Sit on top kayak on wild waters CLASS 5

  • The video shows an excellent adventurous experience of kajaking on the wild waters of class 5, on the top of the top kayaks, which are primarily intended for driving on calm waters.
    The ride was overwhelmingly completed for two kayaks who did not manage to resist the power of the river and lost kayaks and paddles because they were forced to save their own lives.

      Class V you'd have been severly injured or worse. Class II/III tops. Take a safety course. Do you have people in your life who love you? Think of them.

    Class II/III ish.
    Class III Whitewater is considered
    Intermediate. Rapids with moderate, irregular waves. Complex maneuvers in fast current and good boat control in tight passages or around ledges are often required; large waves or strainers may be present but are easily avoided.

      @ Jennifer, perhaps rating change a bit depending where you live. East coast U.S., the Ocoee in TN and so Tohican PA are examples of CL3. These have sections that do require more navigation, however, this also appears pretty swift. I think CL3 is fair. CL2 I can put a newbie on after they get basic skills down where there are pools. This isn't where I would want them.
      Dudes, where you planning to run that waterfall?

    • @ccatdaddy64

    so many wrong things on this video. First, Not even close to class 5. second terrible self rescue skills (or lack there off) and third, NEVER stand up in moving water that deep, you are asking for a foot entrapment.

      3 day rafting 90km over river Tara across border of Montenegro and Bosnia, class 3 and 4 with evening campouts and spit roast food....trip there was just as nerving. Driving on winding roads across mountain tops with barely enough room to fit two cars...in midst of it all you see a farm house...alone in this desolate environment. Then you descend towards the forest and down to the pristine river where your trip starts. Crystal clear waters, waterfalls, natural springs, canyons of incredible proportions, negotiating boulders in the river, rapids, drops, shallows...Most epic adventure to date. I will never forget it.

    As many people have pointed out, this is class II or III tops. Very misleading headline. Either that, or the person who posted the video has no idea how to properly rate rapids, in which case they have no business running them.

    • @Nick-vs5wl
      @Nick-vs5wl Před 4 lety +6

      Leashes and tethers on whitewater kill people. As does going on to dangerous rivers without the proper, equipment, qualifications and experience. While this was probably class 3 at most they put themselves in a potentially lethal situation

    • @woofna1948
      @woofna1948 Před 2 lety +1

      Leashes and tethers on whitewater are an invitation to entrapment and drowning. That's why you never see whitewater boaters using them. Plenty of paddleboarders have found that out the hard way.

    • @LookoutLance

      Not in a river or surf, I'd say the risk of entanglement is too great once you add rope. better to get thigh braces and upskill a bit more before heading downstream.
