Already I used this block for my shop....aac block material d usage also ok....but two much labour cost d painting and Patti work not suited for this..I painted on this block last Jan now so many cracks founded....

I am a civil engineer with 36 years field experience.
AAC blocks are good only if used properly.
1.Dont not use AAC blocks immediately on unloading. Keep at least 1 week in dry shaded area, with plenty of airflow
2. Do only 4 layers a day
3. Use only recommended adhesive, mixed mechanically and thickness of 3mm over blocks
4. Don't not cure with water
5. Provide continuous reinforcement Sill mat at 4rth block level and Continuous rc lintel
6. Do not rest beam of roof on blocks. Leave a gap of 1/2"..and ideally fill with PU foam
7. Have vertical ties for length greater than 6 m ( 20')
8. If possible build walls in top floors first and lower floors last
9. Use glass fibre mesh at all joints between concrete and block when Plastering
10. Always wait at least 2 weeks minimum before Plastering.. which can be cured
11. Groove cutting to be done only with cutter blade.
12. Apply putty ONLY after Plastering is fully cured and dried
Follow all of the above and you will have a crack free ECONOMICAL building

தெளிவான விளக்கம்
Brick is roasted under the temperature at which most of the metals melf off, and cured by multiple processes before reaching its final product. whithout any other thought, choose brick over ACC or interlocks, brick my look small and very ordinary but it's load bearing capacity and both linear and vertical comprehensive stress holding capacity is unimaginablly high and brick don't even require verious scientific terms of testing and quality control as it has the waay more strength than recommend by global architect standards, it has nearly 3x more the compressive load bearing capacity than the standards set by various organisations. so it doesn't require testing and monitoring, well followed traditional process will ensure the good quality brick. load bearing capacity is the most important aspect of the building construction. AAC blocks just satisfy the standards set and looks good with good finishing, but bricks on another hand are very porous which provides better bondig surface and tensile grip. bricks are on another level of standard, and commonly used in all over the world, not only in India.
another interesting fact is, building constructed with bricks are very hard to deconstruct and alter, removing the building constructed with bricks is really a painful task, reason is extraordinary strength of brick and it's almost permanant if left alone.
Affordablility and exploitation of natural resources are also to be considered while using brick

Bro Aac block is non bearing block .it cannot take load. And also we need to create band beam for every 6 ft height otherwise big crack may create...

Madam ve u used aac block. Im planning to build with that. Pl. suggest
AAC blocks have low compression strength (2.5 to 5 MPa (or 2.5 to 5 N/mm²)) while Solid blocks have 5 to 20 MPa (or 5 to 20 N/mm²). Due to this whenever beam settlment happens and fractional bending happens AAC blocks starts cracking. If block work starts cracking even before plastering.. then what kind of blocks are these ??
Better to go with Solid blocks or bricks, both are PROVEN. Let AAC built houses stand for 10 years, then we can go ahead.
Aac blocks becomes brittle and are broken easily when exposed to rain and water…. Also it is an harvesting ground of algae comparatively…..i would prefer brick and solid block….
