- I was not sure what to expect from Batu Ferringhi a Malaysian beach resort on the Island of Penang.
My experience of Malaysian beach resorts has always been one of dissapointment, would Batu Ferringhi be different.

Batu ferringhi is so touristy nowadays. I like quiet places on beaches.
I didn't find it too bad. But I can imagine that it can get busy.
1. Ahhhhhhhh yes.....d Lebanon restaurant. My friends n i hd dinner there a couple times.
2. Whn in penang, we usually stay at "The Tamarind".
I stay in cheap places, because I'm cheap lol. Heading to Jakarta tomorrow!

THanks for sharing this...I miss Ferringhi....@6:22 there is a great open massage place run by husband and wife George and Rose behind the hotel in the video where i always spend hours looking at the beach while getting foot massage everytime I stayed there. After 12 years of calling this hotel my home away from home I have to say goodbye coz I can't affort it after Marriott took over...and looks like the massage place is no longer there too😢

I have only been to Langkawi once, I need to go again, but yes by a long way.

Head to Langkawi beautiful Malaysian island whole island is duty free and then you can take a ferry to Koh Lipe Thailand an 1 hour ferry ride and then take the backpacker route into phi phi etc
If the reason to go any where is because it's duty free, it's probably not worth going to in the first place.
I have it been to Langkawi once, I was underwhelmed. As for the Thai islands, I would rather not. I prefer Chaing Mai or Pai.
