My Cirrus SR22t just arrived this morning. Had her up for maiden this afternoon. Now im just waiting for my programming cable to get here tomorrow, so i can crank this AR637TA up to "Hell yeah!" Havent been through this process yet- my previous AR631's let me factory reset via FP in my NX8. So, i really apreciate having this step-by-step tutorial to referrence. Thanks Spektrum Dudes 👍
So some of us have been comparing notes today. Seems that when updating an RX but not doing a factory reset and using a TX that is not updated some of the new functionality comes up in the menu even though it is technically on AS3X and not AS3X+. In a future update can you make it clear that it’s either AS3X+ or AS3X? Calling both just AS3X in forward programming is confusing a number of us.
So is this available to use with the dx series? If i upgrade my rx's to as3x+ is it usable with the dx transmitters? I still have yet hear the benefits of the as3x+
@@Tanker831 Won't matter, new algorithm, new gains. You can see the gains on the telemetry screen of the Tx though. Just scroll until you get to the AS3X page. The default AS3X+ gains are a good starting point. It shouldn't get you in trouble.
Nice to have up to 20 channels on the NX10 to match the receivers number of channels. What kind of improvements AS3X vs AS3X+ can one expect when flying?

Hi, if I have a new AR10360T reciever and I connected the device via micro USB cable and then I chose only Instal update (not Conversion Firmware 2.X.X to 3.X.X before it), is it OK? The Spectrum Programmer showed me "The device was successfully updated." The Softvare version is 3.1 and the program show me "No new software version is avaiable at this time". In Models I see AR10360T Receiver v3. Is it OK? If not how can I repair it please? Thanks!
Please make the Spektrum brand hte most popular brand again. Not by making new transmitters. People want $45~45 6 to 8 channel receivers with battery voltage telemetry. At my club more than 50 members bought Radio Master because the receivers are too expensive... I have seen and use d a receiver with the aformentioned specs that costs only $13 and works reliably. Please save the brand and make people feel they spend there money wisely!

Can I set the orientation for tail daggers as if it's ready to take off with rear wheel on ground or does it actually have to be level like it's in a airplane stand with nose and tail level I'm confused

Is there a tutorial for the rudder/yaw gyro setup with this new function somewhere? I really would like to try it out. Many friends rave about steering gyros. Interested in the tail dragger aspect mostly.
I updated an ar630, the plane has all six channels being used with flaps and gear. I cannot get the nose wheel gyro to work correctly. I need see Spot run directions. I have the nx8 with the new plus software. Help anyone.
This all makes sense and I’m rather excited to start upgrading to As3X+, however I have a few questions, mainly around a couple of BNFs that I own. Will existing BNFs start shipping with AS3X+? My 90mm viper BNF flies just great. My worry is that if I upgrade to as3X+ then I won’t be able to dial it in as good as the factory AS3X settings. Would there be maybe recommended AS3X+ settings for existing BNF planes like the viper 90mm? Will I even notice a difference? Is it worth doing on that plane at all?
What about all your customers who are still using a IX12? I understand that it’s not capable of utilizing AS3X+ Please provide further information for your IX12 users. Thanks
"Gyro Response Test" works awesome but it only works on the elevator? No exaggerated responses on the ailerons or rudder even though AS3X is there whether in or out of "Gyro response test" mode.
Great! What about the "DX" Generation II owners? Now my Gen II DX6, 7, and 8 are left out of the update cycle. What is missing from these Gen II transmitters that do not allow them to be upgraded? I really do not need 20 channels or even 14 channels. As soon as you start shipping Trainers with the new firmware in the receiver, I won't even be able to bind to them. I certainly will not be able to downgrade the firmware rev! As an Instructor, I need a reliable transmitter that can fly a trainer around the traffic pattern without 400-500 frame losses and 2 holds (40+ continuous frame losses for each hold!!). My feeble brain calculates at 20Hz, 40 missing frames equals 2 seconds. At 120 mph a "drone" in hold can cover 176 feet. A 4lb aircraft going 100 mph has a lot of energy!! I can not imagine anyone flying a high speed turbine or glow airplane with this protocol. I worked real-time programming on USAF flight simulators (B-52G/H, F-15C/E/S) for 20 years. We used 20 frames per second communications (1553 buss) that did not lose data (frames). Everyone upgrading should be enabling "Frame loss and hold" reporting. A speeding UAV in "hold" can not be ignored!
Updated receiver using conversion 2.x to 3.x. Then updated to 3.1. Go to forward programming to factory reset. Says I need to update transmitter, currently at 2.09. Update to 2.10. Forward Programming disappeared. Send help. Is that bug still in that prevents forward programming to appear on DX6e using 2.10?
What about the AS3X receivers( SPM-1005,AS6410NBL of SPMA3191) and others that came in my UMX Aircraft. Or the BNF receivers/FBL that came with aircraft and helicopters. If I update my iX14 will I still be able to fly them?
Very disapointing that the new receiver firmware is Not compatible with the DX G2-3 Transmitters. This is a Masive dis-service to Your Customer's. Some simply can Not afford a new transmitter in these difficult times.
DO NOT SET RECEIVER ORIENTATION MANUALLY. Spektrum mixed up orientation 9 and 13, and possibly others. The only way to ensure your gyro won't be reversed is to use gravity to set the orientation. After doing this, ignore any discrepancy in the orientation diagram if the controls urface responses are correct.
Spektrum Programmer just updated to version 3.9, I have an AR631 and an AR630, on neither of the 2 RXs a 2.*.* to 3.*.* conversion firmware is offered to me....
I watched the video all the way to the end. All i heard was it has better features. But did not hear why i would want to upgrade. Please be clear to the point and say why we should update. I wasted my time watching the video.
Set the reversing in the transmitter so that the sticks move everything correctly and then go into Forward Programming and run the “Relearn Servo Settings” function.
All of those settings you mentioned live in the TX so won’t change. The only settings that live on the RX are the As3x and safe settings. Sounds like they stay the same until you reset to upgrade to AS3X+
@@putzytart Ok. I upgraded one but now I have even more questions. There's a bunch of features like HLA (which I would use a lot) that has some settings I'm not familiar with.
@@bcflyer99I don’t know about HLA settings. All I can say is that if it lives under forward programming then it lives in the RX and will be reset when you set up AS3X+. If it’s in another menu then it lives on the TX and won’t be affected.
I knew there would be another proprietary gimmick they would throw out. Many guys at my club are leaving Sektrum for this reason. I wish I didn’t have so much money invested in them!!! This is the last straw for me. You’re in denial if you don’t see they had this planned for a while. Great way to screw the previous buyers and SELL MORE PROPIETARY CONNECTORS and cables!!!

As you mentioned at the middle of the video, you also must update your Tx IOT take advantage of the AS3X+ features.

What about the AR637TA that came with my BNF super timber? Can I update it or if I will loose all the programming specific to this plane?
I always write down all my gains if I’m updating or resetting a receiver that way I can enter everything back in when it’s done.

I just did this on mine. You can update, but you will need to factory reset to get AS3X+. Re-maidening mine tomorrow.

A newer Spektrum Progammer Beta 3.9 is out if you want to go beyond the 3.8.12 version.

The plane can be sitting on the tail wheel when setting the orientation, but the plane must be level when capturing the level flight attitude.

I updated my Dx8 and updated a ar630 today and they worked fine together.

Reverted back to 2.09 on the transmitter and forward programming is back, but still says it requires an update. So GG, DX6e + 630 does not work.

So you automaticly get extra channels after you update right? I have the ar631 and the spmar8360T. Both of them will get 12 channels?
Receivers could always decode 20 channels, but they only have 6, 8, or 10 servo ports.

It can sense the throwing motion and stabilize the plane in a climb for a few seconds. Really useful.

Yes, but it won't enable the new SAFE+ algorithm. It will fly just like it did before.
