  • In his letter to the Galatians, Paul mentions that he went to Arabia. Given that Mount Sinai is located there, did he, like Elijah and Moses, have a personal encounter with Yehováh and receive the Gospel of the Kingdom?

There’s only one person in the New Testament that is accused of teaching against the Torah. During his lifetime and the time we live in now. No one else is quoted. My parents were once Torah Observant Sabbath keeping Believers in Yeshua. They eventually stopped believing that way because of Paul’s letters. The way Paul is taught in the typical church.
This was absolutely devastating to me and broke my heart. My parents were Torah Observant before I was.

There's no doubt that Paul is either getting the worst "read" in scripture or being intentionally misused to create garbage.
He uses it for a little bit of levity now and then, but Michael is dead-on with his "Don't think" ( I have come to destroy the Torah or the Prophets ) -analogy of the western Christian experience.
Think about how many believers today still think that Paul was chosen to minister to the gentiles solely as some sort of divine restitution for his OG Sanhedrin body count.
And while that might be a portion of the total equation, it is NOT the total answer. We understand that ONLY a Pharisee of Paul's age, stature, and learning could be chosen for this task. He's a defender. You're not going to get any rabbinical nonsense past him nor will you find an ally if your goal is to 86 the Torah.
This is a monumental task that has been laid before his feet. And you can read it plain as day that he's instituting some Torah-based stop gaps to keep everyone acceptable with Yeshua and the Most High while he's harvesting the wheat field of this new reality in order to create the definitive baseline for acceptable behavior and doctrine going forward!
I can sympathize with your situation. It's like having a close friend or relative that won't even investigate salvation much less accept it. Still, we pray for them as others prayed for us, trusting that God will see them through.

There is no such record that apostle Paul received the Gospel on the Mount Sinai.
Acts 9 : 17 So An·a·niʹas went and entered the house, and he laid his hands on him
and said: “Saul, brother, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road along
which you were coming, has sent me so that you may recover sight and be filled
with holy spirit.” 18 And immediately, what looked like scales fell from his eyes,
and he recovered his sight. He then got up and was baptized........Since then Paul
started to preach the Good News about the kingdom of God, first in Damascus
following the foot step of Jesus, who said in Luke 4 : 43 "I must also declare the
good news of the Kingdom of God to other cities, because for this I was sent.”

Many men of God has fallen away from being spiritually close to God Balaam loved the money Judas loved the money Ananias loved the money and we know where it took them in the end... So if you lose Paul's followers, believers, Tither's, donators... So is The Truth worth it... While I appreciate the potential transformation Paul might have undergone, I cannot agree with the seemingly authoritative assertions by both Mr. Richardson and Rood. In Galatians 1, Paul simply mentions "Arabia" (Strong's G688). Later in Galatians 4, Paul states, "Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia" (Mount Strong's G3735 and Sinai Strong's G4614). In the same book, Paul refers to Arabia in general and Mount Sinai specifically. He could have said, "I went to Mount Sinai in Arabia" if that were the case, but he did not. Nowhere in scripture does it state or imply that Paul visited or received anything at Mount Sinai. While it is possible he did, scripture does not confirm this.
This situation is common in life and Christianity, where individuals make glib and presumptuous claims unsupported by facts. Joel Richardson's assertion is not backed by scripture-a common mistake for new Christians, but also a tactic some use to generate revenue. I hope Joel falls into the former category. Nevertheless, it is a fascinating hypothesis, and I enjoyed the discussion.

    • @briancasserly744

It is intriguing to consider that Paul might have instinctively gone to modern Jebel al-Lawz in response to his transformative experience. Jesus completely changed his life and passions in an instant. As a devout, legalistic Pharisee, I can imagine Paul thinking, "Let me get away and be with the Lord," and going to Mount Sinai, only to find that the presence of the Lord was "not there." Perhaps this was the final nail in the coffin of his legalism. Or perhaps the Lord was there and revealed the Truth to Paul. Nevertheless, this is not supported by scripture.

I am a big fan of Joel, so don't take this wrong -
I can't believe Joel said - Paul got knocked off his horse. The scripture does not say Paul was on a horse....or a camel, donkey, chariot, walking, or in a Honda. It simply does not say what his mode of transpertation was. It it one of those traditions that gets repeated. It is like saying the 3 wise men came to the manger.

_Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ._
Who came and made war against the church?
_Acts 8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles._
_Acts 8:2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him._
_Acts 8:3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison._
_Acts 9:1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,_
_Acts 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day._
_Acts 22:4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women._
_Acts 22:5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished._
_Acts 26:11 And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities._
_Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:_
Paul came and did what Revelation (which was written after Paul) recorded that the dragon came and did.
It is Paul who came and made “war with the remnant which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
_Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ._

Paul knew Torah better than most of the great teachers of his day. As the great scholars of today, you can know the Word but not understand the message of the Word. Paul (like all of us) needed the Holy Spirit to illuminate the gospel message throughout the Torah. He then became the tool God used to break it down for the rest of us.

Paul is much more clear in the Hebrew NT. He’s not the heathen, it is clear in his Hebrew choice of words where the Greek could misunderstand his writings and make them slightly different and anti Torah. Paul says multiple times for the believers to adhere to the Torah and accept rebuke from it and respect God and his Torah. To which the Greek changes to “sound doctrine” passages and completely removing the Torah
