That bassline is iconic
Do you mean this one? 3:21
But seriously yeah it's iconic as.
@@frankbeams2374most likely the opening bassline
Bro facts
@@frankbeams2374"I'm done now goodbye"
Arguably the best Tom ever sounded playing this
Mark Tom and Travis show is better
@@codykurz3606 tbf most of Tom’s vocals were re-recorded in a studio
@@JGrantUK source?
I disagree Chicago in 2001 is by far better
There's always one...
That outro is actually beautiful. It's like saying goodbye to high school. I miss being a kid. Adult life is just so difficult. 😔 still, let's keep going.
Adult life sucks sweaty ass. Adult life should be made illegal.
Feeling you on this! Let’s keep going 💪🏻We got this.
So true, Especially the Livin La Vida Loca part really made me miss highschool 🤣🤣🤣.
Agree from Germany... ;)
I want die bro, adult life is a shit
Cmon Mark!! You got this! We love you, get well soon.
And so he did
@@hectord27 Badass
Travis is killing it like always.
Travis getting appropriate amounts of screen time for once
As it should be.
For real! I loved when he threw his stick and got another one
Ok dk rider
@@Marco-717 Nah, I was really bad at the Donkey Kong games. I blame it on ADHA
He’s the only one worth it when they’re on stage honestly haha 😂 I love them all, but he’s really the only one putting on the best show 🤷🏻♂️
I think my favorite part is Mark messing up the intro 2 bars in 😂
God this sounded so good though!!!
Tom’s guitar playing here was solid af, and Mark jumping around the stage was so dope. Probably one of their best “ true Blink “ shows
You mess up at your job too!
Tbf i don’t think ive ever seen mark play the intro perfectly lol. It’s an easy yet hard intro
Makes me feel better every time I mess up trying to play it 😂
Man they have changed so much since then. I was at this concert! It was my first concert. I was like 12 😢
"How many songs do you have with the same four chord progression?"
Blink 182: "Yes"
The challenge is making hit songs with those four chords.. It's not easy otherwise everyone would be doing it.
@@IceBreakBottle I c wut u did thar
Million$$$$$$ worth
@@IceBreakBottle the charts are littered with the same four chords, the real challenge is writing an interesting hit song

Gotta be the best blink song. So much nostalgia
Agreed!
It's a good punk kid song. Definitely is what I first remember as Blink 182, and they never really delivered much more like this
Im 27 and been a blink fan for as long as i can remember, but somehow I never listened to Cheshire Cat. Long story short I've played carousel well over a hundred times this year alone. Obsessed with the fast skater punk shit!! This is my favorite blink era for sure now.
@@aodili1 Carousel and Dude Ranch are the only albums that matter to me. Travis Barker is not for me
@@zanedietlin7645Well Carousels not an album. Also there were two other albums before Travis
You can tell they were having fun
"Check me out, im on fire!" Hahaha, you can see the joy in all of them at this time.
😂 love when tom says that. So happy he’s back and hopefully still has that personality on stage
@@samirabed7946 nah. He ain’t the same anymore. That ego really got to him.
@@1Capnjazz how’s he different?
@@davisjohnson7691When he came to South America this year he was the only one who didn't go out to greet the fans outside the hotel. He only looks cool on stage and on TV, but not when he has fans around him.
@@alexistorres2082 Travis has always been like that. He’s shy. It’s not necessarily him being a douche. Mark and Tom are both extroverts. Travis is more of an introvert
“Check me out! I’m on fire”
Proceeds to absolutely butcher the rest of the bridge
I'm so trying to figure out why they always fuck up the performance of that song XD
Mark's number at the very end is gold xD
that shit cracked me up
just dudes having fun. badass band
Good ass band
carousel is my favourite song of blink 182, i think its their best song so far
mark was absolutely born for this career. lmaao
Hard to believe this is only 3 years before Box Car Racer
It's wild. Tom always changed into a different look/style each album. Dude Ranch Era: Blonde Hair Kinda Plain
Enema: Tom wears the Dickies, hurley T, short hair.
TOYPAJ: Dickies Pants, Hurley Tshirt with long sleeve under. Longer hair. The bangs begin.
Untitled: full all out bangs. Tighter shirts and pants. Full emo.
AVA: 06-07: weird hair parted down the middle. Full blown into painkillers. Lol
PS Tom’s voice got a lot deeper between 1992-1999 and it got deeper still from 2000-2003 and ridiculously deep thereafter great performance of carousel by the way
It’s almost like his voice range matches the progression of Melodyne LOL
this band rocks
2:01 yeah Tom we all checking you out bro, you are a fucking beast
Wow epic ty !!
best live from them that i have seen so far
amazing video quality for being 1999
This is .... awesome! 😅 I love this song. Total justice served. Well done!
The skate punk style was awesome back then. Or just the style of clothing that Blink wore. I feel like it would work today
FUCK yea it would. Nowadays nobody gives a shit, wear it!!
I’m still wearing baggy Dickies shorts and XXL t shirts and various brands of skate shoes all these years later!!👊🏽🤣😁👍🏽
Сколько бы времени не прошло а песня одна из и лучших!!!))))))))))))
best live version of this song ever!
Welcome back, Tom!
Unperfect Blinks Live is perfect...
02:10" Tom' s secret guitar technique" 😂🎸
i love how mark is just walking up to him like wtf
Amazing Tom man !
Thanks Blink 182
More emotion in the lyrics than 95% of modern popular music of today
Hahaha so right!😂
Those snare rolls throughout the song were on point from Barker.
I came here from a live performance of Dammit with the live drummer and everyone commenting that he was better because he was punker. But watching this, you see Travis can do the fast punk thing flawlessly. He gets too fancy sometimes when writing his own parts, but when he is unloading on the old stuff, he sounds phenomenal. This was great to see.
@@kevinconnor6035 Same, I grew up listening to Buddha, Cheshire Cat, and Dude Ranch so I have always been biased with Scott Raynor as Blinks drummer and never thought Travis was a good fit. This video and actually this whole live performance changed my mind. Check out Travis playing Josie during this set. The snare rolls are even better. I knew Travis was a great drummer but this performance I have to give respect that he had the punk flair when needed.
It’s not that Travis couldn’t do the fast punk thing (if that’s what you’re referring to based on what you’ve seen people have said), It’s that it’s vastly different from How Scott plays and feels. With Scott, he hits so much Harder, gets so much volume from his kit, and he isn’t playing ahead like Travis is here; who’s more lighter by comparison
I would disagree that he sounds phenomenal on the old songs (for me at least), especially on this rendition of Carousel. His style, especially with his choice of fills, tend to not flow as well and the momentum of songs tends to drag at times with his fancier fills and over abundance of them (or rather, more than they need to be); compared to Scott, where he would throw in small fills in here and there while maintaining the momentum of the song, and play fills that fit and flowed Better with the song.
Yes, Travis can do fast punk. But when people are saying that Scott is punkier; they most likely mean that he plays with the right feel and Attitude for the songs. Travis can play correctly and everything, but he doesn’t carry the same impact and attitude for the songs that people liked from Scott.
@simplebutnotsolongname6642 this guy gets it! 👌
calling a dude with descendents and Dag Nasty tattoos not a punker seems wild to me.
Tom usually chugs a beer at the beginning. Man I haven't seen this in so long. They recorded Enema then did a club tour with Travis. . . This is that era
Blink were done with the small clubs by the time Enema came around. This was from a big alternative rock festival for Live 105 in the SF Bay Area.
Travis Barker recorded half the songs on Dude Ranch
@@IceBreakBottle No he didn't lmfao
Damn, i could like this video on every beat
Bless you Mark 🤗😏😋😊
Travis looks so restricted playing these drums. His style and Scott's are very different.
do you mean the drum kit or the drum part? cause that be travis' kit
He probably means in what he's playing. Though he embellished way more than what Scott played originally and made it his own. I disagree to some extent. This is Travis' foundation. His bread and butter will always be fast punk.
Travis rocking out 🤘
This video made me fall in love with punk again.
Seeing this now that they've comeback 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
its only been 3 years lol, bands go 3 years without releasing an album all the time. They didnt come back from anything
Why did Tom hit puberty at 30
no the aliens made his voice deeper
Still their best song ever written, imo.
Yes
This and Cacophony
@@RychleTube ahh I see... I was never a big fan of that song. I think Ben wah balls is actually a really well written song too. Not lyrically, of course.
No, damnit or man overboard. This I would put 3rd-6th
@@danm2084 definitely ben wah balls is underrated
One of the greatest songs ever.
This is the best live blink wish they were at my local skate park playing like this id do a tripple kickflip over the stairs in the snow ice and rain
Legendary performance.

Yes.
I hope Tom performs like this again.
beyond epic
I swear this band just followed me around in college and write songs about all the crap that happen especially to me
Esse set de bateria do Travis é um dos mais lindos e nostálgicos que tenho pra mim… os tons retos e baixos❤ OBRIGADO POR TUDO ,BLINK 182 🟢🟡🔴🐇
Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch are by far my favorite Blink albums. What separates it from the rest is the way they would jam out before any lyrics were sung like they did with Carousel. Stoked that we get one more chance to see them all together again.
Dude ranch is also lyrically the best Imo
won't be anything like this though, so I'll be keeping my money.
Hopefully they play their old songs in full speed, not in some shitty acoustic renditions
I agree. Chesire and dude are the best blink albums but also I put the self titled 2003 album right there with the other two. More mature lol around. Great songs, great music, great lyrics.
So much nostalgia with those two albums for me. I remember copying the CD’s to cassette, since my car that I had the summer of 97 and the following school year (junior year of HS) had a tape deck. I’d drive around my city just listen to these albums, and LTJ’s Losing Streak. Nowhere to go really…unless it was to/from school, or looking for skate spots.
One thing I'm noticing about this band is that the drummer actually overshadows the guitars
Yeah, Travis is probably more famous than the others at this point.
@@sumosloths98 Dude's banging a Kardashian!
@@alexiluffy216 one more detail about Travis I didn't want to know... Disappointing what Blink became... I mean... At the beginning they even covered Screeching Weasel! Why ruin your band for more money?
Didn't you hear Tom? He was on fiyah 🤘
That's how it should be.
Definitely seen this because I remember Mark doing a random short cover of living la Vida loca just to be crazy at the end of the show

Travis Barker's chops are insane.

Travis: An elite, gold standard drummer, professional and focused throughout. One of the best of all time. Total perfection of his craft.

he wrote the song's bass intro, give him some credit lol
Tickets to this show were probably around 25 bucks for any seat, it is now 250 for nosebleeds. I’ll stick to CZcams.
also I like the sign saying "Aliens Exist" at 3:28, if anything , Tom is consistent in his views
And Mark's cab says "No they don't" lol
@@a7xsrev lol didnt see that haha
@IITaDHGdALToNI there's a behind the scenes where Mark decides that he's not sure if aliens exist and then goes, "you know what. I'm just gonna say they don't just to piss off Tom"
