I remember an interview where Ken said he did not like his voice at first because it's too low. It's Pablo who pushed him to embrace his voice.. make sense that Pablo mainly produces the songs because he knows where to put and arrange the voices.. the friendship of these boys ❤️
We were surprised when Mana came out when it came to the lyrics. It's the first time we saw any Pinoy refer to themselves as Manananggal. It's a mythical creature, a scary monster that no celeb concerned with their image will want to associate themselves with. Pablo being Pablo, playful writer that he is, chose the manananggal to refer to themselves dealing with fame. The manananggal is a human by day, that grows bat-like wings at night and flies off with only half its body (waist-up), leaving their lower body on the ground. Pablo used this analogy to say that as they grow more famous, they will always be humble and will still have their feet on their ground. It indicates how playful they are and not so conscious to always be perfect. The music and the choreography also carry their own weight, so Mana is another gem in SB19's crown.

I remember Pablo commenting after they've done What? and Mana in succession in the NY concert, that it felt like he was about to collapse...and it's just their 1st two songs that they've performed. It seemed exhausting really to watch them and they've just performed their first 2 songs.

New A'tin here and it was worth the wait to stan a pop group with so much grit, passion despite their circumstances.
I agree, most groups now have variety of range in their vocal arsenals. They have lows, mids and highs. But the thing is, those members doing high range will just exploit their falsettos and head voice in almost all parts of the song. This group has Stell and Pablo who are soaring high with their chest registers in the fifth octave, pushing vocal prowess to the limit and not just rely on a technically, easier singing technique. Then they also have Ken, whose, well, we know how gut wrenching those lows are. The vibration is real even without any sound enhancement.
The dance choreography of Mana is one of my favourites. I felt that it would be incomplete without it. So I never thought SB19 could pull this off this song so flawlessly on the Wish Bus! OMG I was clearly mistaken! This is one of my all-time faves now!
I know you’ll get shookt with Mana. SB19 has the creative freedom to produce their songs and their unpredictability is their trademark. In one of their concerts, they managed to transform an EDM track into an acoustic version with only Pablo accompanying them with a guitar. Still they slayed. I’ve always said, SB19 is a game changer when it comes to pop groups. The first time I saw them and how good they are, then they made it to the BillBoard charts, I knew they’re gonna change the standards. I see it happening now. SB19 is the group who has the best of both worlds, Western Pop and Kpop. They have it all. We are very lucky to have an artists of their caliber to exist in 2020’s. And what’s better, this is just the beginning of their career as global Pop group. And I’m here to witness that. Thank you for reacting to them, GidKidDad. The first one who started the song was my bias, KEN a.k.a. FELIP. The red-haired lad. The lead vocal and main dancer of the group. He can slay any genre.
This song doesn’t have an MV but this is a fandom favorite track on their Pagsibol album. It’s meant to be danced to that’s why there’s a lot of instrumentals in between so I suggest you watch live performances of this song. It’s about people who doubted them at first and now that they’re famous, tables are turning, thus the angst.
You should see Mana with the choreography it’s amazing. This song is an A’tin favorite because of the uniqueness of the music+lyrics, vocal arrangement, and choreography. So far there is nothing like Mana.
Vocals here are awesome but check out aaaaalllll their live performances of them singing and dancing these....everytime, they amaze me. I cannot go up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath but them dancing and singing this....they are monsters!
In KPOP they usually have a tendency to create separate groups for either vocal & performance like 2AM & 2PM. Yes in performance group the members are mixed bags of vocalists, rappers exclusively. "These guys (SB19) are seriously the best song & dance POP group out there at the moment at least in my opinion." That is my comment from one of your reaction videos of them and I stand by it for many reasons. First of their talent...SB19 has 5 members who can all sing, rap & dance, their vocal ranges are unique to each other yet complimentary WITH each other, not many or I don't know of any in a performance idol group who is fortunate enough to have a group with members with that vocal range & this is from members, (other than Pablo) who mainly came from dance only cover groups. 2nd: harmonization is one of their best skills as a group. 3rd it is not only about their range, but their vocal stamina is top notch for an idol group. But what you know the best thing about this group is? Their story. Their talent is what will get your attention, but it is their story that will endear them to you & what will convert you to be a true A'TIN. If you truly want to know this group beyond you have to hear their story. If you want to do that you probably have to set a couple of hrs watching videos about it.
Yep, the core difference between Ppop and Kpop is that Ppop is vocals > everything else while Kpop is vocals = dance = rap + visuals. Nakuha lang natin yung designation kung sino yung main vocalist, lead vocalist, vocalist, sub-vocalist pero it's just more on the range and vocal flavor; all are made to be at least lead vocalist label and can switch roles anytime (perhaps aside from the main vocalists who are the best singers), since that is a main requirement for any Filipino groups. Then all others come second and equal (dance + rap + visuals) since the rest are made to complement the vocal performance. Kpop on the other hand, needs an equal amount in terms of vocal, dance and rap plus visuals. That's why they have dedicated roles or role lines ie. vocal, rap and dance plus designated visual. In Ppop, it's a minimum requirement for all members to provide a vocal capability that's fit and strong enough for a live performance (with live singing), be it on the high or low registers; in Kpop, the members need to at least be proficient in ALL, even if they are not the top-notch quality. What matters the most is that they excel the roles that was given to them. So I don't understand why those two genres need to be pitted against each other by some weird Ppop and Kpop fans because they are radically different.

For dirty rap by SB19, I would recommend the solos of Felip (aka SB19_Ken) which is Bulan, and Pablo's solo called La Luna. I love watching MANA on stage, with the dance choreography. SB19 is for me a unique group, a rare one! Outstanding talent.
I agree, most groups now have variety of range in their vocal arsenals. They have lows, mids and highs. But the thing is, those members doing high range will just exploit their falsettos and head voice in almost all parts of the song. This group has Stell and Pablo who are soaring high with their chest registers in the fifth octave, pushing vocal prowess to the limit and not just rely on a technically, easier singing technique. Then they also have Ken, whose, well, we know how gut wrenching those lows are. The vibration is real even without any sound enhancement.

The dance choreography of Mana is one of my favourites. I felt that it would be incomplete without it. So I never thought SB19 could pull this off this song so flawlessly on the Wish Bus! OMG I was clearly mistaken! This is one of my all-time faves now!
I know you’ll get shookt with Mana. SB19 has the creative freedom to produce their songs and their unpredictability is their trademark. In one of their concerts, they managed to transform an EDM track into an acoustic version with only Pablo accompanying them with a guitar. Still they slayed. So glad you enjoyed Mana as much as we do.

I’ve always said, SB19 is a game changer when it comes to pop groups. The first time I saw them and how good they are, then they made it to the BillBoard charts, I knew they’re gonna change the standards. I see it happening now. SB19 is the group who has the best of both worlds, Western Pop and Kpop. They have it all. We are very lucky to have an artists of their caliber to exist in 2020’s. This song doesn’t have an MV but this is a fandom favorite track on their Pagsibol album. It’s meant to be danced to that’s why there’s a lot of instrumentals in between so I suggest you watch live performances of this song. You should see Mana with the choreography it’s amazing. This song is an A’tin favorite because of the uniqueness of the music+lyrics, vocal arrangement, and choreography. So far there is nothing like Mana.
Vocals here are awesome but check out aaaaalllll their live performances of them singing and dancing these....everytime, they amaze me. I cannot go up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath but them dancing and singing this....they are monsters!
In KPOP they usually have a tendency to create separate groups for either vocal & performance like 2AM & 2PM. Yes in performance group the members are mixed bags of vocalists, rappers exclusively.
"These guys (SB19) are seriously the best song & dance POP group out there at the moment at least in my opinion." That is my comment from one of your reaction videos of them and I stand by it for many reasons.
First of their talent...SB19 has 5 members who can all sing, rap & dance, their vocal ranges are unique to each other yet complimentary WITH each other, not many or I don't know of any in a performance idol group who is fortunate enough to have a group with members with that vocal range & this is from members, (other than Pablo) who mainly came from dance only cover groups. 2nd: harmonization is one of their best skills as a group. 3rd it is not only about their range, but their vocal stamina is top notch for an idol group.
But what you know the best thing about this group is? Their story. Their talent is what will get your attention, but it is their story that will endear them to you & what will convert you to be a true A'TIN. If you truly want to know this group beyond you have to hear their story. If you want to do that you probably have to set a couple of hrs watching videos about it.
Yep, the core difference between Ppop and Kpop is that Ppop is vocals > everything else while Kpop is vocals = dance = rap + visuals.
Nakuha lang natin yung designation kung sino yung main vocalist, lead vocalist, vocalist, sub-vocalist pero it's just more on the range and vocal flavor; all are made to be at least lead vocalist label and can switch roles anytime (perhaps aside from the main vocalists who are the best singers), since that is a main requirement for any Filipino groups. Then all others come second and equal (dance + rap + visuals) since the rest are made to complement the vocal performance. Kpop on the other hand, needs an equal amount in terms of vocal, dance and rap plus visuals. That's why they have dedicated roles or role lines ie. vocal, rap and dance plus designated visual.
In Ppop, it's a minimum requirement for all members to provide a vocal capability that's fit and strong enough for a live performance (with live singing), be it on the high or low registers; in Kpop, the members need to at least be proficient in ALL, even if they are not the top-notch quality. What matters the most is that they excel the roles that was given to them.
So I don't understand why those two genres need to be pitted against each other by some weird Ppop and Kpop fans because they are radically different.

Heard this song thousand of times but still gives me the chills to the bone. Their vocals, individually, are insane! Out of this world. But Ken's voice is a gem. Can slay in a very low deep voice yet can still slay in a higher range. I mean all of them are pro!
