Brian Greene's and Richard Feynman's books got me interested in physics. Neil deGrasse Tyson's and Carl Sagan's books got me interested in Astronomy. I want to be an Astrophysicist now. It has been my dream since I was in 8th Grade (I am now in 10th grade)

To be honest I have little knowledge of most of the science that these brilliant people talk about. But I'm excited to listen to all of them and actually learn in such a way that I'm actually enjoying it.

Especially as Bill Nye has made videos discussing very important issues, such as racism, poverty, and even addressing topics in the LGBTQ+ community. I can agree that people who save lives and feed the poor are also legends. But let us not also forget that these scientists have battled climate change deniers, and brought lots of mainstream media to the topic of climate change, is this not saving the lives of everyone's descendants eventually?

If reality, of which science has been able to qualify and quantify, is only specific to a person's experience, then it is not science. Science is 'real' in that the same results will be produced even if different people are the conducting the tests with the same trial conditions.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is one of the most lovable men I've very known of---not only enthusiastic about knowledge but is full of thoughtful charisma and humor.
I was lucky enough to meet him one on one when I interviewed him for my PhD in his at the NY Planetarium. This was before he became famous. Out of the twenty astronomers and astrophysicists I interviewed he was the nicest and most generous with his time. Lovely guy.

By fighting Religion we lend it importance it no longer earns and hasn't earned for over a century. It had it's time but that time is at an end and left to itself will simply "die on the vine" lending further evidence to "survival of the fittest". Fighting it especially with any degree of passion only prolongs it's continued existence.
