  • Here is a rare, old recording, not available elsewhere. I've posted a couple versions of Chet's take on this tune, but this is the first posting of this unreleased alternate take on the tune.
It's interesting to see how Chet's playing and tone changed and improved over the years. This was from 1957, (I was just two years old!) and perhaps he was still "finding himself" on the tune.

I have the original LP of "Caribbean Guitar" & also the later CD (dual with "Travelin") release by BMG.
It is one of my top favorite Chet albums.

I wonder if this was a demo of this that Atkins used for prep work on “chet Atkins in Hollywood “ ?

Another lovely one that I remember but don't have. Thanks Doug! I remember the name of the album I've been trying to find Caribbean Guitar! I'll have to get the LP its not out in any other format and use my Dad's nifty doodad to burn a copy LOL!

This is the slowest I've heard him play this tune. Chet recorded this piece several times.

I like his older, faster version better. However, this is still great.

@daffydoug Montego Bay and The Enchanted Sea if you got em unless you've posted em and I'm just being dumb LOL! I forgot the track names to that album except Yellow Bird until I found it on Amazon. It had been so long since I've seen the album art on it. LOL!
