- Another clip from Steve Davis's 80's snooker chat show 'A Frame With Davis'.
Chris Searle had recently completed his BBC1 show 'In At The Deep End' where Jack Karneham coached Chris to play alongside Steve Davis in a doubles match with Alex Higgins and Tony Meo.
Here Chris discusses one of Steve's motivational tips that he'd passed on to him during the program...and Bernie Winters takes it to heart with an amazing result !!
Met him on a game show (Bernie Winters) in the mid 1980s he was just as nice in real life as you would expect him to be. Died tragically early at just 60 RIP Bernie it was a pleasure to meet you.
Love Bernie so talented sadly missed by many
I remember watching A Frame With Davis. Steve Davis is a legend.
As a child i saw Mike & Bernie Winters in pantomine & they came on stage on BMX bikes & crashed.I remember laughing all the way through the show
They doubtless crashed in the same way every night, and corpsed in the same way afterwards. Such is the 'spontaneity' of panto.
"SO - that's eggs, bacon and chips.....". Oh wow! Couldn't have scripted that any better. Hysterical. Brits at their 'Brit' best. Bernie was so funny. RIP.
"Can i have biscuit if i miss"? lol
@00woolley it is now you've posted
And then they had a rematch in 2010 and davis took it on the chin by joking about in the game.
Unlikely Bernie died in 1991.
I can remember watching his funeral on the news 📰, that sue pollard turned up in a short skirt up to her elbows, very strange 😒, RIP bernie not my favourite but an OK sort of guy
not all of us.....but he took it REAL bad...i was REAL glad to see him get beat!!
Bernie "One-Joke" Winters doing his "I'll have bacon/pork, oops, I'm Jewish" joke as always. He really should've stuck to Bernie Weinstein. Would've made that joke so much better!
