what society has engrained in so many women. That they’re too loud, too sensitive, too ambitious, etc. That’s maddening, and this song is about being angry about all of it

The movie was great, it changed all those misconceptions. Cinderella followed her dreams of being a dressmaker and DID NOT MARRY AS SOON AS she met the prince and the addition of princess Gwen was a great idea. The stepmother is not evil she is just broken and hurt as was not able to follow her passion for music. Idina Menzel did a great job in the movie Camilla cabello and Idina Menzel are such a great pair. The music was soo good😍💞

I'm sorry but the writing was bad with most jokes falling flat and over excessive pandering to the politically correct world. They ruined Cinderella character like she had personality(sass) but not snarky it a delicate balance that the writing and acting did not convey well. The songs were not cohesive, the ballgown was a appalling and the Prince not very princely in personality.

It’s so sad that so many have never experienced or even heard of rent or wicked. This woman is a legend for so many different reasons. Not only is she an extraordinarily talented woman, but she’s just a really good person. From what I’ve seen, she just has a big heart and every time she performs, so much heart and soul goes into it and in that, she connects with people. That organization she started “A broaderway” is just one example of how she’s uses her powerful platform to make a difference. I have so much love and respect for her, and this song/video blew me away. So powerful, and proof that her talent is limitless. She just keeps getting better. I love this legendary queen ❤️

Cinderella Movie was everything! And the costuming was nothing less of what I expected it to be. Especially the way the different cultures were represented at the royal ball through the gowns! I absolutely loved it.
I liked the movie and while there were some good covers and mash-ups, this song was the strongest of them all. (and I love me some Billy Porter, please don't get me wrong) Idina is showing why she is a legend of our time.
