The individual magazines were RAF, however, the smaller compound you entered was not USAF it was a US Naval Weapons Facility. I was stationed there 3 different tours with the US Marine Security Force. That facility was active 1974 to 1992.

Brings back memories. The red line on the ground in front of the first few igloos tells the story. However, this area had early 60's vintage security measures. The doors are too thin, I didn't see the required jack phone, and the lack of interior accessories place this in the early Cold War. It looks like this area was passed back and forth between USAF and MOD. Much like RAF Welford.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Some good, some bad.

Great video guys I know the location having worked the GAMA a Greenham back in the mid 80's we did a few hops over to this base. Just one thing though nukes were never stored here, but there was plenty of destructive power stored right up to the late 80s early 90s.

In the town I grew up in, there is a complex like this . It was a WW 2 bomb factory . My grandparents were farmers but when the bomb factory opened they went to work there. My grandfather was a night watchman and my granny assembled the bombs. They were shipped by rail to the port 400 miles away and then to the War. After the war was over , they went back to farming....

UPS at 12:06 would be 'Uninterruptible Power Supply' that would have been the feed from the battery system inverter to provide backup power to essential items if the incoming mains failed. The lever at 12:43 looks to be a hydraulic release for the gate.

A speculator could look into buying this property, refurbishing each bunker into a livable dwelling and sell them. Not only could a survivalist find the "hardening" a plus but an off-grid environmentalist could see the benefit of a rammed earth-type house to be a real benefit.
