In the newest movie the end kind of shows a cliff hanger sooo I thing Addison is an alien lol
You say that, but there are a lot of issues that make these movies problematic. One thing that I keep thinking about is how zombies are supposed to represent racial groups, most notably Jewish and African people, yet portrays them as monsters that look human but aren't. There's also the bracelets used to keep them from going berserk. Having the zombies be inherently dangerous that will cause harm to the humans, who are represented as the typical upper-middle class white American, and their property with something issued by the state to keep them civilized and under control probably isn't the best thing to have in a movie that's an allegory for racial issues. While these movies may have the best intentions, their message ends up having an opposite effect when viewed at with a more critical eye.
This is so much better than Twilight. 😂 The songs in it are bangers, tbh. The kind that get stuck in your head.

Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Addison comparing her own troubles of fitting in to the zombies' plight of being oppressed didn't go over too well for some viewers. Remember: The zombies have a curfew, are heavily discriminated against and have to fight for the most basic human rights, while Addison - has white hair. *That she can easily cover up. Yep, totally the same.*

i only casually saw this movie one night when i was staying in a hotel with some friends for her 21st birthday and only saw parts of it, so i always thought she was secretly half zombie....seeing this commentary with only that in mind, i was surprised she wasnt? it would've made more sense.
THIS! I didn’t like the white-hair part because it’s so unnecessary and trivial. Unnecessary because she shouldn’t have to be secretly odd to be more compassionate, and trivial because having an odd hair color is nothing compared to facing discrimination.

The second movie is actually better. They toned down the autotune in Milo's voice and the dancing numbers are so much better. One of the songs in zombies 2(Flesh and Bone) hit 1milion views during the protests from George Floyd's death and once you hear it you will understand. One fun Disney movie to watch, roast or whatever during Halloween is Girl VS Monster
The second one is worse in my opinion. They’re doing too much with this world that makes no sense. Introducing a new enemy that just didn’t exist until the plot needed it too was stupid. I like the plot but that’s all the second one offers. The jokes are more cringey too

Twilight…😂 I’d say Zombies 2 is like Twilight, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Doing more DCOMs Billy, I love it! Zombies is such a good one. My favorite song is definitely BAMM with Someday being a close second. They’re currently filming the third one I think, so hopefully you can do it next year. So hyped for this!!

I actually love it too and I’m 29 currently meaning I was in my 20s when I saw it and found elements to enjoy. The duet, the way they made the world of cheer and Zoombies work and the energy was contagious.
The head cheerleader guy (Trevor Tordjman) is a professional dancer, he is a main character in a show called the next step, and it a BEAST at street and tumbling, but actually pretty on point in the other styles too.

Technically, zombies was a tv show pilot in 2011 called “zombie and cheerleaders”, way before descendants was developed, so descendants would be a rip-off of zombies

Cheerleaders are supposed to look stiff. In cheer competitions, they get points deducted for not looking stiff, and it helps with safety.

This movie is a phenomenal way to introduce the topics of racial segregation and prejudice to kids so they can grasp the concept, then transition into real history.
I mean there were also prejudice and segregation based on religion AFTER coming to America, AFTER segregation for race was over, but no one talks about that...
Personally, I think it had the right intentions but the fact zombies are a legitimate threat (zed can fall over and turn into a literal monster that eats humans) is a little out of taste if you take that as a metaphor for people who are discriminated against. Like in the movie, the humans had a pretty legit reason to be afraid of the zombies. I get that it would probably be a hard thing to get around since they want it to be about zombies, but it basically justifies racism 💀

NOOO NOT THIS MOVIE!!!! The little girl I babysit gets obsessed with movies for like a month at a time. This was the latest. She’d make me watch it like 3 times a day and when she wasn’t watching the movie she was watching clips of the dances. I’m pretty sure I can quote this movie now lol.
Halloween related I think to recommend is a movie called “Paranorman” and is actually the same studio that brought in “Coraline” (the studio being called “Laika”) also after when your done with those stuff try to watch a movie called “Kubo & the two strings”also brought by “Laika”

My 13 year old and I are cracking up. You are too funny! I had my head phones on and she heard me laughing. I told her what I was watching and she told me to take out the jack so she can hear it! She's always making fun of their dancing and certain things they say and do. When you said how you were going to do the second one she wanted to hear your opinion about the wolves. She thinks it's weird how the only thing that shows they're wolves are their howl and sharp teeth. Where are their ears and tails.

*Fun fact: they tried to make this a tv series first back in the mid 2000s but testing shows flopped so they pulled it from premiering. It was going to be called Zombies and Cheerleaders and premise was a bit different.*
Descendants and Z-O-M-B-I-E-S are similar in many ways, but the hidden theme of Descendants is closer classism (in their case, The Hood lol) and generations behaviours, stereotypes about criminals, how kids take after their parent's bad habits and figuring how to break negative behavioural cycles.
This movie's hidden theme is clean-cut racism (speciesism) and about how kids can and should be kind to other people and their cultures. I also find the trilogy tells us we can embrace our own cultures and others without compromising who we are or being ashamed/hiding of our differences (eg: Zed vs Eliza) ❤❤❤
