  • Muslim women suffer from the same inequalities as other women. In most Western countries, they are also the main targets of Islamophobic hate crimes, hate speech and violence, especially if they wear a headscarf. In today’s world, the rights and freedom of Muslim women to dress and live as they want to is increasingly under attack around the world. The hijab, for some a symbol of freedom, for others, of oppression, has become an increasingly fraught political symbol.
In this panel, we discuss three countries that have hit the headlines in recent months due to the clash between state and the freedom of Muslim women to dress in the manner they choose: France, Afghanistan and India. Our panel, chaired by equalities campaigner Akeelah Ahmed MBE, will examine the intersectional challenges Muslim women face around the world.
Secure a seat at this urgent event, featuring award-winning international public speaker on Muslim issues and global feminism writer Mona Eltahawy; English-French academic and broadcaster Myriam François, and author of the critically-acclaimed book Mothering a Muslim, Nazia Erum.

Not only her I think reverts who are not supported by the Muslim community feel lonely goes back to normalcy.. spacially liberal value is contradictory to traditional Islam moral.. exm : the age of consent in Islam (when she defended the age of Ayesha claiming"she was 18/19 teen yor") still not ideal for her modernist liberal western world view because she accuse Russel brands of ra pp that teen (18) And said any men above 30+ with teen is not ok with her .. and 2nd prob she said "she is not a literalist"..

@@user-mj9gn1tq8othe pendulum always swings to the other side, since Christianity has collapsed, the population will inevitably accept Islam and Myriam is a minority of Muslim women, most White convert women wear hijab, actually they're more likely to wear niqab forget hijab😂 so boy do I have bad news for the original comment

Actually Islam has progressed with the times, due to so much criticisms.
But for most of all history it was a very coercive and violent religion.
In the modern times, there are two major types of Islam interpretation:
1.) Modern -- more open and does not punish their believers or force their beliefs to others
2.) Archaic /Old-- punish every one who does not obey, and must force their beliefs....
"If People are good because they fear punishment and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed.” - Albert Einstein.
