I actually almost always wish you would show more footage of the full process, so this time was a happy surprise. I’m an artist (not MUA) and my strongest ability is intricate shading, especially if I have something to look at... so WHY can’t I blend eyeshadows anywhere nearly as nice as you!? I’ve bought the brushes and shadows you recommend. I just bought the ABH primer but haven’t used it yet. If that doesn’t do the trick I’ll just have to accept that it’s more than materials and mimicking... it’s also true talent and you’re chock full of it! 😁❤️
PS - are you going to do a recommendations for the Sephora sale next week? I know you just did one 3 months ago so maybe too soon.
I was actually happy to see that! It made me feel better about how it takes me sooo long to apply eyeshadow. It's like a half hour process just for the eyes lol!
Queen of blending
i was surpised at how long you kept that clip but happy you did! people always edit out how much blending they do and how long it takes to blend out eyeshadows. it gets really discouraging sometimes to watch a 5 minute tutorial, try it ourselves, and it takes sometimes 35-45 minutes to get it looking even remotely similar to the original tutorial 😭

You are by far 100% the best Influencer when it comes to tutorials! You always teach us how to create the look... not just have us watch you while you do it and only explain half of steps. Long time fan..People should be opening their eyes and realize you be on top of the beauty community. So refreshing.

@@melthompson2856 I really liked the comparisons too! That was a lot of extra work and much appreciated. I don't think I'll be purchasing this one because I think this one is actually forgettable. There really isn't anything about it that makes it unique and I have dupes of every color in the pallettes I already own. Actually, I'm putting myself on a pallette break in general until someone collabs with either you or Alicia...Then I'll buy two ;) Except for maybe that ND Lila pallette that I still haven't purchased... I like the fact that the PR box was stunning, yet understated in size. I like that it's not overdone, but it's just enough to make a bold statement.

Honestly, i like the silent blend a bit, it highlights how long it takes to blend. Perfect blended shadows take time

I’ve seen several reviews on this palette but yours by far has been the most informative and unbiased. I personally love this palette for the sheer richness of all the shades. Those comparison swatches are going to be very helpful to all those folks who are like you and have all those palettes. Even your extra footage was helpful.

I really like this palette. I don’t know what the community expects. With so much palette saturation there are only so many colors left to make lol. I hope I can get this in January when I place an order in Canada. Thanks Mel!
ABH to make a palette with colors that have more than a quarter to half tone difference than their other palettes? If you look at their palettes side by side, they are definitely one of the bigger offenders on all but repeating shades.
The palette will be available Aug 15 in Canada, AND the VIB sale is next week!

Honestly, pictures can be deceiving which is why I personally dont buy make up online unless I've swatched it. This sucks because I'm darker skinned and retail stores hardly cater to my skin type😞 But I just saw this palette at Sephora and the colors are different from other ABH pallettes. This palette is essentially deeper versions of past ABH palettes. I honestly never get excited for shadow palette because I learned quickly that if it's say a 16 pan palette, at least 1/3 of the shades won't work for me so it's essentially a waist of money but I swatched every shade and they all showed up! I can't wait until payday because this palette will be coming home with me soon🤣
Wow!!! The unedited shot of you blending the last look was absolutely mesmerizing!!! Watching this was so calming and satisfying.
I love that you showed some real time blending! Some times I get so frustrated because I feel like my eyeshadow should be blended in 5 seconds like a jump cut. Haha!
I don't even wear makeup, but I find these videos relaxing, and I enjoy color so much so esp like palette reviews. This is the 1st time I've seen someone show the time it takes to blend (I do wall treatments and experiment with paint mixing, so can relate,) and learned to appreciate to time and artistry it takes to do this well. Awesome video, new sub:)

Oh em gee Mel, your are the blending queen. Watching you blend was so relaxing and made me realize I"m not taking my time lol. My palette came in today and I"m super excited. Thank you for such a great in-depth review but then this is what you do and what makes you so awesome!! It always amazing how colors look on different skin tones. I received my palette last Friday and have been using it ever since and the colors totally look different on me. It’s such a beautiful palette. I own 6 ABH palettes and I don’t think it’s like any of them.

You just showed me how do deal with darker and highly pigmented shadows on lighter skin. Never thought to start in the outer V. Have watched a lot of others and not seen this method. Thanks Mel. Love that second look the most. Absolutely beautiful 😘

That is Soooooooo funny. I am a painter 👩🎨 myself and, although I don’t recommend his techniques, he was fun to watch. Most of his fans, never painted. What is hilarious was that he had been a Sargent in the Army, and when he retired, he swore he would never yell at anyone again. This inspired his chill pretty trees vibe.

I definitely went to Sephora yesterday to go pick it up and did not realize that it does not come out until the 15th which is OK I will be getting it then I’m super glad you did a review on this I trust you so much because I know that your thoughts and opinions cannot be purchased by anybody. So excited to get this when it comes to Ulta/Sephora , it'll flatter my olive skin so well! I have to really do a lot of prep to make Norvina not pull green on my skin tone, but this palettes pink and purple will be so much better

I'm more excited for this ABH palette than any other release since Prism. I don't see where there's many "repeat shades"--these shades seem to shine a bit brighter than many previous ABH shades. The color story just speaks to me.

I am white as a wall and bought the palette. It is my favorite so far out of my collection. I didnt know who jackie was, I just went to ulta and saw the beautiful colors.

You're so right about stiffer brushes! I find the ones that come with the pallets are designed to work with their shadows and they're stiffer for that reason...
I’m really glad you kept the extra footage! As a working MUA, I’m constantly given looks that take time, but people feel they should be executed in a short amount of time because of the amount of editing that goes into CZcams/IG videos. A beautiful blended eye takes time. Thank you for showing that.

So soothing and satisfying to see that extended blending! As always phenomenal eye looks Mel! Love how you just added a touch of Ginger in the first look, it just pulled the whole look together. This palette is just straight up 🔥. Jackie def. wasn't playing around coming up with the shades. I can't wait to get it, esp. so I can put Sponsored all over my lids and show out! All the shades are gorgeous, but that one is just the star of the palette for me.
I watch a lot of tutorials , yours by far was the best in delivery for a “ how to “ vid. Easy to understand and follow.

I bought this palette and I love it! Whether or not you like Jackie, she killed it with this palette. Every look I’ve done looks great 👍. Julia Adams did swatches of her palette on her channel compared to pat mcgrath bronze seduction and many of the shades were dupes only Jackie’s were more vibrant plus you get more shades for less money. Jackie just has an outspoken personality and is not afraid to share her opinions. She has talent. People need to get over it.
