@@lilantedits Aside from the rest of the quest, you don’t get to do a couple Hunter fights, including one of the best ones with the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst, miss a few poses, and miss a few runes. Also, if you completed the quest, she would’ve given the badge for her set anyway. If you didn’t care about any of the above, then it doesn’t affect the overall story.

You probably heard this a million times Afro but the reason you won the boss fight was that you stayed on the boss and stayed aggressive. Thats Bloodbourne in a nutshell. You can't play passive and dodge away like in dark souls, you have to go balls to the wall, dodge into them. Its a shift in philosophy, once you nail that, bloodborne gets a lot easier.

Than comes Ludwigs first phase which actively punishes you for sticking close to him and dodging towards him T-T

Still nothing beats when he went full Ultra Instinct against Isshin. Even I can't believe he beat him in just 3 tries.
I love this game. It’s so much more fluent than demon souls and dark souls. And the fact that every swing doesn’t take 10 seconds to complete is also a beautiful thing.
I absolutely loved elden ring and it’s one of the best games of all time but Bloodborne has to be my favorite game ever. The art style, how gory it is, the trick weapons… everything is perfect.
I bought Bloodborne back when it came out and just like Afro I never even got past the first boss. Over the years I’d try it every once and a while but nothing changed.
Then Sekiro came out and I beat it. I actually started watching Afros videos regularly because of Sekiro seeing as how I was a few hours ahead of him at any given time and enjoyed the vids so much.
Anyway to make a short story long, Sekiro gave me a whole new perspective on “Hard” video games and I went back to Bloodborne this last October and not only did I beat the first boss, I beat the entire game, on Halloween! Now I’m on my 4th playthrough and it’s easily one of my favorite games ever. Can’t wait to play Elden Ring.
I beat ds 2 and 3 several times but Bloodborne is just a different beast idk why it just feels weird and almost unplayable some times

That Vicar Amelia fight was tough. In case 5000 other comments haven't said it already, keep kiting, and don't back off like you would in Souls. Enemies in BB are designed to punish you for running away. And NEVER attack from the front if you can help it. Imagine every enemy has a "cone of death" projecting from its mouth
Ohhhh i actually like that play style i don't like backing up from an enemy and hearing this is making go and buy this game lol.
For Ebrietaus or whatever daughter of the cosmos’s name is lol, I like to play her from the front. She gives you more to punish from her that way imo
Learning the limb break mechanics is a game changer for bosses like amelia and paarl, but stunlocking bosses is kinda not fun unless you're powering through.

it looks quite ass to be fair but most of that ass comes from the pisspoor resolution and anti aliasing. also the poor framerate doesnt help. a small remaster would be a godsend for this game
@@Shayed07121997 From an artistic standpoint, it definitely still shines. I think the aesthetics, landscapes, boss arenas, and bosses are super interesting and well done. But yeah I agree with you, a remaster would do wonders.

This could have come at a more perfect time today. Rode home from college listening to lore videos about bloodborne while playing elden ring and enjoying this series. Love to see others struggle in what was weirdly my first souls game and this content is top tier.

@@jaidenfarland9455 No lie!!! She had me on the brink of uninstalling Elden Ring after I put in 112 hours. She was unbelievably frustrating and I beat her on a whim after several hours of attempts. Her second phase is just flat out disrespectful.

Hell, he could look up a guide on every boss but he'd still have to fight them. Same for finding something out in the wild. You still gotta do the actual work to get it. Guides are made by the community to help people. I think it makes things better to know there's an option to help if you're stuck

When I fought Amelia, I spent a few hours going back and forth trying her a couple times & grinding for levels & blood vials. Keep going, you got this.
Despite living in Yarnham for a year. Amelia is still scary to watch.
Afro. Check out the health recovery through attacking that Bloodborne lets you do, that is one of the most critical aspects of combat.
That little while line in your healthbar after you take a hit? It shows how much health you stand to get back if you go on the attack.
You really gotta get bloodlusted in BB to start to feel it
Yeah, dodging can only get you so far. Specially against most bosses. They are too fast and have insane combos that can one shot.
It's weird that bloodborne actually encourages greeding. Normally in a souls game if you get hit the best idea is to back up and heal, in this one its better to go on the offense

Hey Afro! One super huge mechanic in this game is the Rally system. After getting hit, that small amount of orangish health is fully recoverable if you do keep attacking. This game provides incentive to bring aggressive and taking the initiative to dodge and get quick hits in. I really hope you don’t give up on this game, it’s phenomenal. Come back to it at your own pace.

I love bloodborne and it's still one of my favorite games till this day. I haven't picked up Elden ring yet because I am trying to save money and i just dont have the time to game as much as i used to anymore but i can't wait to get my hands on it this summer when I finish this semester at my university

For me what really clicked was the exploration, the map just kept getting bigger and bigger and so it just kept me super invested. To me the game felt like dark souls 3 and skyrim had a baby and i love those two games. I kept saying im going to do a second play through but ive decided not to, deff got burnt out.

I grinder bloodborne hard. Was my first ever souls game and I beat the full game by myself. I ended up having over 140 hours in bloodborne. One of my favorite games of all time
I already have 180 hours in Elden Ring.
I quit Bloodborne for about 6 month before I got back to it but trust the difficulty curve is hardest in the beginning. After I got in the motion an you master a weapon it's an ez clap. Haven't played Elden ring yet but I feel like Bloodborne is a prerequisite courses man. Good luck Brother.
Basically how all Souls games go. The hardest parts are the earliest. The game gets significantly easier when the more you play as you get familiar with its play style. I would strongly recommend playing Dark Souls III first before Elden Ring.
@@Manganization I guess I took the hard route. Never played a Souls game before Bloodborne it was an amazing experience. To be honest I borrowed a system to play it. But I would definitely go PS if when I buy a console. The atmosphere and the story was everything man.

You can parry the big dudes with the big ass sword pretty easily. Also, the forbidden forrest is full of traps. If you go off to the side you can ambush the enemies that are waiting to ambush you on the main path.
Dodging is really the only way to avoid attacks in this game. But the game is balanced for that type of play style. I’m sure you can finish BB considering that you beat DS3 and Sekiro. You’re also making great progress with Elden Ring.
I say give BB another shot. Maybe after Elden Ring 🤷🏾♂️ Obviously up to you lol

@@sashalvy I have but only like to the Werewolf guy. I either didn't have it happen or I didn't notice, my bad but either way bloodborne is the only game that they do this in. And I don't think they are souls in bloodborne, I think it's blood. There is an enemy in Elden Ring that will take your Runes if you die in a particular area, but not anywhere else.
@@Bobdylan12121 yeah if an enemy walks over your souls they take them but you can get them back if you kill them, you’ll know which one they are cause they have purple glowing eyes

I've never played bloodborne, but based off the mechanics, it rewards the player for being aggressive. Seems like you recover health if you attack after being recently hit, so just stay aggressive.

Bro, the Ludwig fight. You gotta do it, it's a masterpiece. It's like the literal definition of taking part in a deadly dance. If you decide not to continue bloodborne, maybe look up the fight. It's SO good.
Probably the worst fight in the game for actual balance. You have to be overlevelled and tank so much damage, as opposed to every other boss where you can just dodge.

Just a quick tip: all beast enemies are weak to fire and serrated weapons like the saw cleaver or saw spear. On Vicar Amelia for example, you could've easily staggered her if you just used a different weapon (or if it was properly upgraded, but that requires some in-game knowledge of item locations of course)
