Beautiful drive, we take it all the time. We cut through Doddridge/Weber to get over to SPID without going by way of Crosstown Express. This is less hectic and better scenery. 😁

Just got back from Corpus and stayed at The Emerald Beach Hotel in Ocean Drive. We stayed 7 days and we loved it. The beach sand was white and the ocean made it so cool out. Thanks for. Video

That's what it looks like to me Wade. At a certain time of day they light up the water fountains there and turn them on during the day for people to play in. It's kind of neat.

Good morning sir. I'm glad they kept that area open for recreational use. I noticed there was a large gate but it was open. Not sure if they ever close it or if that's just a relic from the Naval air station days

I'm really enjoying these long drives. They help me understand where many of the places you've shown us individually are relative to each other. I've got to work harder so I can buy one of those "starter castles" just outside of the downtown. Awesome homes! My new neighbors probably wouldn't appreciate the garden railroad I'd have my groundskeeper build though.

The last time I tried going to an air show was at NAS-Kingsville and by the time we got to our exit on 77, the police were turning us around because there had been a crash. This was in 2000. It was sad.

I want my truck to fit in wherever I go. Not to stand out.
First of all I watched all these videos and then drove to Corpus Christi and this is what I saw.
The downtown was abandoned and even worse the suburbs appeared abandoned. Even the luxury homes along the bay front had grown out yards and driveways. Additionally when you drive through the city you'll realize that the police are in your rear view mirror.
The psychology behind Corpus Christi and areas nearby feel like this to me.
When the jobs leave town it's doesn't matter how nice your home looks, you'll eventually lose it financially or by becoming as mentioned by being a statistic of crime.
The abandoned feeling of this city basically gives you the feeling that the police eventually said "hell" and just arrested everyone.
As a tourist you have to realize that the only good paying job is giving you a ticket. This city is an example of a community arrested into submission.
These videos "attempt" to lure people into these dangerous places. I can't tell who's producing them, it's either cops that need traffic quotas or criminals who have robbed the same people over and over and need fresh meat.
The positive is that the gas is cheap so you have no reason to be stuck in this part of the country. Use it wisely!
