this was the last movie I watched with my mom at her home as she was dying of cancer. It gave her some laughs, thankfully.... but now has a whole new meaning for me.

I know right. He has a wide range of acting abilities. In "My cousin Vinny,and 8 Heads in a Duffel bag as well as Easy money his comedic timing was on point constantly. Then in the movie "With Honors" Where he played a Bum,but bear in mind; he played a Harvard Bum. Once again his humor was perfect ,and in the more serious scenes more then once I got that proverbial emotional lump in my throat,and my eyes started to tear up. Joe Pesci played the character Simon so well that you cared about what was happening to him,and a hour later you no longer thought of Simon as a bum,but as a friend,and not just any friend,but a friend who was very sick,and dying. And that's not something just anyone can do.
What PEOPLE only remember him from those two movies?! Lol my favorite movie of his,is the super! Also home alone,his many visits on snl,moonwalker,a Bronx take,lethal weapon,raging bull!!! The fuck are you talking about?! Two movies! You're an idiot!
I was born and raised in Los Angeles,my parents divorced when i was 10 years old and when i was 18 my Mother told us we were going to go live in Alabama . The absolute fist thing that came into my mind was this great movie ! I pauses for a while thinking how it was going to be like living in Alabama. I was from LA and I thought to myself that i was going to stick out like a sore in Alabama thumb just like vinne! It was so far one of the best years of my life living there! I hope to go back soon someday!
I had just finished a business law class in college when this movie came out. The part about the counter offer had me rolling the most in the entire movie theater. The whole scene is genius.
I thought for a while the smaller guy, back to the wall was the same actor who played a character in Heat. The guy in the crew that set up Neil and Neil went to a hotel room and shot him dead center in the chest while he sat on a chair. Same kind of dark stringy hair, balding top and a goatee. But this was a different film director I'm assuming.

Those two buildings still stand in Mansfield Georgia after all these years It was a warehouse they used for the hotel the tracks are gone though they're all torn up and everything has been removed but the station is still there interesting too

I watched this movie 6 or 7 times and laughed every time. Became a fan of Pesci and Marissa.
