- True Stalker is a mod for #stalker that was in the development for over 7 years (but ive heard of it only when it got released lmao). Developed on Open Xray engine, True Stalker promised to deliver a new take on story mod genre. Long story short - it didnt. The story is super lame and the ending is abrupt (as the writer admitted - he didn't know what to do). Voice acting is surprisingly good apart from main protagonist, he is voiced by the writer (head of APPRO team also) and sounds as disinterested and monotone as in his stalker news videos. I do not reccomend the mod, its an endless loop of fetch quests across the map, bad writing, lots of hits in the head and just a bad experience overall.

Truly one of the most Sdalger mods of all time

But it is really a bad mod, a lot of people spoken their minds about it too.
I find it interesting how mods with names like 'true x' or 'x complete' tend to be some of the worst showings of the community, as far as overhauls are concerned. They either have abnormally bad technical issues, or wind up a trainwreck of iffy design decisions.

They forgot to improve the AI and the gunplay while making the mod, other than that it's an "Not great but not terrible" experience

Finally a triple A mod: Annoying, Ashamed, Awful
It was an ok mod. Finally something fresh among the Misery-based sandboxing we've already seen for like 10 years now, although the character swap was pointless and the ending was meh.

Отдаёт теми же вайбами, что и Madness Combat: Project 'Felony'. Это непрекращающийся пик :D Сколько ж у тебя времени на монтаж уходит...
Монтаж занимает разное кол-во времени. Видосы по 10-12 мин делаю примерно месяц или полмесяца, такие короткие от дня до недели. В зависимости от своей лени.

If True Stalker really took 7 years to develop then I feel like the devs were just jacking off 90% of that time and just pretending to work. No A-Life, character gets knocked out every 10 minutes, etc, etc

Is it really that bad though? I played a decent bit into it and so far my biggest grievances were a few scenarios where the game puts you into a cutscene where a few enemies stand directly in front if you and then get to shoot immediately as it ends, before your character even pulls out their gun, requiring a few reloads to survive. That and the dev has a fetish for your character losing his gear, because it happened at least 5 times by now. The mysterious psi device case questline was also really jarring compared to everything else. A-Life feels a bit absent and some of it is a bit too scripted, but otherwise, it was pretty solid for a fan project and surprisingly refreshing. Though calling it "True" STALKER feels a bit pretentious.
Doesnt everything you said mean that the mod sucks though?
@@lavashechik Do mind that I focused on things I disliked during my own (not yet finished) playthrough, without focusing on anything good.
My impression so far is that the good outweighs the bad. I've had a pretty pleasant experience outside of some hiccups, which for a freebie mod I struggle to complain about.
I'm curious what others think about it, as it seems I had a different impression than Vaas.
By the way, the developers have completely turned off the A-Life for this mod, so it doesn't feel a bit absent, it IS absent

Never will understand people who slam this mod to the ground, it is free, it has a decent story, new graphics, no bugs and it is really polished. Literally this is one of the best mods made for the series so far, you may not like the ending i personally do not like endings of OG games but it does not make their storylines bad. Yet here so called 'fans' slamming it to the ground as if they will be able to get their asses of the couch and do better one day. I really do not understand your mindset guys, it is like you are paid to slam this decent mod to the ground but i do not think there is a man stupid enough to pay a channel who only have 16k subscribers to make him slam a mod which is made for the fans by the fans with zero payback.

Also, from what I saw, read and overall gather: A-life as in the OGs and other mods doesn't exist (which was and is one of the games selling points), it's a "fetch quest" simulator, and it had it's fair amount of technical issues (saw some patches so I hope they're fixed by now).
Didn't play it myself but it wouldn't be weird if it sucked, there are a fair amount of mods that suck too.
Also, and as another comment said, "TRUE" Stalker is a pretentious name, and ironic considering what I said previously
