Thank you Jennifer...I have a brass 0 gauge GWR Lower Quadrant Signal Kit to build that looks a bit of a nightmare to the uninitiated! However you have inspired me to have a go and then make it work :-) Sounds like a good Autumn project as I have lots to do on the layout first.

Interesting Jennifer. I already have an ss unit and two surface-mount switches which I used on N Guage. Changing to 00 Guage immanently Iwill give these a try.

Servos aren't too bad - I'm watching this while building up a servo mount for points on my N gauge layout.
I have a tortoise pulling my level crossing gates. Cycle time is about 6.5 seconds. You could do something similar for the semaphore signals
Those are properly smooth action motors.
One thing I detest about more traditional motors is the loud BUZZ and clank sound they make when thrown ..
DCC obviously know what they're doing here.
For me though, on my humble 'sit inside' loop layout there's no need for motorised anything.
I do need the odd signal though just for some added detail...
Need ground shunt signals for the TMD and the goods yard...

Hi Jenny. Weir Yard going digital: What will you do with any DC loco that can't(?) or you won't bother to, convert to DCC? I think you are selling yourself short on your knowledge of electrics/electronics; I love it when people think outside of the box!

Thanks, I enjoyed the video, but much of it I didn't understand. I'm approaching the time to start installing signals and to be honest I was going to use point motors and bellcranks and rods . I need to find some slow action motors to achieve some sort of realism. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I have Hornby semaphores, so if all else fails, I can use the point motors at the base of the signal. Thanks in advance.
Interesting use of that DCC Concepts unit. I might not have understood but as you are operating the home as slave to the first point and the distant signal as slave to the second point - aren't there situations when the home is on but the distant is off? - if so, that wouldn't be prototypical and might confuse the OO scale driver!
You would never get a distant off with the stop signal on. (Retired train driver)
