Any decent suit will have a kind of rubber-band addition inside the waistline, and it will cling to the shirt (or skin) and keep the pants up even when you lose several inches. The band doesn't;t contract the pants, it just adds some traction that will keep the pants up and not let them slide off in an instant. Belts shouldn't be necessary, plus they break up the form, the flow, the line of the suit.

The Tom Ford suit just instantly changes the way Jose is presented. Professional, respectful, quiet, calm, confident. The suit spoke for Jose. Jose could just stand there quietly and he would be the loudest person in the room. For $10,000, yes it's worth it. Expertise comes with a price, and what Tom requests is what his suits are worth. The tailor did a phenomenal job as well. If you do something good, never do it for free, and always make sure youre paid your worth

A few points. Suit Supply is a great value. Can not argue that point. I think their people (atleast in NYC) are weirdly snobby but the value proposition is hard to beat. Their suits are made in China (using great fabrics) which is one way they hit the lower point. Also he mentioned them being half canvasses. Key. Notice how the suit does (and does not) move with him.
Contrast that with the Tom Ford suit. See how it moves on him like a second skin. The lapels never leave his chest. And it’s new which means it will only conform better to his body with time. It’s fully canvassed for one. Uses fabrics exclusive to TF. All of his suits are made in Italy or Switzerland.
Weirdly, unlike the snotty service in Suit Supply. the service in Tom Ford is superlative. They make you feel like a boss. Treat your beautifully. Never make you feel like you don’t belong in the shop.
TF value? It’s tough. They’re super expensive and he’s not wrong about being expensive to tailor. TF suits are constructed so intricately that you HAVE to use a top tailor who understands it. Expensive.
Suit Supply is great. Can’t take anything away from them but a Tom Ford suit is just... Amazing. You’ll never regret buying one.
And another tip? TF has outlet stores in NY and CA. Shhhhhh...

My bracket is Suitsupply - Bespoke. With Suitsupply you get an incredible suit at the $600-$800 range bracket, but with bespoke, such as Michael Andrews in NYC you can get a perfect fitting suit made specifically for you for only 3.5K! and yes if blows the Tom Ford suit and experience right out of the water! buy 2 perfect suits for the price of one almost perfect suit.

Yes, in my opinion the Tom Ford suit is well worth the $6,400, this coming from someone who will only ever grace the presence of a Tom Ford suit in his wildest dreams. That being the case, the insane amount of tailoring as well as the service in the Tom Ford store itself, on top of a straight up silk suit, Tom Ford dominates the game.
