If the imperium were pragmatic, they'd send an eversor into a space hulk to clear out whatever horrors were stalking its empty corridors and save up on men and materials. But then the problem is, how to remove the eversor after the deed is done.
Honestly I would say, by the time they make it thru they would probably combust so retrieval is likely not a problem
To be fair, if 100 could wipe out astartes strike teams too a man, then a squad of them let loose in a space hulk would probably get the job done about as well as terminator units
@@boredniko2406 The thing is it probably cost more in time, resources and training to make 100 Eversors than it would 1000 space marines. Never mind a good space marine gets centuries of service out of them, they are relatively cheap to train and condition to an Eversor. Only one that comes close is perhaps the really harsh chapters like the Space wolves.

I would count that as aggressive stealth, Heavy Stealth is a Raven Guard in terminator armor.
Its so odd and surreal how 40k delivers its "minutes to midnight" tale, yet weaves it with a backstory that is well delivered upon fleshed out ideas. Like, an assassin that is tantamount to pure vengeance, yet mercurially can function due to them being essentially in drug-infused craze. I really appreciate how you emphasize the scope of the entire story with painstaking details. 40k always delivers to invoke imagination, yet does so with so much talent. Well done LT.

Think about it, at some point in the great Crusade the mechanicus implanted them into the world eaters before they turned traitor,

The only assassin that seriously caught my attention is the culexus assassin because its essentially a opposite or a powerful anti-psychic individual that can destroy and kill anything warp related and can actually shut down any tyranids psychic abilities. Highly unique in its nature for the warhammer 40k universe. So I absolutely will love to see your video on the culexus assassin. 🤠

All psychicers fear them especially demons, and it is said that during a hive planet invasion they have the ability to shut down a hive tyrant's psychic connection to the hive mind. I keep forgetting the anti-psyhic word for it but yeah there extremely rare and powerful. More rarer than psychics themselves
@@goreobsessed2308 I found it, its call pharah and they're basically humans that evolves to be anti-psykers and the most powerful are the minus-omega level and culexus assassin are sometimes those people. They're usually use against psyker enemies such as the eldar, chaos sorcerer, demons (since they're warp entities) and psychic tyranids. Here is a link about them

@@ironbomb6753 They are anti-psykers and they've been around since the great crusades. There is a art picture 🖼 that the sister of silence was at the emperor side. Sadly those forces got disbanded and essentially got replaced by the more powerful and deadlier culexus assassins.

They take traitors (but sometimes just random people) lace their minds with nerve agents that cause them to feel more pain, then strap them into a walking torture device, where they are tortured forever until they are killed. They almost always have melee weapons on them and the SoB send them as shock troops.

The one that I found most interesting among the assassins is the Culexus Assassin. After reading what they can do, they’re just so fucking cool. Have the ability to phase out of reality, can remain invisible, flickering towards their target like a faulty pict reel? That’s like some horror movie shit. Can focus their negative psychic aura into a fucking death ray? That’s like the coolest shit ever!

I wonder if the Evesor's second heart organ is related in design of a space marine's?
Edit: the cryo stasis pod might be the way in which they are retraived. Perhaps, once the assassin has completed their goal, they could be rewarded by being allowed the (perceived to be) brief respite and calm of sleep. If that's the case, they wont need a seperate retrieval protocol; just go pick up the pod with the snoozing assassin in the one safe and calm spot they can experience. Could even increase the drive to succeed by giving a big endorphin hit when they return successful to try and get the assassin addicted to succeeding

Question: If they've existed since then, how can Guilliman be so shocked that the imperium has fallen into total degeneracy? Seems like if you were making assassins' in such a barbaric way since the get, it wouldn't be too hard of a leap in the imagination.
A group of assassins were sent to take out Horus. Malcador and valdor were in on it, and Dorn knew of it. I think the books name is "nemesis." Its a good read, especially the eversor character.
@@srikarpamidi1946 back then during the heresy era, the primarchs knew about a lot of these groups. But the details were hidden, as they were super secretive. When the heads of the assassin guilds had meetings they were all disguised, including malcador who pulled the strings. But depends which primarch as well (depends oh how they/their legions fight/tactics, also code of honour and morality) Say dorn for eg. He was hanging round terra more that the others and personally investigated..(and he did not approve at all)
Ultimately back then it was emperor/malcador/valdor/dorn calling the shots. After the heresy, the groups within the imperium kinda went unchecked. So you can kinda imagine the shit they did in 10k years. The good primarchs n asartes still go by a code of honour, so yeap robute would still be like "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOIN ON HERE?!?!"

The techpriest administered a "sharp ritual blow" to the top of the crypt to persuade its machine spirit to behave. Seems like some things never change, even over 40 millennia. I had to do that to one of my machines just this morning. Luckily that one did not contain an Eversor though.
As horrid as it is, an Everosar’s life would make a great video game, pacing, style, like dishonored on acid.
Any time the player dies, he explodes, killing everyone in the room and respawns as a different eversor at wherever the drop pod landed at the start of the level.

@@vothbetilia4862 the flayed ones teleport into the battlefield out if a pocket dimension, so by the tile you notice them it's too late

If they ever do more horror novels like “Maledictions”’and “The Wicked And The Damned.” They really should add a novel or least a short story to an anthology of a planet or base, or whatever being attacked by an eversor assassin. Really break down the nitty gritty horrors they inflict and the thoughts and failed attempts of those who try and fight back.
