    I didn't know Advanced Skeleton had an automatic CC4 set up like this. So glad I found this video. This will save me so many extra steps to rig my custom characters. Thank you so much!

    thank you so much this is so helpful! I struggled with the name matcher and it never matched no matter what, and then with your tutorial it's just a simple click "import" then it's done!

    This is amazing feature, but unfortunately I am not able to do the face setup. It doesn't show the feature on my AS 5.941, Any chance you know what seems to be the problem, Followed the tutorial completely and using same version of Maya as well ?

    • @bizarre_studio

      So Now it works the only problem was I had the previous version of Advance Skeleton and auto update wasn't working so I thought I had the latest version. Thankyou for making the tutorial. Just download the latest version of AS which is 6.280

    Tôi đã làm theo video nhưng nó không hiển thị bước "CharacterCreator Mesh detect Apply FaceFitting", Is there any way to redo that step without starting from the beginning?

  • @TheSodominion
    @TheSodominion Před měsícem +1

    I have used maya 2018, 19 and 20. And tried 3 different versions of AS. The latest being 6.280. I am also using the exact same character and the exporting method. Despite that it doesn't do face at all. In fact it doesn't even prompt with the objects being out of the group or resetting it's transformations. The prompts I get are "align", "straighten" and then "build" where it builds and attaches. So i get the body rig but with -90 in transform and ungrouped mesh and no facial control.
    Is this a maya version issue?

    • @AnimationSimplified
      @AnimationSimplified  Před měsícem

      I'm not 100% positive but I do believe it's a version issue. I use 2022 and sometimes 2024. I'd reach out to Advanced Skeleton's page on Facebook and see what they say.

    This is an awesome feature! How would you now bring mocap to it, bro? Does it have the ARKit blendshapes embedded into it?

    • @AnimationSimplified
      @AnimationSimplified  Před 3 měsíci +1

      So after you run through the process in the video, go into the Face tab and scroll down where there's a box for Apple ArKit. Make sure to have that checked and then scroll down to "Build" and click "Rebuild AdvancedFace". Just a heads up it may possibly break the teeth and tongue, but you can possibly manually skin that back to the joints pretty easily. After that Apple ArKit should work!

    This just seem like a long version AS rig CC4 video they put out a week ago. Nothing you said here was different. I thought you would have brought your own mesh in and rig the face in CC$ and then export it out.

    • @AnimationSimplified
      @AnimationSimplified  Před 3 měsíci

      Yea I had created this before they had posted their video. I’ve created custom characters since then in CC4 and rigged them with AS. It’s the same process.

      Is there an error that pops up in the script editor? That will help determine what went wrong. Script editor is usually in the bottom right corner, it'll highlight red if there's an error when you run the procedure.

      Make sure you have the latest advanced skeleton, you may need to update it or re-install it. And also make sure that the character is from Character Creator 4. Otherwise it will not work properly

      @@AnimationSimplified Bummer as I've been trying to import Daz character with AS. Actually there is a direct rig method from Daz but it's lot buggier than cc4 import and other way is to import Daz character in CC4 and there import in Maya as CC character. Everything works great but sadly face give symmetry error which is due to the fact that CC4 convert Daz character into CC3+ but not CC4 and same is the case with CC3+ default characters as they have some symettry error, but CC4 base figures work totally fine like your video. Maybe future character creator might give the option to convert Daz character into CC4 format.

    • @AnimationSimplified
      @AnimationSimplified  Před 2 měsíci

      I'm not positive if this will solve your issue, but you can try duplicating the geometry in Maya, freeze transformations, reset transformations, and delete by type history. And then re-skin and copy weights from the original body to your "cleaned up" body. I had what sounds like a similar issue when I was manually using the face setup in Advanced Skeleton in this video: czcams.com/video/n-J9NymlTOk/video.html Hope this solves your issue!

      @@AnimationSimplified Well I haven't tried it yet but it seems like problem is only with CC female Camile figure and also once you import Daz figure into CC or even use headshot the base female figure is Camile. On the other hand male figures are having no issue as I've imported Genesis male figure into CC and then into Maya and face setup worked without any issue, only problem is female figure. I will also contact Rellousion and Advanced skeleton creator to solve this issue but I can see the main issue is in CC4 Female figure.
