    Recon: jconcepts.net/search.asp?keyw...
Reaching into a new bag of tricks, JConcepts had the vision and created a new tire during the 2022 racing season. The Recon works and performs unlike many other tires on the market by utilizing a horizontal design that works more in a flapping and paddle movement. The horizontal bars are grouped together in diamond patterns and staggered to produce ghost sectional compartments. Once built together, the ghost sections appear as large X spaces repeated over the entire tire body.
Directional sidewall features flow together in one direction and offer an option for the way the tire is presented to a track surface. Inside the carcass, traditional radial ribs provide resistance to tire expansion while the shape and continuous contour drives smooth and consistent. The heart of this tire is in the pin construction and how the proprietary compounds apply this to the racing surface. The flexible nature of the pins, snap, and twist works because of the design details and championship winning tire compounds.
Recon tires are packaged with JConcepts Dirt-Tech inserts known for their gray color, durable nature, and success on the race track. The tires are available in three different compounds, Green (Super Soft), Blue (Soft), and Aqua (A2, long wear medium soft). The Recon tire is already a winner in the hands of Dakotah Phend (2022 ROAR National Champion), and Ryan Maifield (2023 Dirt Nitro Challenge Champion). The ace driver duo has been extremely impressed with the versatility of the tire, utilizing them on an array of surfaces from hard packed and groove conditions to wet, loamy, and bumpy. In the simple words of Ryan Maifield, “the Recons are the real deal.”
In a market which contain a vast assortment of options, rest assured, JConcepts knows tire development. The ability to design and create, introducing trends and not sampling, providing an appropriate compound, knowing how to respond, and being trackside for the racer makes JConcepts Number 1. The product is always backed by JConcepts customer service, supported, and developed by professionals with style and authenticity. Look for reputable dealers and distributors and demand authentic and licensed products - choose JConcepts.

I know off topic a lil bit. But. Alot of people would love a crawler pin tire in a 1.9. Especially in your crawler compound. All pin tires for crawlers are in the big 2.2 MOA Class. Nobody is making them in a proper 1.9 size. People are going as far as cutting and gluing there own. There is a good demand for them.... Food for thought.

Great content. For people that are considering switching from another brand. I recommend calling at the beginning what type of surface it was made for eg. Clay, dirt, carpet rather than the specs so people like me we get the context and the purpose of the tyre. Just some feed back.

Im new to the hobby and drive a heavier tlr tuned typhon. The guys at my track run a variety of tires. Some recommend stalkers in green. With my car being heavier i heard these recons in blue drive similarly. Should i be running slightly stiffer tires bc of my weight? Run the stalkers in green recons in blue?
