I've spent months trying the best way to use the Fusion footage and what settings work best in which situations. In this video I show you what settings I use and go through my editing workflow to produce the fantastic GoPro Fusion shots that I use in my videos.

Question: i just did my first edit and exported the file. it exports as a 360 video. i want to reframe the clip, and have it play only in that way (not 360). a lot of family in friends don't want it to be interactive after edit. How can i do that on export? That is, how do i reframe and then export as a "regular" movie?
That is covered in this tutorial, you need to setup your Premiere Pro Sequence before you bring in your 360 video, I usually import a regular video in the format I want the final video to be in, this then sets the sequence settings correctly, or you can do this manually in Sequence Settings.
@@GadgetJohn I'm just learning Premiere Pro and I just got the Fusion as well. I know you imported your own video to bring in the settings you wanted. I don't have any videos to import... Can you share these settings with me. I'm doing just basic 16.9 video for youtube also. Thanks for your video very helpful
K/DuB Creative Once you’ve got some 360 videos shot you then use Fusion Studio to stitch your videos then use them in PP and use the GoPro vr plugin to reframe.
In Premiere, when rendering our video go to the Video tab and scroll to the bottom. You will see a checkbox for 360 video. Simply uncheck that and your video will be rendered as a 2D video.
@@GadgetJohn Mr GJ is there somewhere I can go for updated method.. shooting.. editing with this camera...it's my first
This is really helpful video and I love it! It's super clear in explaining everything when editing 360 video in Premiere Pro.
Thanks, John! I've been shooting with Fusion family videos and viewing them in VR mode on youtube, but reframing makes it so much more shareable with others!
Thanks John, some interesting info and insight into the time taken to produce videos. I think that I have a lot of learning to do and may be some software purchases.
Amazing job ! Keep doing this it's super interesting
Very helpful video. Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much! it help me to export correctly my 360 video!!! very nice video!
Thanks! I was doing a GoPro Max video and couldn't figure out why the preview was normal but when played it was all zoomed in with VR controls
I spent all day re-uploading it then I watched your video and saw the VR checkbox in the export menu.
good info thanks!
Great tips John! New subscriber here :D
Interesting great job!
Nice vid, cool effects. Thanks for showing us some of the capabilities of editing. Was the blotching effect on your arm caused from over sharpening in your import settings?
It’s the GoPro colours over satiating the image.
Really good video. Thank you. I have a Fusion and 2 Samsungs. How did you import the Samsung files into GoPro Fusion Studio?
I use the samsung files in Premiere Pro using the fusion plugin.
Hi John, great video. Exactly what I was looking for. I have two questions....
1. do you think the colours (issue you mention around 17m22) can be resolved by turning the camera 90degrees whilst recording? I think I read somewhere that both lenses get more equal amounts of light.
2. Is it an option to choose "Match Sequence Settings" when exporting? I was thinking that the result then stays as close as possible to the original quality.
Thanks and take care!
Hi Peter, I've got a video I'm working on to celebrate the Fusion, the tricks you can do with it and how to best use it in your videos, so I will try your suggestions and see how they work out. The video should be out by the end of this year, got quite a few big projects on the go right now 👍
Hello. How are you rendering the videos so fast ??? At least it shows rendering with such high quality so fast... pls ans . Thanks
Great video thank you so much! When you click its a vr video on export does that let you upload to CZcams and people can look around 360? If so what forma does it export in?
Thanks :) The VR option is for 360 videos, so when you've not used the reframe into 16:9 - I'll be putting up a short video about the 360 settings soon too.
Gadget John do you offer tuition? Im new and need some help. Also in the UK
Yes I do, please feel free to get in touch via my website www.gadgetjohn.uk 👌
Would love to know the sequence settings for 3k 60fps footage..
I’d put that on a 1080p 30 FPS timeline, so you can slow it down and the quality would still be fine 👍🏼
Great video - I record from my Fusion in 5.2K. Whenever I render my videos into Cineform I cannot play them on any other player. When I import them into Premiere Pro the footage replay is very choppy. Everything works fine when I render in H264. Do you have any suggestions on what I can try out? I think it may be a codec issue but I cannot find a link to obtain a reliable codec. I have the same issue with Prores
Use the GoPro Player for viewing (new software coming soon from GoPro). As far as choppy editing, have you tried creating proxy files?
After that. How can you upload this video to social networking sites? Can you make another video please?
great video ! which way are the lens pointing ?
It’s a 360 camera, the lenses see everything so you don’t point then as such. It’s all directed in the edit.
okay what I meant was were was the front camera facing and rear camera facing ?
How do I keep one angle on the footage, without having to keyframe it back to the frame when moving around?
Set stabilization to "anti-shake".
What screen recording tool did you use?
It’s ZD Screen Recorder www.zdsoft.com/
