Start working on developing your fills in a whole new way by working in rudiments and playing in new subdivisions.
In this lesson I will teach you a very useful linear phrase that consists of flam triplets, a 6 stoke roll, and we incorporate our kick drum- all in 8 and 16th note triplets.
Hey! Have you checked out my FREE Drum Masterclass yet? Make sure your not just learning cool fills but your building a solid foundation in all areas! Watch it here: event.webinarjam.com/register/1/238mmhm
It was hard coming up with a title for this because there are many things that make this fill what it is. It's a linear phrase, it's a rudiment application, it's in triplets, and it's made up of a flam triplet, a 6 stroke, with kick incorporation. Hope you guys enjoy!
F*** yeah, Eric, love your drumming.
Btw, starting your full course and sticking to the rudiments is working out great. Thank you

Спасибо ты очень талантлив
Great stuff as always Eric, this is really creative approach. But the thing that always fascinated me in your videos is the sound of your drums. Kick and toms sounds fantastic! What heads are you using? Maybe you could make a video on how to get the sound you're looking for, as well as what affects the sound of the drums the most - whether it's heads selections and dampening, hoops, or is it (just) tuning?
Thanks a lot for the feedback Marko.
I care a lot about the quality and sound of my recorded drums.
Obviously it starts out with having a good set, then heads properly tuned, then you need to have the kit mic’d with a interface to record into your DAW.
A lot of it has to do with the mix though. Microphones pick up everything it catches is the room and often it’s doesn’t sound much like it does to our naked ears so you need to cut out the bad frequencies. With a little EQ and a little compression you can get a good sounds. but over the years I’ve had to become somewhat of an audio engineer as well to learn those things and it definitely took a lot of trial an error. It’s still a work in progress!
👌🏾
That's great and sound amazing your set and cymbals, I have a grescht catalina maple, what's your set ?
Nice! I play a Gretsch Renown. Thanks man!
Great Erick the Renown is the next one better after Catalina Maple
Great lesson as always. Is your equipment list on you website? Interested in what your crashes are, especially the one on your right. Thx
His right crash is Meinl Dual crash, I believe it's 20"
Marko Marković thanks. That’s an extra dry right since that is the only Dual Crash I can find
@@bobloblaw8660 Yeah, extra dry, same as the hi-hat, which is one of the best sounding hats in my opinion
What a great lesson! Thanks! Hey, isn’t that Stephen Taylor’s drum kit???
Thanks! No I play Gretsch I think he plays Tama
How do you do your double stroke ghost note so fast ?
Proper technique and lots of practice over the years!
Hmmm… cool😎
