    HUNTER. Fun Fact: the caliper your using to measure, when measuring depth. The rod that sticks out of the rear of it when you open it. You can lean the edge on the rim and push open the caliper thus pushing the rod out. Once it bottoms out you got your measurement.

      If you get a bigger caliper you can use the back end for the inner diameter also. I don’t know how much that changes on discs though

    Can you review the new metalflake fd3?

    Distortion replaced my Zone. I agree with all the ratings I just love the deeper feel.

      Same. Didn't think I'd find a zone replacement but this disc did it

    for me personally, the distortion being not as overstable is a good thing, since i already bag an A2 and this one complements it nicely, also i do think the future 500 plastic runs will be more overstable than the 400 one, so be on the lookout for that if/when they drop it

      My thoughts exactly while watching this video. I never really cared for Discraft plastic and much prefer the feel of Prodigy 400, so I’ve been looking to replace my Z FLX Zones. I have a seasoned A2 which will turn out a little bit, but still crashes back hard. Was looking for something that would hold a flex longer or push straight longer before the fade. This might be exactly what I’m looking for. Also I have an A2 in 500 plastic and it is significantly beefier. Flies kinda like a Justice with more glide.

    Another great review Hunter. I’m not sure about the run you got but Gannon’s seems really over stable on coverage so this surprised me but this is prodigy so🤷‍♂️

    • @jonahlynne9123
      @jonahlynne9123 Před 2 lety +3

      I think that’s cuz gannon also throws an A2. U may have been watching that instead.

    Really Detailed content, I like that. As an amateur it totally helps to know things like over/under stable, rim depth ect. Very tough deciding where to invest to help my game. Recently bagged a L64 Pearl. Great midrange seems to fly as advertised. Thanks for the vids, a job well done guys.

    I recently just switched from the zone to the Mvp Entropy. Same flight numbers. It is probably 100% psychological but it feels slightly better in my hand.

    • @chuckwalla123
      @chuckwalla123 Před 2 lety +2

      Full disclosure, I’m an MVP fanboy, but a big reason is because the feel. The rim plastic gives me a reference where my fingers are when I’m holding the disc. It’s easy to “feel” where my hand is on the disc.

  • @micah_lee
    @micah_lee Před 2 lety

    I think you may want to try other colors. With these “italian” style plastics from discmania and prodigy and Dynamic, a huge factor in flight is the color. It changes the way the discs cools and the PLH I believe. I have heard from others that the distortion is overstable like you were expecting but idk I haven’t thrown any

    Mine has a dome, I took it out for the first time today and shanked every throw I did with it, which was like four. So I need to take it out again to give it another shot

    See if there's a difference between this and the A5..The A5 might have a bit more glide

    • @micah_lee
      @micah_lee Před 2 lety

      A5 feels slimmer in the hand and smoother. It also flies straigher

    Disc looks really nice. Great review!
    Quick critique on your anhyzer form. I've watched numerous videos of your annie throw, and you almost never lean your upper body back with the shot. Typically still standing straight up or at times forward like you're throwing a hyzer. Gotta get that upper body back and into the swing if you ever want a consistent anhyzer.

  • @MattGames890

    I've noticed the distortion to be a tad more overstable and torque resistant than any of my zones.

    When you say a tick less stable, is a tick about a whole flight number or less than that?

    The torque resistance is really what matters, can always put more Angle on it

    Yeah the purple and mango distortions are where it’s at.
    Also, not sure why you’re lumping harp in with the zone category… those are more understable than both

  • @micahmilam914
    @micahmilam914 Před 2 lety

    Would love to see your take on the new A5 compared to the zone. It’s even more of an all around carbon copy if the zone than the distortion

    • @micah_lee

    Also it's dumb to compare every overstable approach disc to the zone cause you don't always want an overstable approach to dumb as hard.

  • @ruschj00
    @ruschj00 Před 2 lety

    I'm sorry but these reviews are awful. You spent 30 seconds actually showing flights of the disc and you didn't even hit one of the lines you were trying to. There is over 8 minutes of you just blabbering.

  • @chrischambers4379
    @chrischambers4379 Před 2 lety

    I don't like the way this disc flies 8.5 . . . What??? 😂😂😂 I also think it doesn't fly like an approach disc should 7 . . . Dude your whole description said that the disc is a bad zone replica and you gave it a 7.8.

    • @ivanespinoza4100
      @ivanespinoza4100 Před 2 lety

      He s doing an honest review but at the same time wants people to buy them. 😆I like the distortion because its less overstable. Kevin makes a point that it skips less and sits right away in a video. That made me me buy it.
