Great place for my spiritual journey, really felt like I achieved heaven, there were some really annoying kids there tho, especially one who seemed to like burning down the house
this reminds me of the time when I was in florida, so it was in 2011 and basically there was this baby, and it was green, this black priest guy then stole it and made it into a green guy thing. then he turned the green guy thing into a weird horse thing It sped up time and weird stuff happened.
I just went yesterday (June 26, 2019). I was there for the first time back in 1976 and then back in 1991, 2009, 2014. Every time they have something new and impressive. When I saw the video presentation for the Atlantis and the shuttle itself, I was exited to the core about how it all started with a balsa toy plane and a dream. But watching the shuttle itself was humbling and impressed by its great size and its great achievent in space exploration. By today standards, the computers on Apollo are actually big, bulky, slow and obsolete. But it did the job it was desined for! May be in 50 years from now, the shuttle will be obsolete but trully inspired me to pursue higher dreams. Thanks for sharing!!!
I was there in 1983. It was totally FREE to get in back then. And 1997-2006. I lived in my VW bus at the Causeway 528. Saw many of rockets and shuttles went up. Fondling memories:)
Great video. I was there a couple of weeks ago. And lucky enough to see the Falcon 9 launch. An awesome experience. I can only imagine what a Saturn 5 launch was like. A bit of trivia about the Atlantis exhibit. It's angled at 43.21 degrees. Not 45 degrees. Anybody know why? The answer went over my head!
Thanks for sharing this. I remember when I was 11 years old in 1970 and visiting there when they were building the Saturn V moon rockets. I can recall when we walked right up to those huge doors when they were open and saw the rocket being built. Saw the workers up at the top looking like they were the size of ants. Brings back great memories of our vacation then with my family. You should visit Dayton,Ohio and see the museum at Wright Patterson AFB. If you come to Ohio make a stop at Cedar Point or Kings Island and ride the coasters.
The Stock footage you are showing at Time index: 13:23 is the release of the Adapter between the S-1C (first stage) and the S-2 Stage (The second Stage). The IU or instrument unit, was mounted on the S-4B (third stage) and was with the third stage as it slammed into the moon for most of the Apollo missions. The visitor complex has been almost completely revamped since I was there last. Thank you for sharing your tour. Cheers.
I was an engineer on the launch team at Kennedy for Apollo and want to clarify 2 items. The beginning implies Kennedy is in Orlando; the Visitor Center is actually about 50 miles away. At 13:25 it supposedly shows the IU dropping away. It isn't the IU, it is the interstage structure between the 1st and 2nd stages of the Saturn V rocket. You can tell, because the remaining stage shows 2 of the 5 engines which is what the second stage had. There is no footage of the IU falling away, because it remained attached to the third stage.
Just so you know, this isn’t in Orlando. It’s on Cape Canaveral, and the nearest town is Titusville. This is roughly an hour and a half east of Orlando.
My wife and I went there for the first time in July 1998. By the time we were standing under the Saturn 5 I was a basket case! For thirty-seven years, I had wanted to go to the KSC and at last I was there, and I was completely away with the fairies. Cathy would say something, looking straight at me as she said it, and I would look straight back at her as she said it, paying close attention, and not hearing a word. This happened at least a couple of times - I think - but she understood and I was properly contrite when I got my feet back on the ground about a week later. We have been back twice since then and I have managed to keep a better grip on myself each time.
Thanks for the reply. I can't believe how much the Kennedy space center has changed ! Do they still have the launch pad where the Apollo 1 astronauts died ? I remember when we went out to that launch pad, very sobering and a reminder how dangerous it is.
I'm not sure if they have the actual pad (or at least whether it's on any kind of 'tour') but they have a poignant section of the Saturn V building that is dedicated to telling their story and remembering their contribution to the program.
No way, I thought it was awesome. Nothing sucky about being in the building that controlled most of America's space missions, not to mention that massive Saturn V rocket? Pretty cool! :-)

I love how the comments are just flooded with jojo fans.
I came here just for my interest in KSC then saw that my people are already here. I heard Jotaro didn't like this place very much.
I bet that this is gonna be very flooded when JoJo part 6 is animated.
Fine by me; bring on the weebs! 👍
i know it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch new movies online ?
@Bruce Finn I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
@Dayton Clay Yup, I've been using FlixZone for years myself =)

They made the Cape Canaveral into a real place
They used to have a Space Shuttle you could walk through. Guess they closed it?

The concrete base of the pad is still there, labeled "Abandon in place."
It also has a plaque commemorating the Apollo 1 crew.
I’m just imagining when SpaceX launches their bfr for the first time....
Which did you like better Houston or Orlando's Nasa space center?
Hmmm tough choice.... I think Orlando just has the edge of being the actual launch site for all those missions.
