Congrats! Back in 1979 when I was 17 my parents bought a fixer upper house. Every afternoon when I got out of government school I headed there to perform whatever needed done that I was big enough to do. Mom worked 3-11 so it was mostly me and my dad. The house had been a rental, so you can guess the condition. The house was quite solid, overall, just needed about three million roaches eradicated, and some beautification. Good luck.
CONGRATULATIONS 🎉
WILL is going to be making the best content on his cabin now!
Oh yeah I can’t wait
will is going to let his 2 dogs die like his last one and quit after 9 months like the last place
@videogames9972 lmao dude, the jealousy is real with you. You comment on many different videos, and every time, your lack of knowledge makes you hate yourself, so you comment your feelings. lol get a life
@@videogames9972 negative nancy like most. gg
@@videogames9972 Go outside, stop playing video games all day. 😂
Congratulations on closing the deal. 🤜🤛
It'll be interesting to see a before and after on that old school house.
Whoopadeedoo! Congratulations Nate!
Will and Jesse have done a great job already getting together all that trash and clearing the weeds, a massive improvement on what it was like on your first video there.
Onwards and upwards now. Let's get cracking
🏠 🍾 😁
Will and Jesse have done so much clean up..
"Trash into Treasure with Nate."
I'm here for it.
Not sure why, but I love that little house. Thank you for at least considering restoring it instead of just immediately tearing it down.
Same
As long as the block outer walls are sound and anything in them isn't super expensive in either time or labor, I say, tear out the rot and rebuild.
Fair point. It might be faster than repairing and patching such large sections inside. Maybe not, I’m sure he’s gonna do what’s best for his time.
@@liamevans7661best for his time is correct. Just not efficient. He may purposefully take the long hard route for fun/content.
Woohoo!! Congratulations Nate!! 🎉🎉🎉💙💙💙
I give you all the kudos in the world for that renovation that needs all that work! If it were me, I’d just bulldoze it and start over. Lol
Same
Renovation has two purposes. Content AND home repair/improvement instruction !
@@paulinelarson465 better for the environment than a knockdown and stand up too
It’s cute and has character. It’s an old school house, so has some history. I think it will be charming but I’m English and we restore everything.
Especially after seeing how many needles will picked up
I think it'll be very interesting to tear out that dry wall. Such an old building, I wonder if it's hiding anything.
😅
I was thinking about that, too!
Flipped houses with garden hose for water lines are the best!
My dad was a construction worker for over 30 year's, i cant wait to see when this is done!!! It would look nice as a cabin style home. Thats cool it was a school house! I love hearing history of homes or empty propertys.
Congratulations! I'm so happy it worked out. I guess I don't remember you saying before it was a one room school house. That's even cooler. I have faith in you, you'll do it at your own pace. 😊
Nate, that place is on the cusp of remodel and tear-down start over. What a project.
Hope you get lots of help to get things up to snuff quickly and can enjoy your new home & property.
Woo Hoo !!
Good for you❗️ It was a journey to close on the property and will be a journey to improve it❗️
I am sure everyone will enjoy watching the transformation and Will’s content.
Agree on flipping, Nate. I can't do stuff half-assed either. "Don't start vast projects with half-vast ideas."
I normally don't comment but you are doing a great job.I am very envious of your life.I think you are doing wonderful & wish i had the initiative to do half of what you do.Good luck with everything you touch.
Congrats on this new project Nate! Also thank you for saving an old school house/historic building. I wish you all the very best in its restoration and refreshing. It’s going to look amazing when you’re done.
The way you talk about how the construction of the houses let me know you know what you’re talking about
I second this 🤘 I also like to take what he says to heart and it’s actually helped in little ways
He should know what he’s talking about. He’s a former Contractor.
@stunmi i’d be more spesific? He is literally explaining some of the stuff he will do? You a bot?😅🤖
@@scout06171hahaha. You’re right! But have you ever met a contractor :P just saying 😅
I’m just saying I know people that try and use big buzz word to sound smart and show off that they know more then others, I didn’t get that vibe from Nate at all
Congrats now Willy can start on it
I might not know what I'm talking about, but was the first floor built to low too the ground with no moisture barrier, which lead to the floor rotting? If so, and you repair the place, how will you avoid that happening again? Will you dig out a crawlspace and install vapor barrier and ventilation?
I love the old one room houses, it's nice to keep the history. I can see the potential, so excited to see some renos now and then.
That's awesome,it reminds me of the Clampets old place😊👍👍👍
This is great news! I love to see you doing great things
Good morning people ☕️
Morning from BC Canada 🇨🇦
Let’s GOOOO. More land for the Kingdom!
Such great news, Nate! 👏 ❤
Burry that trash, lol. Some adventures folks in the future will have fun dogging it up! 😅
Congratulations! Seems like a LOT of work. Don t forget to make TIME to relax!
I'm a 26 year old man and love your advice and guidance Nate. You remind me exactly of my deceased uncle. You're a man worth more than your weight in gold on the fact alone you teach men how to fish instead of giving him a fish! What you're doing for will is monumental in his growth as a man!
You guys rock, and you're Earth angels for letting Will build up there! Good people, would love to meet you guys and hang out!
I rather see someone try to salvage an old place than just build new. There’s history in these old buildings and some people had a lot of blood sweat tears and pride poured into what they built. Keep living the dream!
Don’t tear it down. Please. If it’s feasible I think it will be so charming. An old schoolhouse will have so much character once you fix it up.
And the idea of it being a type of school again (Nate’s homesteading school) during the renovation is awesome.
yes. imagine the skill for that masonry and foundation to survive as long as it did.
I think tearing down major portions will be up to what's structurally sound moreso than personal preference. A building that old probably has a lot of rotted wood, mold, animal infestations, etcetera
From what he said in said video it sounds like he wants to keep it, it just depends if he actually is able to
I think it’s gonna look great when it’s finished. You can see its potential. Well done!
Congratulations Nate! So looking forward to watching this happen!
Cool, Good on you, that's great. Expanding the domain!! 🎉🐕🐈🦆🐱
Awesome! Hopefully there aren't too many piping and material rot issues. I agree that it will be this will be a lil vacation spot!
Congratulations Nate!!
Congratulations on the house. It will all work out fine whichever route you take
Lotsa learning there, step one...cup of coffee .😊
Maybe 2 cups😂
I am so excited to see this become a vacation rental! All the cool things you and Jen are going to think of😁
Congratulations!!!! Your patience was well worth it!!
Woohoo! 🎉 Congratulations Nate. Knew you had the patience to hang in there 😁 so so chuffed for you. Lord Minions kingdom has just doubled in size, hope Az is up to the challenge 😂
Congratulations so happy for you, lots of work ahead of you,but you know this,as you were a contractor, so you will get it,looking just great 👍
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Hold on to the windows, there could be a sweet greenhouse in the future!
Great news !! , now you can both get stuck in , good luck with it 🤞
I love how resourceful you are, McGyvering the junkyard parts you find. Please keep it up as you fix up your next home.
I am currently rebuilding an abandoned house so this is perfect for me lol I can't ADHD and watch will without being reminded what needs to be done lol.
Congrats!! Glad you persevered
Congratulations.
Congratulations!!
I've definitely heard of lick and stick yellow stickers (a yearly safety inspection we do on big trucks in Canada) but never heard of a lick and stick house flip. Sounds kinda cool 😂👍🇨🇦🔧
Just from humidity, that bowing could "hopefully" just be the drywall kind of hanging down sorta.
There's a lot of work to be done to it, but it looks like it will be worth it. I look forward to the bits and pieces of updates.
Happy for you and Will survives
FINALLY! Congratulations!
Congrats! Looking forward to your updates!
Excited to see what it will look like when its done.
Yaaaayyyyyyy......much good luck with it Nate!!!!!! ☀️
Congratulations on your second homestead, I am sure it’s been a long road and frustrating. ❤❤❤❤
congratulations on the house. it seems to be the place to start building the life that you want. one Thoughtful step at a time.
Yay I'm soooo happy for you sir and I know Will has your back nate.. 😊 ☺️ I'm proud to be here to be watching
Congratulations Nate! I love how chill you are about this. You are good for people like me with anxiety! Thanks!
Nice one Nate and Gang. Keep calm and homestead on !! Best wishes from the CHANNEL ISLANDS UK
Congratulations!! I've been watching your videos for awhile, and I am so happy for you!🎉
I'm really happy for you Nate,
Can't wait to see what you do with the place! I couldn't think of a better person for the job
Oh happy day! Glad the closing deal went well
Glad you are able to get started.
Awesome! Congrats! Can’t wait to see what you and Will do moving forward!
I would absolutely Love that! Make it all your own, so much love and effort put into a place like that. It will be flourishing and boisterous in no time at all!
Congratulations on the new property. 🎉
It might be fun to incorporate some of the one room school house in the renovation
Good luck to you and yours, Sir!
Way to Go Nate! It's interesting seeing the process overall and now I'm stoked to see Will get to working on his place as well as demo work on this old Schoolhouse.
This is going to be great !!! Love renovation/remodel shows especially if the buildings are old like this lil school house. Good for you sir.
I'm invested I wanna see this building get restored
Happy to see this. Will sounded so frustrated on a recent short. Hopefully only great things for both of you from here
Congratulations Nate 😊
Looks like it will be a nice house 😊
“….well if I had a flash light…wait a minute… can I, while recording!?…. AHUHH YEAH!…”
The joy of Nate discovering features
doesn't matter why or anything. Only thing that matters is doing new and different things, or just because you love to. Happy trails
When you have the know how and you're doing the labor yourself fixing up a dellapdated house isn't a big deal. My grandfather fixed up at least 4 such family houses. The supplies were collected over the years so the cost was pretty low, plus lumber is plentiful in the woods lol.
Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉 know the projects can begin awesome news
if can get it structurally safe you could always use it as storage
I've been watching wills channel from the beginning and yours just as long, I can see you're genuinely helping Will and looking out for him without personal expectations. You're a good man and I support you and what you are doing fully. Keep it up, you're inspiring many
Finally! Youve been going through so much closing hassle glad its done!
Woo hoo!! 🎉 CONGRATS!! 💖
We have a lot of termites in my area & corrosive sea air, & marine layer fog coming in nightly most of the year. A house like that would be eaten up and corroded. Here in central California, the contractor would take the floors up & check the utility pipes and replace any old busted ones where they run under the house. Replace old corroded by the sea-air water pipes with new copper, & old pipes to the toilets with pvc, and then pour a concrete foundation in sections until its completely concrete & stable under the house, because beams down there would just get eaten. Even the gophers out here will mound up the dirt to the beams & chew on wood. Chewed a hole right up through the bottom of my raised bed garden that was on short legs. I’d have to take the house down to studs as well & replace termite eaten beams & boards. Out here, the county wants to send an inspector out to sign off on each step of the process. And before anyone reading this complains, Nate just told you about flippers giving people a bad house that they didn’t really fix. That is full of expenses that the owner hid & also ties up the court system. Its better to have a fully inspected home. We even have inspection before you sell a non-busted home, just to make sure it isn’t busted and give the buyer a chance to either back out or ask for a lower price if they agree to take the burden of fixing it. I don’t mind the inspectors because I have nothing to hide. We’re currently in the process of fixing up the old house we’re in so we can sell & move to the new manufactured home we had built & shipped to the mesa with a sea view. There are also building codes out here for different types of houses. You couldn’t get a permit to put a built house on the slope we put this manufactured home on, but you could put a manufactured or a mobile home there. I don’t know why, maybe its because they are movable, lighter? Before a buyer closes on our old home, we have to tent for termites to even keep them from going in the attic if they aren’t already damaging it, and a couple guys come through checking everything in the house & submit a report to the buyer which we get a copy of. They may ask for a lower price if they would have to repair something, but you can say no, say its for sale at that price as is. If they don’t want to fix it, they can go somewhere else and you keep a copy of the report and keep looking for a buyer. Generally we have come down on price for replacement of an oven or some minor repair we didn’t know about, as we keep our home in good repair.
Careful with those tiles, they look like VCT, but they could contain asbestos, beware the window caulk as well.
Congrats 🍾 I can’t wait to watch you turn this into something special.
Keep it up Nate I love you trying to preserve the history there
Make sure you put a transfer switch on the electrical
I'm a little surprised the house seems to have been pretty much abandoned for ~50+ years but it has a relatively modern tv satellite dish on the chimney! (well, might be ~30 years old).
Congratulations on your new purchase that’s exciting news to hear love your channel it’s fun to watch someone’s dreams happen in real time
There is always work to be done!
I'm excited to see what you do!! Do some metal detection before you put that new floor in, you might find some treasures!
Nate, That is awesome!!! GREAT INVESTMENT!!! I would not flip it either. Build it to your specifications and enjoy. They don’t make land/property anymore. So, enjoy the investment!
That’s great news Nate now you and will can finally start making content over there 😊
Happy for you, Nate. I hope it turns out wonderful.
Fantastic Nate.
I suggest rebuilding the addition. It could provide an area to move the staircase to. But you know how those outer walls are more than i.
