@Rual my brother, you have just mentioned the verses of Sura Anam 76-88, where Allah was narrating the curiosity of Ibrahim(May The peace of Allah be on him) about his creator. He was searching his lord and sometimes he thought sun, moon or starts are his lord and he found those were disappearing after certain time. Then if you fourther read verse 78-79 you can find ""And when he (Ibrahim) saw the sun rising, he said, "This is my lord; this is greater." But when it set, he said, "O my people, indeed I am free from what you associate with Allah. Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah .""
So thus Ibrahim (peace be on him) got realized that these creations are not Allah.

Aoa, borther. My disagreement is base on a poor knowledge of Islam. But I am seeking to learn more. More the image of Isus (pbuh) as a peaceful "lamb of god" who agreed to be sacrificed to free humans from the burden of sin. At this point Muhammad (pbuh) seems more of a holy warrior. I might stop by the Islamic Center here in San Diego to see if they have literature they would recommend.

I really enjoyed this video. I know in my heart that we are more alike than un-alike. I believe in my heart our differences are tiny and if we just learned our similarities we could love each other with more ease. I pray to Allah everyday as much as possible. Allah shows me my blessings everyday. Someday's I recognize these blessings and I give thanks to Allah but someday's I miss these wonderful gifts from our creator. You sir are one of Allah's blessings to me. You continue to show me the beautiful religion of Islam. I have fallen in love with this ancient belief that came from the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH). I am grateful for all the Prophets, Saints, and disciples that gave their lives to the service to our Almighty most wonderful Father. It is in that fact that our Father Allah makes us all Brothers and Sisters. I cannot argue scriptures from the Quran, Bible, and Torah but I can translate the most important thing from all these wonderful holy books - LOVE. I love and respect you and all my brothers and sisters. Because this is the core of Allah's desire for us and all his children.

Surah ikhlas ayat 1-4
فَخِرافِي تُصغِي إلَى صَوْتِي، وَأنا أعرِفُها وَهِيَ تَتبَعُنِي.
The highest form of intellect in terms of knowing Allah is the rational premise that the Creator can never be equal to the creation as a concept.. we cannot refer to Allah as the father because greater than the Father is the grandfather and greater than that is the great-grandfather and great than that is the ancestor, this concept shows the expression Father remains linked to human origin ie Adam the origin of all mankind and not that of divine supremacy . The Creator is above all concepts of human labels , the Zulu in South Africa prior to Christianity reaching them believed in an Almighty God called Umvelenange which translated to The One who has no hands but can do everything The One who has no eyes but sees Everything and the descriptors go on in His praise, they understood to believe in any concept equal to their capacity is not worthy of honour, imagine them being told god is a white skinned English version of a Hebrew who neither spoke English or was white and who never preached to anyone accept his community. Why whould you refer to The majestic King of Kings Lord of all creation to who the mountains bow and the seas churn with praise wave after wave from creation to date and the trees and animals praise him through their languages. This is only for Allah the Lord of the Worlds. Just a point next time you want to refer to Allah as father, when ever you refer to to your country's president refer to him as Daddy or your king as Daddy lol

There was never any similarity between Islam & Christianity ! Christianity is about Salvation . Salvation simply does not exist in Islam . Bible is about the Kingdom of Yahweh / Jesus and never was about Mariam . Isa is not Jesus Isa is a muppet created by Mhd in his vile and vain try to copy Christianity . "I'm a devoted Christian woman. I have found many simularities between the religions. . .I personally believe us, along with the Jews, to be Brothers and Sisters....Decedent's of Abraham. Serving the God/Allah of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob. Also, God/Allah promised Abraham, that Ishmael would also be made into a great nation! Even though God/Allah sent Hagar & Ishmael into the desert, Ishmael was still the seed of Abraham, so God/Allah promised to make him into a great nation also! Ishmael served the same God/Allah as Abraham . . .so I am sure he continue to serve God/Allah in the desert. . .and I am sure he taught & guided his children & further generations in the same. But, I am sure that Ishmaels decedent's did not have all of the exact same traditions as the other decedent's of Abraham. But regaurdless of different traditions, the God/Allah was still the same....
I could be wrong about all this, but it is what I think =)
I think we are all Brothers & Sisters. & because of that, I hold Islam with the upmost respect & in high regards. I admire your Scriptures as much as I admire mine.....& I respect your Messengers & Prophets as much as I do mine.....I believe us to be divinely linked..... =)

I would like to comment and further this discussion, as far as your question that you think it is same God that Christians, Jews and Muslims its true and most the Muslims believe in that. So indeed we are brothers and sisters
And as you said you are a devoted Christian I'm sure you love Bible and would believe every word of it. On this point let me ask a few questions:
The word and the religion Christianity both came from Jesus Christ and you would also agree that as per Bible Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all were rightly guided so what was their religion?

I've been studying on my own since about 33 yrs old raised Christian I always had to many questions this makes me a not very good servant to any religon faith is a luxury I was not born with but what I lack in faith was and is a burning desire to understand all religons my studys on Islam, buddhism, taoism, Hindu Christianity ect have a burning to study all the time literally. .not for school or anything this is just knowledge I just want so bad to learn in doing this and my main pt of this post is that all the religons are open for interpretation meaning peaceful or radical excluding buddhism as it's not a religon more a way to live in harmony..but they all have the same rules if you will all peaceful parts in all the holy books...there's a old saying the worst thing to happen to Christianity is Christians and I really think all religons want and strive for peace as we all are children of Abraham as Christians and Muslims find a great profit he brought and wanted to bring all religons and people's together but with this is a very hard thing for hate is easy to have love take works and effort...it goes against our old ways ...as someone seeing there family killed over religon this will and has caused many people's to be filled with hate these people need love and I nor any one of us can judge there is 1 judge and he is none of us that's for sure...I wish radicals would see others as a human and instead of killing them attempt to convert them I'd rather see this be the most extreme radical option then judging and saying these people are bad because of whatever reason..all religons are becoming more and more unpopular with new generation who sees the bloodshed the history and alot see them as myths stories folklore....this is bad for all religons...and if they want peace and more worshipers something huge needs to unite the people's and under all the relions all the huge figures in modern religins need to come together talk to the enemies and understand the only salvation besides the heavens opening and gods judgement day happening...besides that religons will be less and less popular. ..especially...what they don't want is some high powered non religous people's to make huge strides in peace. ..I'm not to good at writing so I apologize for this run on sentence I'm at work and no cell policy but really wanted to share my feelings on what I've read and learned so far...I honestly love you all and wish great beautiful things for everyone from bottom of my heart and soul..

You mentioned how Dr. Zakir Naik is trying to bring different religions together but in reality what he is trying to do is OPEN people's eyes regarding the right religion. And why does he do that? Because Allah clearly mentions that if you worship anyone besides him then your going to the hell fire (The way he asks us to, and he also says that he doesn't need it but its better for the people)
Islam is the only religion valid right now and Allah proves it by Quran[140 years old book]-
-Challenging the entire human population to come together and make a Surah like Quran's or somewhat similar
-Mentioning Science facts in Quran (which is insane)
-By speaking about Pharoh's Body still being PRESERVED for future generations to come and see of his proof
-Trying to FIND 1 contradiction in it
And many more things. He is asking us after mentioning all of this-
-Wont we acknowledge him as the only God?
-Wont we follow his commands?
-Dont we believe on the day of recompense?
- and many more
I recommend you watching Mr.Naik's - Is Quran the word of God? (its also a 3 hour video with q and a like this one) and if you get intrigued then read the Quran and you will realize that there is no book like it on the entire planet and that is indeed the word of God, the only God.
Also, do you realize that all comparative religion students are only Muslims. Its only Muslims who have open questions for non- believers and AS FREE. You might find a few on Christianity and other religion but VERY few. Why? because those scriptures can't back themselves while Quran can and those speakers say -- i believe, i think while Muslim scholars says- Quran says, Bible says, xyz Book says

But remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad when his companions asked "after Allah and His Messenger, who is the third person we should respect and loved". Prophet Muhammad saw answered "your mother".Then the companions asked again "after mother?".Prophet Muhammad answred "your mother".The friend asked for the third time and the answer was still the same.
