I've always kind of found it to be genius how Super Hans and Johnson are used in this show. While Jeremy and Mark through their contact with each other influence each other's personalities Super Hans and Johnson are like reflections of who each would be if the other wasn't in their lives. I.E a more extreme, more successful version of each. (Super Hans isn't successful in any normal sense but he is moreso than Jeremy, he has a job after all). If Mark wasn't weighed down by Jeremy being a fuckup he'd probably be a successful businessman and if Jeremy didn't have Mark he'd probably be a crackhead. But because they're comfortable just having to compare themselves to each other they kind of level out as two losers.

Mark's self doubt goes much deeper and does more damage or at least equal to Jeremy's screw ups. He would be less stressed and not put in as many situations but he'd still be a socially awkward outcast.
It's also hilarious that everyone calls him "Super Hans" without flinching.
Javier Vargas the nicknames have a unique and fun appeal to the show. Big suze, super hans etc

i love how it's not until like, almost the last episode of the entire series at his WEDDING that mark actually finds out his real first name... I still don't even remember what it is after binging the whole thing like 3 times lol

I don't mean that in a pretentious way, but even most British people don't 'get' Peep Show's humour. I showed a mate the scene at 2:33 and he could not fathom why I found it so hilarious
I watched him do a dj set at glastonbury as Super Hans. It was surreal, and amazing in equal measure.

Super Hans might be my favourite side character in any comedy series ever, he completely steals the show every time he comes on screen, the actor’s comic timing is pitch perfect and his deadpan delivery makes the dialogue even funnier 🤣🤣

@@playasadonejoe they do. Hans also trusts Mark to look after his crack. They have some resent towards each other ie "the iron Duke" and "crack addled maniac" but its directed at what they represent rather than anything personal. You'd just expect there to be more conflict than there is.

I love how Mark left the crack near the front door and instinctively knew that the easiest way to get rid of it would be to wait for Super Hans to show up with a piece of wood. Brilliant little details and callbacks like this truly make Peep Show the greatest sitcom ever.
I think it's underappreciated how funny is it that Jez has to check whether Super Hans's legs are on fire

A brilliant show that I miss watching. Was about 14 years late to the party but tore through the entire series in about a month once I found out about it.

I was about two years late 05 I caught it while switching channel one evening. Instantly hooked and about once a year I watch em all again
I’m extremely late, but I couldn’t have been on time if I tried, seeing as tho I was born in 2003 😂😂
I started watching it in 2007. The dead dog mummy episode was my first and hooked instantly.
