      Hello! 💚 That Lady of Shallot has turned out to be a favorite as well. There is always something happening in the garden it’s not always perfect and aphids are a big one in most gardens. I hope by showing it all that it’s not to much of a worry to others and they enjoy their garden. I spend so much time worrying last year and that wasn’t fun. Your roses are absolutely beautiful. I too have been growing David Austin Roses for a couple years now and I find that the ones I place in containers sometimes grow alot better than in the ground...plus they look beautiful in a nice pot. How do you over-winter all those roses in containers as I know you get a pretty cold winter in zone 7B??? Im in zone 7A in NY but find that some roses will survive the winter with little to no protection and others will just die even though they were supposed to be hardy down to zone 5. Congratulations!!! 😃💐 If the roses are not bare root they can be planted at any time. Check if soil needs water if dry water good before planting them. Super exciting! I would be by the window waiting 😁. Enjoy your beauties! 🙏💐💚💚💚💚💚💚

    Is there a difference in terms of output whether you choose to plant a container rose vs a bare root? Also is it better to plant in the Summer or Autumn? Thank you for sharing your lovely garden

      Hello! Bare root will establish quicker. We have some from container own root doing amazing. They do take longer to establish but they will live longer. As long as the ground is not frozen anytime is good to plant roses. I do love to plant in fall as they just work on setting the root and in spring I have something to look forward to. 🙏💐💚

      Hello! And congratulations on your new home! 😃💐 That rose is Harlow Carr my apologies for not mentioning name. It’s my favorite rose! It has shallow cup flowers in clusters of mid pink, strong old rose fragrance very strong beautiful. It is a very thorny rose that’s why I call them my boys 🙂 our garden protectors 😁🌸. It’s a fast grower and prolific bloomer from early spring till fall. Performs wonderful in hot climates loves the sun. But can also grow in less sun. I think it should be in every garden. I can imagine all the fun picking out roses! Enjoy!! 😃🙏💐💚💚💚💚💚💚

      @@lazhie3966 are they generally growing OK? If they are getting a bit taller and have healthy foliage, then I would suspect that it's a lack of nutrients in your potting mix. Flowering sucks huge amounts of energy out of a plant. How long have you had them potted?

    Hi from 7a- MD! Looks like you've got a little sawfly damage on your roses too! So annoying! Aphids stayed away but I got tons of sawfly holes. I've been using neem oil because I'm afraid of affecting our pollinators.

    • @GardenObsessions
      @GardenObsessions  Před 2 lety

      Hello! Yes sawfly I forgot to mention but yes so early aphids and sawfly got really bad. Hope they have left your roses alone. Both stopped after we sprayed with IV Organics but we do have to keep spraying when new growth shows up. This spray is completely organic and we cover our whole garden with it. Love seeing the pollinators! Now just waiting on the hummingbirds. Have a lovely day! 🙏💐💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

    I don't spray anything. I do get aphids early in the season but if you leave them alone in a few weeks predatory bugs flock in and eat all of the aphids.

    ~ 🍋Solution for aphid...Soy sauce and olive oil. The insects are attracted to the sugary smell of the soy and the olive oil or vegetable oil drowns them. You can use a shallow bowl or tuck in a 1-liter soda plastic bottle on its side and put it on the ground in your garden 1111 Peace Out~ Please don't spray give the soy /oil a try
