The cats, oy vey! I didn’t think much of the pastels at first, but I’m actually starting to fall in love with them! Over the weekend, they suddenly became my favorite new sketching toys☺️Thanks for watching, Brian!

We've always had to do such sloooooow introductions with our new cats and older cats, too. I think we've gone through at least 2 bottles of 'calming spray'. With one of our new kittens, it might've worked a bit too well, and the older cat cleaned him so much that she licked a bald patch onto his ear!!!
Oh that makes me feel better! It's only been 1 month and they can eat in the same room together, but other than that it is sloooooow going!
Enjoying your videos- it's kind of my go-to weekend morning start with coffee 😊 Always fun to see your process and progress--love watching a good sketchbook flip! That little bunny was so cute, my fave. I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and try new techniques/art mediums- man, the critical self-critique when trying something new is REAL. Lol. But you, and so many others, inspire me to keep going!

Dude, your phone is possessed! I need to a new phone too, it does the weirdest sh-t some days😝 And we’re all so much more critical of ourselves than towards anyone else. I know some of it can be the frustration of trying a new thing and not having the hang of it. But it’s so exciting once you DO get the hang of it! It helps to step away from what you’re doing and then look at it fresh eyes another day. It works like a freaking charm, I tell ya!

Maybe what you don't like about that landscape is the "focus point" leads the eyes right off the page? You probably notice it without realizing what it is you don't like. But those green branches just point off the edge of the paper so that is where the eyes follow. I was taught that in high school and I am 52 now. You need something in the picture to capture and hold the viewers attention.
Just my opinion.
Maybe add a bird flying towards the tree or something?
Like if people draw a forest path the path generally is in the center to hold the attention. In really old paintings similar to that there would be some structure like a water mill or a strolling couple to catch the eye. But its the shape of the branches + where they point. Did you do thumbnails first? Its a layout issue.
Your painting skills are very good! How easily you turned those painted lines into trees with leaves! You are way better at painting than I am. ❤
Thanks for the insight and feedback, Sarah! I do agree the layout/composition is part of the issue of why I didn't love it. It's a lopsided focal point, for sure. But honestly, I just find most landscapes kinda dull to look at in general (even if done well!) unless they are really expressive and kind of abstract. So for me, this was just about as boring as it gets to look at, haha! I usually don't love my first sketches in a new sketchbook, but that's ok because it's just practice!

Two girl cats rarely get along, whereas two boys as long as they're desexed usually are ok together. Best of luck, i hope they figure it out, sadly it's not uncommon though.
Yeeeeaaahhhh, I think I've heard this before... The last time I had two girl cats they didn't "love" each other, they tolerated one another well enough and kinda played sometimes. So my hope is they get along eventually even if they don't become best buds! Pray for me😬😅
When we adopted a third cat...things got "hissy/boppy" too. Two girls and a boy...maybe it's a gender thing??????😂

I do wonder if it’s the issue of 2 female cats🐈🐈Luna has been ok in moments and then she SNAPS which is not like her at all! So we’re going to be trying some kitty Prozac this week to see if it helps make the transition a little less stressful for all the pets!
Oh and I was filming at the air bnb we were staying at and my daughter wasn’t sure if I had the camera and asked because she didn’t want to talk loud.

😂 glad I'm not alone in thinking bald eagles are ugly and kinda boring. They are huge and that's neat but BOOOORING. How can they compete with one of those white rock ptarmigans with red eyebrows that runs around saying "awebo" ?!
Right?! Sorry America. The bald eagle is just not that pretty. It look awkward with its puny head and GINORMOUS body and that bitchy face? Like ok, calm down with the intense angry eyebrows, ya freak. Now I gotta look up this ptarmigan bird🤓
