I saw a friend video their hut drill before their game against Bosco, I didn’t know that’s what it was but I was intrigued by the discipline overall. I’m not from Cali but it’s impressive to have these traditions instilled in a program for so long that the players are unconsciously committed to it and don’t take embarrassment from it. Super awesome

Seriously, I attended Servite in the 70s and then Notre Dame. Servite is not Notre Dame and this bagpipe reto history is silly. The hut drill yes, Maori drill no. This is cultural appropriation at its worse. In the end this is just football. Please don't take yourself too seriously!!!!!!

We did the Hut Drill. The other stuff is new to me, Class of 70 & coached there from 74 thru 79. 4D-s

The haka was added when kids of that culture were on the team. Nothing appropriated about it. They wanted to integrate their traditions. Nothing wrong with inclusion

Hut Drill was all we needed back in the day too.

@@larrykellom5144 where did the hut drill come from? I’m genuinely curious. I like the discipline tied to it in general.

@@Yaahboi52Coach George Dena started it at Servite. He told me he saw something like it at some college in Texas. He developed it in his own classy style. It was used by the first Servite varsity team, and became CIF champs in their division - and did it without seniors!
