Try using the deagle or the revolver on secondary.
It’s great for medium range and can finish the job with 1 shot if your shotgun couldn’t finished the kill.

I think the double barrel should load both shots at the same time making a faster reload action. Meaning Have both rounds in the same hand when reloading but have the action drop in one and then the other before closing the action and grabbing the gun back with your hand at a ready stance

At least add a speed load or something that speeds up the animation
