  • In the past, we have talked about how product reviews usually get the least amount of traffic on a website. That's still true, but it doesn't have to be that way. Look at websites like Pack Hacker and the Wire Cutter that are totally dedicated to product reviews. And they are totally KILLING IT. In this video we will talk about why that is. So many reviews either don't rank or don't get any traffic. If you can relate, we promise there are tips in this video for you.

    REVIEW MORE THAN ONCE There are a minimum of three product review (series work) you can do. One is unboxing/first impressions. Two is product Ive loved/hated this month/after a month. Third is why I upgraded/still love/ abandoned. Then a group review of rideOrDie/favorites/Neveragain. There’s probably more. But ROI on the initial purchase is leveraged - people may read the “don’t use anymore” and may still purchase because it doesn’t affect them OR be led to your latest greatest review of the upsell.

    I love you guys but this is SOOOOOOOOOO unrealistic. Most of us are trying to start a business on pennies. There is absolutely NO MONEY for me to buy a bunch of products. NOOOOOOO WAAAAAY. Now, I have written reviews on things I haven't owned. But only after a ton of research. What I do is comb Amazon and other places that have large numbers of product reviews and read EVERYTHING - and I mean everything. The good, bad and ugly. Here's what happens. It's amazing the consensus you find on pet peeves and complaints and positives. I take those seriously and mention them as potential drawbacks. There are way too many people struggling to get started that simply can't afford what you are suggesting.

    • @IncomeSchool
      @IncomeSchool  Před 4 lety +2

      That’s totally fine. The point is that as soon as you can, you should step it up. You can get a lot from amazon reviews. But they’ll never give you the same insights that owning a product and using it in your routine will.
      So if you can’t, don’t. But if you never do, you risk getting outranked by a site that will.

    Can you please tell us where in the content we should place the affiliate links to buy the product? And how many we should have?

    Thank you!

    • @aaronfreeman8252
      @aaronfreeman8252 Před 3 lety +2

      I would say separate posts. For me as a consumer, it's critical to be able to see the date and author of the content.
      Not only that, but pages are typically used for static, rarely changing things such as About Me, Resources, Privacy Policy, and stuff like that. 🙂

  • @jc4evur661
    @jc4evur661 Před 4 lety +2

    Why not build not so direct review pages?
    Let's say you want to promote/review the Top 5 Recliners but you notice that the top 10 listings on Google for Best Recliners is already dominated by very well built pages?
    Yet, you notice the term How To Choose The Best Recliner is a winnable keyword...why not build a lengthy, awesome page answering that question and at the bottom of that page you say something like..."So which recliners do we feel best match the criteria that we've outlined in our article above? Here's our Top 5" Then offer your review.
    The advantages here are that you know people are in the market for a recliner, it's why they're reading your article (buyer intent)
    You've gained their trust by providing a quality article that rates highly at Google...plus it doesn't smell like a review
    You give them recommendations that have already narrowed down their search for them.
    Make this article into a Staple or Pillar article and you have a better chance of ranking this sneaky/indirect review page as #1 at Google.

The first two were easy to write because I thought they had lots of positive features to point out. However, the latest one has several flaws and issues that I'd want to point out in an honest review but afraid that the company might lash out over a bad review. I read reviews for traveling, and I can tell you there are only two (that I found) who I trust and subscribe to. They aren't even ranked in Google. I was just very lucky to stumble across their content. Those are the authors who Google is going to rank when they do their major "Authentic" update.
      Affiliate market is going to die. Keep your ear close to the ground and you'll hear the buffalo coming. It's due. And people around the internet are already talking about how it needs to change. This might be why Rick and the other guy decided to sell off all their affiliate blogs.

    A lot of comments here are negative saying that it's too expensive to buy all these products to give real reviews. Heres my solution: start with what you have then as you create income with your site you can start buying the items you can review. Another option is to ask a friend who might have this item and ask to try out there product. Mind you, this may not work for all niches but may work for most. A final option is what Jim & Ricky brought up before which is to go to the store or place the item is located and test it out in that store getting real hands on experience with it if possible for your niche. Check out what I did here ( czcams.com/video/a4tkfVMrDHg/video.html) with a bike I already owned for a year. Let me know your thoughts.

Do you think this would cause me problems with Google, and am I even allowed to do this? I have no problem rewriting the other pages if needed. Now, I have read some articles that say that you can really lose Ad sense rights and get banned on those sites very easy. I am thinking about finishing it and launching it and not "ad sensing" it for a while just so I can test the waters and then after a few months Ad sense it. Is that a good move ? Since the niche is neither micro nor macro but more micro than macro .. and I could face some issues with ad sense because it is a food related niche I wanna make sure it flies well before I monetize it with ads. What do I do ? Thank you so much for your input. ...is there an alternative to Ad sense ?

      You’ll want to launch it without ads for a while until it gets some traffic. Adsense is one of the easiest ad options to get approval for and most alternatives have minimum traffic requirements. I’d just launch the site and build up the traffic before applying for ads.

      @@IncomeSchool Thank you. That is what I will do. Launch it and then see how it flies for a while. It will get traffic fast because of the specific niche but we will see. I don't wanna get banned from Ad Sense.

      @@IncomeSchool Thank you so much for the reply. That is what I was thinking. Launch it and let it sit for a while. If, for any reason I get banned from Ad sense, is there a way to re-apply?

    What about getting free products for reviews?

    • @Nigel__
      @Nigel__ Před 2 lety

      Yup. If companies see you as a credible reviewer with a decent following, they will offer you free products in exchange for a review. Or one can contact different companies and offer to review their products.

    #Question
    Would be great if you help because i have a flop blog with only 6000 per month views in a year but one of my post is getting 1000 views per month and i can make sales through.
    I want to add more content and make changes to make it better but i am afraid that it will effect negatively and i may lose even 1000 views that i am getting right now

    I'm already doing this! I buy the expensive product(s) and test them out and write a long meaty review. I did that with this guitar: gear-vault.com/my-thoughts-xaviere-xv550-guitar/
    I took my own pictures of the product!
    It does appear I might have made the mistake of making "it too much about me". But I wanted to come across natural and authentic. I am so sick of reading "affiliate" reviews (reviews you know are just a blogger trying to sell you something, anything). And when they have default manufacture images, it really makes me puke in my mouth. This is solid advice and something I think Google is going to crack down on. Affiliate sites are spammy, users know it is spam... google wants "good user experience" which means they are going to eventually cut out these spammy affiliate websites despite being 5,000 words with the best keyword optimization. I was hit by Panda and I am still cleaning up my site. I am not going to put out content that gives a bad user experience anymore. Because no matter how great and well written your content is, if users don't trust it... then google is going to drop that page to oblivion. Affiliate marketing is about to get hit by Google. Mark my words.
