Deadly Accident!! Police TRY to resuscitate after Shark Dive Treasure Hunt

- Today started as a fun day diving with sharks and Metal Detecting search finding lost treasures underwater, then it all took a turn for the worst. I hear from underwater a very loud noise, I surface to see the west pac helicopter dropping a paramedic onto the rocks to help police perform CPR on a Patient. Stunned and confused I didn't know what exactly happened to this person. This all happened just 30 metres from where I was diving. I didn't know the person was even there and drowning so very close to me!!
Accidents can happen in a blink of an eye, always keep a close eye on your children and NOT your PHONES, ALWAYS swim between the RED and YELLOW flags!!
This really hit me, my best mate was also claimed by the sea. I have had a few close calls of drowning swallowing water its a terrifying experience.

This hit me hard, I lost a mate to the ocean and I have had close calls of drownings myself, its NOT a peaceful experience like in the movies. It's really bloodyTerrifying!! PLEASE keep a close eye on our children ALWAYS. ONLY swim in permitted areas, REMEMBER if you can FLOAT you will survive NEVER panic. Raise your hand and our LIFE GUARDS will come for YOU❤

This is so sad I feel so bad for the family of that poor victim plus I feel bad for you there's nothing you could've done like you said you didn't even know they were in there.
That incident must have was tough for you to witness. You were very thought of the person and his/her family. Sorry to hear.
Prayers for peace, comfort, strength and healing. Blessings to you for all you do. One tip I learned decades ago in a school water safety course in landlocked Wyoming (USA) was if you’re ever caught in a rip DON’T try to swim straight to shore. You’ll just tire yourself out. Instead swim parallel to the shore until you clear the rip; then swim in!

My heart goes out to that person and their family. Living by the Atlantic shore, I'm well aware of the power of the ocean and don't personally go into the water anymore. I've been knocked down by the waves and had trouble getting my feet. It's terrifying. You have such a good heart, Michael. Hugs to you.

My older brother was a commercial fisherman in Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada and a rogue wave slammed his boat and put him in 4 degree water. They did recover him and he was still alive and the machine needed to save his life was 5 hours away. My brother passed at the hospital as his core body temp dropped so low his body shut down due to the cold water. Water is a force of nature that can take a life or save a life. My condolences for the loss of your friend as I know how hard it is to lose someone that way.
Hey man, you take it easy. You care so much about the planet, animals, your fellow man, you know and understand what the family is going thru. Even when you are so upset you found the time to share tips on water safety. You probably don't realize it, but the way you present and follow water safety protocols has already saved lives. Michael mate as a fellow diver of many years I’ve come to realise it’s very sad ,some people are very aware of thier surroundings & can cope some not so in tune with danger it can go horribly wrong real quick .not a thing you or I can do about it other than what you do teach show people as in your final screen info about within the flags ,cheers brother I’ve saved 2 youngsters from drowning years ago while on holiday Qld & Merimbula had 2 life threatening moment myself while diving thank god I survived take Time out with family & soldier on 😘

Many years ago I was abalone diving on the north coast of California and a diver had a heart attack around the bend from us. Helicopter came in and hovered over my buddy and I so we got out and watched as many people looked for him to no avail. It’s a very hard thing to witness and think about sometimes.

Hugs brother been there as a medic, emotions are good and love seeing a guy reacting honestly to the realization that a major tragedy just happened meters away. This is how we should feel and react; some of your first thoughts were this person’s family and friends have just lost a part of their lives.

In the U.K. several children have drowned in the rivers and lakes last week as it's been school holidays, they think that the water is hot because it's a sunny day but the water is cold

A good day turned bad for that family, not good at all mate, hope they are all good. The ocean can be unforgiving sometimes, the power of water is an awesome element that needs to be respected.
On another note I will be with Dan tomorrow and will be removing some items from the river up here, he is all rigged up and ready to go eta 9:30am.

I was unfortunately witness to a drowning, still haunts me today 40+ years later. I now have a first aid qualification and would be so much better prepared if I ever came across it again.

Where I live there is not enough interest for people to be hired as lifeguards. So my beaches are going to be swim at your own risk. Please be safe out there.
I was given Advice when I was a Boy that, The more Beautiful a Location is the more Dangerous it is , Yes I too have seen the Westpac Helicopter at Sydney's Beaches quite a few times in my Life

Yeh I almost drowned once as a kid. Thinking back about it it was terrifying to realise I was just seconds away from death. I survived fine though.

Wobbegongs are harmless and mostly fish eaters..Leave them alone...If they attack you,you were doing something wrong...They are not normally an aggressive species..Very sad to see someone in serious trouble

Wobbegong sharks might have little sharp teeth but they are certainly not aggressive unless you poke or annoy them like anything. I have dived around Sydney and the coast being my home for over 30 years in that time coming in contact with many wobbies and have never annoyed one. And are you really serious? Talk about over dramatise! You should know it happens quite a bit in our beaches that’s why we have life guards etc and working on someone for 10 mins is nothing at all

I got pulled out once by the rip tide and although I was in really good shape (weight lifting, running etc.) it wore me out because I didn't know how to respond to it. I tried to swim against it and I was so tired I thought I was a goner. Good to learn water safety for sure. Sorry about your mate.
