Been watching your videos for a while now. Caught my first like a few days ago around 27 inches and my second today at 24. Keep up the good work man!
That's awesome man! I'm glad to hear that. Keep it up!
Not many people are dedicated pike fishermen, glad I found this channel.
Thanks for the tips Man Im on the hunt for some river pike in the GMR this year. The Challenge is On!
Great, as usual. Would you consider doing a video about lure selection based on time of year, i.e. what might work better in spring vs. summer vs. fall?
Love your video's. cheers from Quebec Canada !
Nice. Great to see ol Dare Devil at work. Surprised mosquitoes out so fierce. Not yet here in West MI yet but with all this darn rain soon I’m sure. Do a vid showing how you handle those pike so effortlessly. Impressive
I love the Mepps Syclops because you can catch so many different species with it.
Great video, exciting
Awesome vid man, you probably remember me from commenting on some other videos but I live in the U.P. and pike, walleye, perch fishin is great here. You should definitely take a trip up north here.
I'd love to make a trip up there! Possibly this summer.
Get some cammermile tea leaves and shove a load in your pockets, every time I'm bit by the flies I get an allergic reaction and go into anaphylactic shock and swell up like a balloon and can die.
I shove a load of this in my pockets and touch wood even in the highlands of Scotland I don't get bitten.
Best thing to do is look at the ingredients of what supposed to disperse them and test the individual components and then make your own because all of the company's that sell the spray water them down to meet overhead costs.
Cammermile and teetree oils.
Great video.
Fish with berkley powerbait ripple shad, minimum 3.5" they are amazing ive caught insane amount of pike in the last month
I'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion.
Nice i just ordered the 20 cm version
@@stan.o99 Does it work good? Cause I'm trying to catch my first Pike.
Hey thank you for the tip on bait to use. Was wondering if you have a favorite colour that works?
I just caught my first pike yesterday. Honestly im so happy i was there at the right place at the right time. I was using a neon green/ green spinnerbait
Bro congrats I’m going pike fishing tomorrow I’m hoping to catch a nice one.
I like the bigger paddletail silicone lures and spoons, spinners for pike fishing but the rapalas are also rlly rlly rlly rlly gooooood
I'm hoping to try some larger silicone lures this summer!
In SE Michigan near me, pike are a bit harder to come by. I caught my first 3 pike in the same hour a few days ago. I fish for sharks several times a year and to be honest, the pike was more difficult to handle. I really struggled to get the hooks out. It all ended up fine with the pike released, but would you ever consider a video showing the best ways to handle/ unhook pike? I have followed this channel for a long time now, and love watching it grow. Tight lines bro!
Congrats on your first pike! And thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to mention that in a future pike video. Thanks for watching!
Thank you. I appreciate that
Great video, helps me out alot ☺
I'm glad you liked it!
I’ve had about 20 pike in my first season (UK) none big mostly using soft plastic realistic lures
All lures look good nice video
I do good on Gary Yamamoto flukes to River situation, a lot cheaper too. Great video!
Interesting, I've used flukes before but the pike always tore them up so I went through them a lot faster. I'll check out those ones though
Peelindrag they do tear them up but get to for a dollar out of a bargain bin at Meijer or Walmart.
For some reasons daredevils never do it for me for pike. All I ever got on it was an 18 inch smallmouth and a tiny musky. Spinnerbaits crush and so do inline spinners.
hey man you live in Michigan right? Do you recommend the Little thorneapple river? I live in Charlotte! My dad's PB pike is 41 inches at 13 pounds! good stuff!
Never underestimate a red and white daredevil. I've caught my largest on them.
Lmao a "tree pounder" never heard that one before 🤣🤣
You have a suspending stick bait, and a floater laying in front of you-- same pattern.
Which one gets tied on?
I'm not confident in my stick bait game. I never feel like I'm in the right rhythm or if I'm dragging it to far...
My default is a spinner, but it makes perfect sense when you explain why the stickbait is stronger at the last few cranks.
I always use suspending unless I'm in really shallow/snaggy areas. I typically just do two short snaps or jerks of the rod then let it sit for second. If you can keep an eye on the lure while your doing that, it helps a lot to see how your movements cause the lure to move. Good luck!
Nice vid. I love your river pike videos
Thanks Seth!
Is hawk island good for bass and pike
I haven't fished there recently but there aren't any pike. Bass fishing can be good under the right conditions.
Ok thanks
Some other great Pike lures: Johnson Silver Minnow, Mepps Timber Doodle, Mepps Double Blade Aglia, Rapala Jointed Minnow, Booyah Pikee Spinnerbait, Terminator Snagless In-Line Spinner, Chatterbait, Northland BIONIC BUCKTAIL JIG
Master Baiter white rooster tails 1oz worked great today
I use a multi jointed pike lures my favourites are Ricky the western roach or mike the pike
Awesome!!
Pike on flies soon? And great vid as always!
Hopefully, just waiting on the river to lower.
Great video! You should do only topwater video for pike!
I'll be doing some of that this summer for sure!
Peelindrag I had a perfect frog day last week, zero wind at sunset and had a bunch of little hammer handles smacking a kaitech crazy flapper frog
also u should use KastKing equipment! I'm 14 and that's what I use! Best reels on the market
Sometimes it's the ones that bite gently you wanna watch out for.
nice!
I have a hard challenge for you try to catch a pike on the storm wildeye bluegill swimbait you can get a pack at walmart
If you get a chance try the shimano casistas, i paired it with a abu veritas rod and another curado k with an abu veritas, awsome reel and rods but the casistas for about half the price is better
When I'm fishing the rivers I try to stick to cheap equipment because it can easily get broken when fishing and walking through the woods. I've heard good things about the Casitas though!
Good Pike video 👍
Thanks for watching!
another nice video
Thanks man!
You should try some gliders and bigger rubber lures, like Svartzonker lures :)
Thanks for the suggestion!
Can t go wrong with a firetiger
It's a great color for sure!
Albert Mcmanus Jr it’s great but would rather use a roachcolored bait in clear water, or brackish water where I fish:)!
Can’t go wrong with a buster jerk:)!
Are they good for shallow water? I've heard about them a little.
What river is this?
I'd love to see you try some savage gear 3d or 4d models
I fished with the 3D duck and rat last summer in a few videos. I'll be doing more for sure!
Might try to get a pike this weekend, will they hang around structure or current?
Look for slower moving or still water. Good luck!
45 Fishing pike tend to sit in slack water areas, many times right up against the bank. They are ambush hunters and wait for baitfish and crawdads to get carried past in the current.
See if you can get yourself some savage gear 4 play jerk/crank baits. Would be interesting to see how they perform in the US
I picked up a big swim bait they make, but I'll look into those specific ones.
Peelindrag 4d trout, real eel etc please bro! :D
Good video.
I'm glad you liked it!
I catch alot of pike when it rains
Gonna need about TREE fitty
Original gold 15 spinner works best
"Lmao ""this ones a wimp""
Any advice on pike in deeper muddy rivers
@Strider 2216 good to go I've used 2 live shad today and a panfish I caught in a cast net all have been ripped off my hook currently using the magnun wiggle wart no luck yet
Bardzo fajny film
What state do you live in
what do you recommended for pike in deep rivers areas?
Barry Jones I’ve been having luck on skirted jigs with compact shad style trailers- easy to fish from the bank too
Barry Jones in Europe for big river pikes I go with savage gear 3d laketrout
I haven't done much pike fishing deeper than 6-7ft in rivers. But I would try some sort of big swim jig or a larger swim bait rigged weedless so you can fish it more on the bottom.
I'll give you also the big weapon for pike that you can rig weedles 3D real eel , in Holland and Austria this lure gives really good results
Aerosol bug repellent doesn't work for $#!T try stuff called "Pyranha fly spray" or any horse fly spray. (Pyranha is the least smelly though) It has a strong smell but works AMAZING just wear some old work clothes and spray a little bit on them. It's not great for your skin either so be careful.
just use a little and mosquitoes, flies, ticks, anything won't even want to go near you.
try it out, the effectiveness FAR outweighs the cons. LOL i don't even use that oily can spray stuff anymore.
you can buy it at any horse tack store if you're interested.
Wow thanks for letting me know about that! I'll definitely check it out cause I'm not a fan of the oily spray either..
The spoon you threw at the start works but is probably the worst color spoon to use
Really I’ve caught tons of pike over the years with the daredevil
What pond line do you use
Pound*
good job you are nice
Bug spray just keeps the skeeters from landing on you and biting. They will still swarm and buzz around your head. Lol
They'll always find a way to get ya!
I was fishing and I missed a fish 4 TIMES! And then I finally hooked and then....... he broke off
Man, I'm sorry to hear that! Better luck next time!
Put on a bigger lure. A bright color
You forgot the best reason to fish jerkbaits. They’re just plain fun to fish!
You got that right!
Where r u from
Michigan
👍 From Ukranian
You ever eat a pike?
What a great channel
I'm glad you like it!
Ever catch pickerel? They are fun and easy to catch.
I've caught a few, but there aren't many in the areas I fish.
Peelindrag what state/province do you fish?
Michigan, from what I've heard they're slightly more common in southern Michigan.
All your catching is hammer handles...
Can't always get the big ones unfortunately. Just makes it all the more special when you do hook up with a 30-40".
You want to help your self buy a CD left handed reel. You spend a lot of time switching hands.
Buddy, Buddy, Buddy, it’s a Red Devil... not a red and white spoon
Buddy buddy buddy, If it's what your trying to correct him on it's actually a dardevle spelled that way and he says it a number of times. So you must not have watched but 5 seconds. Buddy buddy buddy.
