Excellent trailer, terrific buy. I like the fact that you didn't just settle for what was available. You customized it to suit your needs making your life easier. Your details given in the comments below to Zagan are impeccable. Thanks for sharing.

Nice trailer! I have 4 trailers that I tow with a Chevy 1500. My tilt deck is 16ft with a single 7k dexter axle. I use it for my Massey Ferguson 1739E TLB.

You have a 16ft trailer with one 7k axle and you haul a tractor on it? Weird. Tandem 3,500lb axles would ride better and offer improved braking and redundancy plus allow tongue weight to be set more accurately and easily.

Cam superline's are epoxy primer and polyurethane paint not power coat. Or you can get them hot dipped galvanized.

why do guys make these videos then dont share what it costs , ? i mean to internet surfer cost is mostly how we narrow down our selection process,, so im guessing since a typical 20 foot tilt trailer is about 4 or 5000 that since this is a higher end model im guessing 8000 for everything in the video ...

Looks like a good made trailer, but i think axles are too far forward.

That hasn’t been my experience. My experience has been that the trailer has been engineered perfectly. I’ve had my 5740 with Grapple bucket and Rotary mower loaded on the trailer and it hauls and tows perfectly fine. No complaints.

Nice video. Not sure how this is a "tutorial" when it's only 2 minutes long.

How long do you feel a video should be of a trailer? 1 hour? What questions do you have?

    • @ZaganStoanes
      @ZaganStoanes Před 7 lety

I feel like it was a feature spot light more than it was a tutorial. By all means the features you mentioned are very nice and it is a very nice video.
I don't feel it should be to long but it should cover all of it's features and how they work.
What are the other button's on the remote. I know you say it cover's the winch in and out along with the up and down but what do the other button's do, I'm guessing they are the power buttons.
Did the winch come with it and what's the brand of winch?
What is the recommended gvwr and gcwr that the trailer company suggests for a tow vehicle for the trailer.
And of course what's the rough cost of the trailer with all of the features you got?

      Zagan,
Thank you for the questions. Perhaps I should have made the video a bit longer and bit more comprehensive. If I am a bit redundant with some of the aspects of the video, please forgive me. Some of the exact specifications I did not have committed to memory and I will state them below. I have looked them up for you. I admire your attention span and desire for details. More than most. Hence your request for details.
On the remote, it works from up to 200 ft away, the round button is power on, the triangle is power off. The other two buttons are for deck up and down and the other two for winch in and out. The winch is a 12 ton Superwinch brand with a 100 ft, 3/8, hook and cable. In addition to the wireless remote, it comes with a 25 foot hardwire control for the winch, coiled up in the aluminum tool box in front of the trailer and for the tilt bed, a hardwired handheld control that is removable and located in the tool box as well. With the wireless control, there is not much use for the hardwired controls, but either will can be used. The winch plate is on rollers to prevent chafing on the deck. The winch and power deck is powered by two 12 volt marine batteries located with the hydraulic pump in the aluminum tool box in the front of the trailer. There is also a 110volt automatic trickle charger integrated in the tool box.
This is a 7 ton, 14,000 equipment hauler with a GVWR of 16,100 lbs, empty weight: approximately 4000 lb, Payload: 12,000 lb, deck height 17 inches, Overall width: 102 inches, each axle is a Dexter 7000 lb axle with electric brakes on both axles with 4 inch drop, tire size 235/80R16LRE, Main frame: 6" X 4" X 3/8 angle, Crossmembers: 3" channel @ 4.1#, Tongue: 6" Channel @ 10.5#
Standard are diamond plate fenders, LED lights rubber mounted, in place of the standard 2 5/16 coupler I chose the Pintle hook instead (much stronger), 8 stake pockets, 3 inch thick oak deck, 2 banjo eye tie downs on back of trailer, solar charged breakaway, 7 way RV style wiring plug, the paint is epoxy primer and a PPG Polyurethane paint finish and can be ordered in all basic colors, including Caterpillar yellow. I chose "Caterpillar gloss black" The trailer can be ordered in custom colors also for an additional charge.
Other options, I chose to have ordered, included a 12,000 lb front jack, in place of the standard, 7000 lb bolt on jack, I ordered the spare tire and wheel, I ordered the spare tire mount and chose not to use it because it went on the front of the trailer and I thought it looked ugly from photos. If going on long trips, I put it in the pick up bed. The trailer came undercoated, factory installed mudflaps, fork lift tread package, I requested 6 5/8 D-Ring tie downs, two each side front, center, & rear of trailer bed deck.
A 16 foot trailer is standard, I opted for the 20 foot option. When loading my Kubota L5740 with front end loader, bucket and 72 inch rotary mower I need the whole 20 foot length. The tractor and mower fits fine and is well worth the money for the extra length. A 20 foot trailer will do everything a 16 foot trailer will do but not visa versa. Also I see no reason for a split deck trailer. That is just a waste to me not to have the whole deck tilt. The only option I passed on was the aluminum rim option. The 5 rims were a $2500.00 option for all five wheels. If one ever was damaged or bent it would be 500 to replace each one and we must remember this is an equipment hauler and not a RV trailer or cargo trailer. I thought the white steel rims looked fine and are much cheaper to replace if one had to be.
I won't get into price but this trailer was worth every dime I paid for it and was better quality from the other brands I looked at and it was price competitive dollar for dollar. As we say, you get what you pay for. Yes, there are cheaper trailers out there, and they are built cheaper. I believe Cam Superline has a build your trailer option on their website. The trailer pulls beautifully. When empty it feels like there is no trailer in back of the truck.
I hope I have covered everything. Any further questions, ask away!
      Charles

Thank you very much for the information. I'm sorry if it was a bit of work to find out but those stat's are very nice to know. I miss My home made car trailer. It was no where near as fancy as your's but it was a good 22' in length. I was able to put a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck with plow on it.
