you know what makes me this emotional? the fact that i remember the days when this wasn't all fetus.. i was right here in the heart of fandom during TMH and Madame Tussaud's wax figures and french interview and Olympics opening ceremonial and awards shows and even watched OT5 TWITCAM LIVE !! and the drama of nickelodeon prank and first Australian leg of the tour (still not over the first leak of their shirtless photos).. i lived through all this. watching all of this the moment it was uploaded. i remember the time when the fandom still had the hope that video diaries could come back. i don't even listen to pop music that much but still they manage to stay part of my life. if not one direction my early teens could have been so different. they and this fandom shaped me to who i am today. to some of you this video is just your favorite band's history but to me it's reminder of the weirdest year of my life. the year i found out they existed.

Watching this after celebrating 10 years of One Direction hits really differently. It's crazy to see how all of us have grown up with this band, even after the boys disbanded. Seeing videos like this make me appreciate the money and emotions and tears and sweat I've had over this band. Forever grateful

It's very emotional for me to watch this, especially knowing that Zayn has left the band, it's emotional watching the first part of this video where he's talking about "this is not the last of us", who knew that so many things would drastically change and happen. I really miss the 2010-2012 days, those were definitely the days. Zayn will be forever be apart of the band, one direction isn't the same anymore, but our boys will always be our boys.
Everyone is saying this is better than This Is Us, and it is, because we know more about how they got to where they are than some director who only hung out with them for 9 months. Of course we have a better idea of how much they've been through. And think of this, this video was made in December last year, almost an entire year has passed, so think about how many more memories there are now, how much more our 5 boys have achieved. It's good and it's bad because they work so hard and they hardly spend more than a few days in each city. But think how hard it is for them, not seeing their families. But at the same time I know they're so thankful to have been able to do this. Maybe One Direction will end in years to come, All boy bands do eventually when they start to grow up and start families, but the love we have for each other will never leave. and most boy bands tend to get back together later on, so we'll all be ready and waiting for them, telling all these stories to our families and sharing our memories with them as we do. Because what our parents say is true, our teenage years are some of the best years of our lives. Obviously not because of school and all the other shit we go through, but because some of us are lucky enough to have this connect with this band, and other people might say that we're sad or pathetic for obsessing over them. But to be honest, I would much rather be shut up in my room crying over these 5 boys and how much they mean to me than be out partying every night and doing things I regret. Sure, i'd love to do that to, but I think that you get more out of this, the connection we all have with each other. So those other people can laugh at us and feel sorry for us all they want, but i'll forever be laughing at them for worrying about all those things that don't matter, and i'll feel sorry for them because they're not lucky enough to have what I have. I now have a family of millions of sisters and brothers, and 5 big older brothers who (quoting the movie) love me, even though they don't me. I wouldn't trade that for anything.
