In so many ways, we celebrated and worship, but still I was under the European beliefs. You ask why Africans speak about Egypt? Take the steam Engine for example, though 'invented' in a different continent, you can't speak about it without talking about America. Egypt represents the climax of African civilisations. Because of its climate it has the best archaeological evidence. Besides, it doesn't add up to say that Egypt was an Island that developed exclusively of its neighbouring people. Africans must take a close look at Egypt because this represents the best that Africans achieved.

Nana thanks for the education on the history of Africa. It is so sad we not have any lesson as a subject as African studies. Where we are taught the our history. How can we raise a generation of people with self confidence of who they are. Hmmm. I want you to know the bible which is manipulated( by King James to help the white rule the blacks) still have evidence of who we are as Africans. If only we can read and see with our heart. I have done a lot of research and I can tell you by giving verse and historical prove and cultural practices in the bible that Africans were the people of old civilisation. Soon a nation will be born. I know who I am.
I hear the frustration about Egypt being repeated here but let's not be distracted from the point our elder is trying to make. However words do matter, tremendously. Egypt is a European word. Ancient people of this region referred to the area and beyond as Kmt or land of the blacks. I think we should replace Egypt with the term Nile Valley Civilization or other which begins at the source of the Nile River in the Great Lakes Region in South East Africa to the Mediterranean Sea. Even the word 'Nile' is of Greek origin! While our uncle is not wrong, I think we need to start using better language to describe where our ancestors came from including thier cultural and spiritual contributions which certainly did not come from the country we now refer to as 'Egypt' alone. A good start is renaming every place on the continent with names used by our ancestors up to and including changing the word used for the continent which also comes from the Greeks and Romans (the fact that Lake Victoria is named after a British monarch makes me physically ill to my stomach and feels abusive to my spirit). One last point, much of our culture and history was passed down through oral tradition and written script not well documented and studied like that of ancient Egypt. The knowledge from other regions is still there but need to be brought to light, studied, documented and discussed more which is happening now at lightening speed. We should not concentrate on past glory. We have history and the culture. But modern history, blacks we are lagging behind. Let us harness our abilities and let us behind. We are reading books about ancient Egypt written by foreigners. Our learned are talking of knowledge when they read from books written by foreigners and speak in other tongue.
Our original culture is numbers. Numbers are the root of every science. Numbers cause creativity and intelligence. Sound is an overlay of numbers. Colors are number frequencies. I enjoyed both segments. It has really help me to return back to my African culture. I was raised as a Christian in the USA. I was never taught my "true" religion. You ask why Africans speak about Egypt? Take the steam Engine for example, though 'invented' in a different continent, you can't speak about it without talking about America. Egypt represents the climax of African civilisations. Because of its climate it has the best archaeological evidence. Besides, it doesn't add up to say that Egypt was an Island that developed exclusively of its neighbouring people. Africans must take a close look at Egypt because this represents the best that Africans achieved.
You are most correct; Egypt/kemet was a repository of knowledge in Afrika and all of the Afrikan types were represented there much the same as folks from all over Europe can be found in London or new York City. Afrikans came from as far as south Afrika to kemet.
And where are the black people in Egypt today?

Just take a look at the paintings on the tomb. And compare to afar or berja people of Sudan. Some also came down south coast of west Africa like in Ghana, Nigeria, ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Oman, Palestine, Yemen etc...

The western approach to punishment is deferred yill judgement day or a distant future or after death while that of our practice was almost immediate. Nana thanks for the education on the history of Africa. It is so sad we not have any lesson as a subject as African studies. Where we are taught the our history. How can we raise a generation of people with self confidence of who they are. Hmmm. I want you to know the bible which is manipulated( by King James to help the white rule the blacks) still have evidence of who we are as Africans. If only we can read and see with our heart. I have done a lot of research and I can tell you by giving verse and historical prove and cultural practices in the bible that Africans were the people of old civilisation. Soon a nation will be born. I know who I am.
I hear the frustration about Egypt being repeated here but let's not be distracted from the point our elder is trying to make. However words do matter, tremendously. Egypt is a European word. Ancient people of this region referred to the area and beyond as Kmt or land of the blacks. I think we should replace Egypt with the term Nile Valley Civilization or other which begins at the source of the Nile River in the Great Lakes Region in South East Africa to the Mediterranean Sea. Even the word 'Nile' is of Greek origin! While our uncle is not wrong, I think we need to start using better language to describe where our ancestors came from including thier cultural and spiritual contributions which certainly did not come from the country we now refer to as 'Egypt' alone. A good start is renaming every place on the continent with names used by our ancestors up to and including changing the word used for the continent which also comes from the Greeks and Romans (the fact that Lake Victoria is named after a British monarch makes me physically ill to my stomach and feels abusive to my spirit).
One last point, much of our culture and history was passed down through oral tradition and written script not well documented and studied like that of ancient Egypt. The knowledge from other regions is still there but need to be brought to light, studied, documented and discussed more which is happening now at lightening speed. We are reading books about ancient Egypt written by foreigners. Our learned are talking of knowledge when they read from books written by foreigners and speak in other tongue.
Our original culture is numbers. Numbers are the root of every science. Numbers cause creativity and intelligence. Sound is an overlay of numbers. Colors are number frequencies. We understand the dark universe (magnetic energy wave frequencies) and the light universe (electrical particle materials) through numbers. Pure numbers do not lie.
