- In this video , I invited Sahil Puri , who has an extensive experience in the testing industry , having worked at senior positions in companies like Adobe , Google etc. We often run after SDE roles , as that's what everyone talks about , but there are lot of other roles in the Software engineering industry too , which offers equally challenging work , doesn't ask hard DSA questions , and pay equivalent salary as SDEs. Also anyone can do testing but for development u require very good coding skills
@@Ashleysarash Wrong assumption I would say, please check compensation of SDET and SDEs brother and the tools and automation definitely requires coding skills, the SDET coding interviews are equal to that of development. Get your facts right. The career ladder is same for both dev and testing. I don't find what you're saying legit. Watch this video again to understand more.

SDET is an entry level role. I'm a 2023 graduate and have recently joined Akamai Technologies as SDET.

Testing is a really good role. Its a thing that if you to be one and sustain in that whole sick drama of devs and testers. I heard even the tools dev engineers in google are felt like 3rd rated

Yeah saw one video where a guy shares his interview experience. He had 10yrs exp & he joined Google as SDET (Lead I think(
For sure you can try SDET role at any level of experience.
No Scope for testing . In my org dev only doing all things including automation. Fresher please don't go for testing profile even if paid well no future in testing/automation.

@@rite2riddhi but riddhi don't u think that a scope of a dev in terms of jobs much better than tester
Also in many start-up the dev themself perform both testing and devops role

@@Ashleysarash you are right, sdets are usually making 60-70% of dev salary for same exp level, also there is no visible impact and devs, pm look down on them
One of my friend is SDET in a start up , he is earning 10 LPA as a fresher
Also College Tier matters a lot.
@spider-maniac300 startup is huge risk with 0 security
Keep that in mind
