  • Watch as I make a full sized walnut wood xylophone from scratch.
Thanks to Rich from SuperMediocre for creating the templates I used for the bars. If you want to build a xylophone yourself, here's the steps:
    supermediocre.org/index.php/20...
And if you want to read more about the finer details of the tuning you can read about it here:
    www.lafavre.us/tuning-marimba.htm
Music used (in order of appearance):
Sabre Dance: • Khachaturian: Sabre Da...
Greenhorn Forest: • Greenhorn Forest - War...
Watermelon Whispers: • “Watermelon Whispers” ...
    Ivory Kapers: • “IVORY KAPERS” (1929) ...
    The 25th Hour: • The 25th Hour - Schlat...
Chronologically, the frame was I actually designed and made first and most of the footage from it's construction got lost. The frame was also one of the first woodworking projects that I've done, which explains the joinery on it... anyways.

thank you for sharing... a quite a high resonate metallic sound from the walnut.. impressive ..you could perhaps continue to explore other exotic woods on your frame using wenge for example or padauk.. or perhaps build a deep box as a traditional 60s xylophone like the one i own ..a vintage rosewood xylophone the sound is amazing
