  • The restoration of my 1974 Toyota FJ45 Landcruiser restomod continues. As this will be a frame off restoration right down to the last nut and bolt, it is time to restore the frame. In this episode I document the restoration of the chassis of my 1974 Toyota FJ45 Landcruiser including the installation of a McKinnons Cruisers chassis cross member.
I uncover some nasty surprises in the form of rust, and a couple of cracks in the frame that I have to deal with, fortunately nothing that cannot be repaired.
Drop your comments and suggestions below as this will be a real learning journey for me having never done it before.

Ooh a 69 model, that will be a great project for you and your son, I am jealous 🙃. The tow bar was on the Cruiser when I bought it, I just picked up a tow ball off fleabay. Would Hayman Reece not sell them? Sorry I could not be of more help. Thanks for watching Paul😎👍

Hi Patrick, good question. The vehicle will be my work Ute and primarily used on bitumen with the odd bit of gravel work. I don’t need a flex monster and like the load carrying capacity of leaf springs. Cheers

Terry you REALLY need to get into a sperm suit to paint 2 pack..... it is BAD BAD juju, not only for your lungs (I hope your not just using particle filters on your mask but organic filters!) but the isocyanates are well absorbed into your skin! Please check out the SDS sheets for 2 pack.
