I work in the food industry and this is true, these migrants, once employed, can get anyone to use their account. Literally anyone, regardless of background checks, criminal record, etc could be doing your delivery. We have had several issues with drivers harassing young female members of staff.
A member of an Nigerian family who lived across from me,drove a taxi,I would then witness multiple men using that taxi as means of work,THAT in my opinion ended the taxi industry here for the Irish man trying to make a living.

black taxi drivers rip you off at night time, telling you card readers don't work and over charging. Last guy tried to charge me 50 euro for a 25 euro fare. So took a pic of his metre and called police, they turned up asked what's going on showed them the pic and explained the guy was overcharging. Office asked what should it be told him 25, he went to the black taxi driver came back and told me to pay him 25. When I asked why are you not going to anything about this fraud, I was told to shut my fucking mouth, they then let him drive away and dropped me home the rest of the way. Police in Ireland are letting these people away with committing crime.

Great citizen journalist, live from Dublin. Separately in the Indo today, an article on the riots in Newtownmount Kennedy . It says foreign far right agitators organised it. This is corrupt journalism. We seen the video of an unprovoked baton charge on the elderly residents. They then arrested and charged them. In court they were identified as local residents, many of whom were arrested outside their own front door. The only foreigner there was the accredited Gript journalist who after identifying herself was then pepper sprayed. That’s why we need honest citizens journalist like Bogtrotter to counter official MSM lies.
Unfortunately as a Charity Volunteer, I personally took 2 calls from callers in 2 separate parts of Ireland who had been collecting for Cancer a few weeks ago. Both had been robbed in broad daylight by immigrants outside Supermarkets on the busiest streets in their towns. Both had been pushed to the ground & both were elderly but were also experienced volunteers. Each incident was reported to local Gardai. Needless to say they were both shocked & had suffered trauma in these attacks both of whom were older people in broad daylight. In both cases the person doing the robbery had an obvious immigrant accomplice. This is shameful. As a volunteer for my Charity we support people in emotional distress & trauma. This 3:17 reality on the streets is now being reflected in the calls we receive. Shame, shame & shame on our Politicians for not bothering to care or even notice the distress of a significant minority of our people as a result of untrammelled immigration.
Yet there are still lrish people who will defend this type of behaviour. Ireland was never a colonial power. It does not have to wear the guilt of it's past oppressor the Uk. The lrish when migrating helped build countries they went to they never took. It is insane what is happening to lreland.

@@museonfilm8919 If you are on your own, too ill to cook and just manage to answer the door - on good days. Eating the leftovers on the days you are bed bound. Where I live all the local shops and restaurants have stopped delivering themselves after the pandemic. They are all now on Uber Eats, Just Eat or Deliveroo. The quality of the food is mostly poor. Unhealthy fast food that often arrives soggy and cold sometimes with items missing. It’s expensive for what you get and if you are alone your choice is even more limited as most of them have high minimum orders. You can of cause order from an Irish restaurant and I often do, but quality wise it doesn’t make a difference.

In the 3 hours we were there hundreds of people walked by, drove by etc. We reckon 10% were native Irish. We were totally taken aback by our observations. It was truly shocking. Women with burkas pushing fancy prams etc. We were a minority in our own City. This is appalling and we are livid with FG and FF Grns who have clearly done this on purpose.

Uber told me the same when I notified them the person who delivered my order didn’t match the photo of the person who was supposed to delivered, not even the same sex.
The reason why the contract allows you to get anyone else to do your deliveries means that the rider is self employed, the revenue can't argue they are an employee - No minimum wage, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no maternity pay, no being sued for breach of employment contract, no employers payroll taxes.
I worked with an Afghanistan man he was security and he was staying in an asylum centre for free even though he was working full time as security and with deliveroo part time, it would be great if Irish citizens didn’t have to pay rent and got a chance to get started. I work as a self employed driver in Belfast since their launch in 2016, however now with all the people living in hotels and working self employed as well as getting everything paid for, it's impossible to earn money if you actually file tax returns as I have done since 2017.

In London Kingston and other UK cities, these delivery guys are running women over on crossings. Where are their health and safety certificates and food and hygiene? They should also carry an identity lanyard.

The reopening of the Curragh prison camp is under active review by the Government. It is closed since 1984, reopened early 70s to contain the spillover from the Northern conflict. The interviewers there can see and that is obvious that so many people are making up the stuff they are saying even on the go, then these stories you are saying about the deliver guys in bikes, there was a time a few years ago that not only deliveroo and those but those little like tricycle bikes moving people around by night during the weekend and beyond, well, those were the dudes controlling the whole ecstasy selling thing in Dublin. Running around night clubs and house parties all over the place, and that iust only the tip of the iceberg. Easy money brother. And I don't know fort sure about the Taxis how they work or licenses are moved around, for hire, sale or other ways but there was an extraordinary amount of african dudes, Nigerians, etc driving lots and lots of taxis in Dublin and for sure there was something quite dodgy about that... In the UK courier industry the same issue is being faced....it all hangs around the definition of " self employed". Unfortunately as a Charity Volunteer, I personally took 2 calls from callers in 2 separate parts of Ireland who had been collecting for Cancer a few weeks ago. Both had been robbed in broad daylight by immigrants outside Supermarkets on the busiest streets in their towns. Both had been pushed to the ground & both were elderly but were also experienced volunteers. Each incident was reported to local Gardai.
Needless to say they were both shocked & had suffered trauma in these attacks both of whom were older people in broad daylight. In both cases the person doing the robbery had an obvious immigrant accomplice. This is shameful. As a volunteer for my Charity we support people in emotional distress & trauma. This 3:17 reality on the streets is now being reflected in the calls we receive. Shame, shame & shame on our Politicians for not bothering to care or even notice the distress of a significant minority of our people as a result of untrammelled immigration.

Where I live all the local shops and restaurants have stopped delivering themselves after the pandemic. They are all now on Uber Eats, Just Eat or Deliveroo. The quality of the food is mostly poor. Unhealthy fast food that often arrives soggy and cold sometimes with items missing. It’s expensive for what you get and if you are alone your choice is even more limited as most of them have high minimum orders. You can of cause order from an Irish restaurant and I often do, but quality wise it doesn’t make a difference.

In the 3 hours we were there hundreds of people walked by, drove by etc. We reckon 10% were native Irish. We were totally taken aback by our observations. It was truly shocking. Women with burkas pushing fancy prams etc. We were a minority in our own City. This is appalling and we are livid with FG and FF Grns who have clearly done this on purpose.

The reason why the contract allows you to get anyone else to do your deliveries means that the rider is self employed, the revenue can't argue they are an employee - No minimum wage, no holiday pay, no sick pay, no maternity pay, no being sued for breach of employment contract, no employers payroll taxes.

I work as a self employed driver in Belfast since their launch in 2016, however now with all the people living in hotels and working self employed as well as getting everything paid for, it's impossible to earn money if you actually file tax returns as I have done since 2017.

Drivers sending in their 8 year old daughter into kfc to get an order because they can’t speak a word of English. It’s the Wild West out there now with the illegal electric motorbikes. Deliveroo are completely complicit in human smuggling.

The interviewers there can see and that is obvious that so many people are making up the stuff they are saying even on the go, then these stories you are saying about the deliver guys in bikes, there was a time a few years ago that not only deliveroo and those but those little like tricycle bikes moving people around by night during the weekend and beyond, well, those were the dudes controlling the whole ecstasy selling thing in Dublin. Running around night clubs and house parties all over the place, and that iust only the tip of the iceberg. Easy money brother. And I don't know fort sure about the Taxis how they work or licenses are moved around, for hire, sale or other ways but there was an extraordinary amount of african dudes, Nigerians, etc driving lots and lots of taxis in Dublin and for sure there was something quite dodgy about that... I don't know man but Ireland and Dublin for that matter were never racist, this is a different thing, I think that people are starting to realize that the Authorities don't care about the citizens and every foreigner legal or not can do as they please no matter what. It's getting only worse

I'm so glad that we don't have Humza here in Scotland. However it's possible I could fall foul to his horrendous law regarding free speech. I'm not so worried at a personal level but scary for the future.

In the UK courier industry the same issue is being faced....it all hangs around the definition of " self employed". As such you have the right to substitute who does the work.....if not then you fall under worker status with associated rights. One legitimate account holder can feed endless unregulated suppliers
In England though, Deliveroo riders get a pretty rough time - gangs of young thugs have been known to lure them into dangerous areas late at night and attack them 'for fun'. It's pretty sickening.

You are bang on! And gig economy rules need to be clamped down: most are here illegally, on a student visa: they are supposed to be vetted but then can rent accounts to other people that are unvetted. And people using uber and deliveroo or just eat: you are financing that. Stop using it!
