Man I’m glad I found your channel. Your not only an awesome guitar player, your a great guitar teacher also. There’s not many people on CZcams that will take the time and break every note down like you do . Great teaching man. I appreciate it, and I’m sure many other people do too
I'm glad you found me!! I work hard to try and get accurate lessons - so I hope you enjoy!! Thank you for the kind note ~ My Best ~ Joe
@@gtrjoe1901 THANK YOU
JOE, thank you joe. I wouldn't have learned this without your teachings
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much. My Best ~ Joe
Thanks for the comprehensive lesson! Great job breaking down some of the little details that most people don’t even realize are there. All Skynyrd songs have a lot more going on then you realize because all three guitarists are just so in sync and play what’s going to make the song better.
Glad it was helpful! I love working out those little details - I think if you're going to do a lesson - do it to the best of your ability so everyone can enjoy playing a great song!!! I appreciate your time and kind comment. ~ My Best ~ Joe
1:57 intro

thanks for the awesome vid!

@@gtrjoe1901 I found a tape of myself playing a 1 man show wearing a home made loin cloth, Ted Nugent stlye. Except it was horrible! Your was awesome!
Oh my gosh - that's so funny!! Thanks for the laugh!
Hey Joe!
This is such a great classic man, thanks again for all your hard work doing this…really!
You and your family have a fantastic Christmas and even a better New Year 🤙
Thanks so much!! Happy Holidays to You & Yours!! My Very Best ~ Joe
@@gtrjoe1901 , thanks so much. Your tutorials are awesome Joe ( I know I’m repeating myself here too but I can’t emphasize it enough! ) you explain it well enough that even a head strong beginner can learn to play the damn thing! 😄 - Not to even mention you actually teach the entire song unlike most of these tutorials will kinda teach you a piece of it that maybe contains the main riff or chord structure and they consider it done. My ear is definitely not nearly as trained as yours are so for me to pick it apart would take me a brutal amount of time LOL! Anyhow I’m getting real long winded here so I’ll just finish this by saying thanks again and have a fantastic holiday.
Great work, as usual, Joe. Love that guitar.
Thanks, it's my new '57 reissue ~ LOVE IT, the custom buckers are great pick ups! My Best ~ Joe
Awesome as usual, Joe!

@@gtrjoe1901 Yes! You sound very accurate with your lessons. Jesus Christ loves you and have a wonderful day joe.
Super song, sweet lesson
Glad to help ~ My Best ~ joe
Thanks so much for this lesson, learning this for a performance at school
Glad you liked it! Always happy to help play a great song. Good Luck w the performance!!! My Very Best ~ Joe
Damn man. I too have played this wrong for so so long. I saw an interview with Gary in late 70's he said he hated playing the same thing twice and he proved it. Great sound by the way. So many guitarists try to megadeth skynyrd with distortion and it isnt right. Gary played his 59 Les paul plugged straight into a Peavey amp.😮
I'm so glad to help!! Yeah, with my lessons - I strive for the correct tone, just to add some authenticity to what I have to "show" for the lesson. I'm glad you noticed that!! I appreciate the kind note. ~ My Very Best ~ Joe
You are a stud.
Your damn good teacher I like the way you play I mean the way you teach too. You break it down good
Thank you so much! It's a joy and that shows. ~ My Best ~ Joe
Fuck yeah dude! You play this right!
Thanks - I put a lot into my lessons just to get them right!! My Best ~ Joe
Joe… awesome lesson. What are your amp settings?? Sounds absolutely killer.
Thanks!! Marshall - SV20H = Channels jumped, Pres = 3.5, Bass= 6, Mid= 5, Trem= 5, and both channel volumes at 4
Hope that helps ~ My Best ~ Joe
I'm gonna crank this on epiphone Gibson hummbuckers hollowbody running through crate 15 tube amp!
Hi Joe and thanks for the great Videos! I would love to ask you some questions about your Marshall SV if you have the time? Is there a way to communicate with you? if not I understand!
Hey Joe I sent you an email to you. Did I send it to the right account? LOL
Yes and I replied....hope you got that!
Joe!!!! Southern fried style! Looking at it tabbed out if that is not pure classic rock n roll I am not sure what is.
Thanks again , another great lesson. If you could do a lesson on Almost Cut My Hair , by CSNY some day gtrjoe , would be greatly appreciated . Once again always appreciate the great lessons.
Always glad to help - Yeah, great song - I'll add it to the "list" .... stay tuned - Same Bat Channel, Same Bat Station!! My Best ~ Joe
