19:20 You noticed a bit later that I had put some crawlers in front of those mustangs, but in this situation that alone wouldn't save me from the missile. The stangs that are already warped in would have just walked right into the same spot as those crawlers and gotten hit. In order for the stangs to survive that missile I also used mobility beacon to move them a little bit laterally. I'm still super proud of that play lol

It hurt my soul just a little to see an entire screen filled with fang, and no additional upgrades. Sad robot noises.
I know. I really like his strats at times. But even just range OR armor piercing would have swayed that a lot, I think.
Yeah, pretty much every round after the 4th I was just:
"Time to get the fang range right? No? Guess he'll get it next round"

0:50 if you're making adjustments to cater to YT algo (I don't mean that negatively) swearing in the first minute bricks you in the algo, especially since a lot of your metadata is "positive."
Artillery just seems to strong in this for me. They' not really glass cannon, they aren't in accurate, the don't even have minimum range even their rate of fire is deecent. Chances are that even if your arty faces a unit (so both in range) that they duke it out and win the brawl. The anti missile things seem interesting, but super pricey.
They're strong vs. Day9's comp because they had attack speed and AOE fire upgrades which are both considerable investments, against a rather slow moving swarm force. Stormcallers (the artillery) excel at breaking shields and killing slow moving units. Essentially Day9's exact composition.
@@8thlvlMage Yes and even if they are fighting fast moving units, not only will they deal massive damage once the unit stops, their spread is such that they will still hit some units while moving. If the unit is light, it will die, reducing the units overall strength. I think stormcallers need a minimum firing distance, friendly fire, damage reduction against units they are not supposed to excel fighting against, less hp to turn them into actual glass cannons or something to reduce their general effectiveness.

Question I wanna ask since i'm not good at the game and want to learn more
i notice in this vid and the other hackerfang one before it that the single-target hackers waste a lot of time one-tapping crawlers and other weak swarm units. Why would day9 not take up 5beam hacker at any point? my gut says it would have helped slow some of the enemy advance and provide extra targets for the stormcallers and other stuff
5 beam hacker is indeed very good at hacking the chaff, but the 17% effectiveness per beam means once it gets to those harder targets (like the tanks that were in front), it takes a *really* long time to hack anything. Not only are you losing 15% (17 * 5 = 85) effectiveness, you don't frontload it on anything. Half the strength of the hacker is that it hacks a single tank or ball, then everything has to turn and destroy the hacked unit.
In this game specifically, where the tanks had armor and anti-hack, I'm pretty sure that the hackers would be literally unable to deal any damage to the tanks and they'd be able to solo day9's entire build.
Typically, the fangs are very good at taking out the chaff in these kinds of compositions, you just gotta remember to invest in them

Reduce range and make each beam hack at 17% speed of a single beam.
This game is so fun, playing it for a while now. Easy to get into, but it gets harder the higher the mmr. Decent variety of tactics too. Fuck the hacker though.
Wait... did the hacker take control of the sentry missle at 14:00?
Hackers don't take control over sentry missiles, it was probably the unit they were hacking that died/got hacked
